Pandemic prompts Nantucket police to hit pause on some gun permit applications

The Nantucket Police Department says it will not be processing gun permit applications requiring fingerprinting until further notice due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In a tweet on Wednesday that was later taken down, officials wrote, “Our permit office will not be doing firearms permit applications, fingerprints, or photos until further notice due to COVID-19.”

“This action was taken after employees responsible for obtaining these fingerprints expressed their concern that they could not safely do their jobs with the workplace safety procedures we have in place,” the statement read. “Because of the processes involved in obtaining these permits, it is impossible to do while following state guidelines for social distancing in the workplace.”

This is in Massachusetts where to own a gun requires a FID.

The government just paused issuing permits which means new owners are blocked for buying a gun.

The bureaucrats got scared of dealing with the public because of COVID so now their Second Amendment rights are void.

This needs to be challenged all the way up to the Supreme Court.

This is exactly what we always said would happen with permits to own.  The government could find an excuse to stop processing the paperwork and now citizens are banned from owning guns by default.

In case you were unaware, yesterday was International Men’s Day.

If you use Google, you would not have known this because they didn’t have a doodle for it the way they did for International Women’s Day.

Men need to stop being lectured about how to be men by Woke scolds or actives who are not or were not raised by men.

“Men are not allowed to show emotion” or “men are only allowed to show anger” is the sort of think that is the punchline of shitty comedy, not an understanding of what men really are like.

I went through a rough patch when I was unemployed.  I saw a therapist.  She was not helpful.

I am a man, I am a husband and a father.  My duty is to my family.  What gets me out of bet in the morning is that I have people that depend on me.

What I needed was a job.  I needed a job commensurate with my intelligence, skills, and qualifications.  My therapist didn’t seem to understand that need that existed.  Without the ability to adequate provide for my family I was nothing.

When you read about helping veterans with PTSD, one of the most important things that can be done is for male veterans is to get a productive job.  It’s also recommended that they get a pet, especially a dog, someone who they can take care of.

Simply talking really doesn’t help men.  Men are doers.

I agree with the principle of helping men, and addressing the issues of drug abuse, over dose deaths, and suicide in men.

According to the Woke internet, that is done by fighting the patriarchy and gender stereotypes about men.

They are less interested in what men actually need and more interested in telling men they should be less like men.

It’s no coincidence that alcoholism, drug abuse, overdosed, and suicide follow unemployment and exist in much higher rates in places where the economy is in the shitter.

Productive men, men who have families that they take care of, are much better off.  The pressure of supporting a loving family rarely breaks men.  Being made redundant and being unable to support a family is much more damaging.

The focus on men should be on helping them rebuild their place in society as a respected breadwinner, not talking it out with a government paid-for therapist.

These people don’t want to help men as men, they want to make men into not men.

If you don’t understand what men really are, and just assume they are the stereotype of a bad sitcom or a women’s studies professor’s lecture, you are not helping and you need to shut the fuck up.

In the TV series, The Man In The High Castle, the during the post-war of alternative world where the Nazis win WWII, the American Right begins what is called Jahr Null (Year Zero) where American History is to be considered a failure and removed from the culture and that includes the toppling and destruction of not only books (The NY Library is set on fire) but the toppling and destruction of American icons to be substituted by politically-approved ones.

OK, it is fantasy and all that, but the concept is an old one and tried not too far back in Cambodia with Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge Year Zero. It simply stated that Kampuchea (the new name for Cambodia) needed to go to simpler times, times more attuned with nature and attuned with the new political “mandate.” It lead to changes all right: close to one and half a million Cambodians (some say more) were killed by direct government action (the majority) or plain starvation.

So when I hear a bunch of bureaucrats with actual zero experience and even less results on how to provide for human beings talk about The Great reset, it scares me deep into my bones.

It does not matter if your way of life has provided for you and your family. It does not matter if it has helped others get food,  get healthy and live longer. None of that matter because they need to try their way which is based in the failed policies that have created the sick and the hungry in other places.

And they have the balls to say you are wrong and they are right while reclining on a gigantic sofa of the corpses of those who died by hunger and disease.

I think we will take a hard pass on your Great Reset.

PS: After I posted, YouTube was generous enough to pop this video for me.

I was arguing a bit with somebody in the Twiterverse about the use of masks.  First he/she used the appeal to emotion to justify why should I be forced to wear a mask. It did not go well because after he/she informed me they were essential! medical workers who were already infected!(ZOMG) and she did not want them to die because people were not wearing a mask. I had to point to the obvious problem here: If they were already infected, the mask wasn’t much of help, right? he/she finally and somewhat admitted the mask is not perfect  (which is true, at best it may reduce the viral load projected by somebody infected and reduce some the intake for somebody not infected. Hell, I even conceded that in that protection sense, a face shield is better than a mask.

My final point was simple: They are trying to force an illegal mandate a medical prophylactic measure that is at best suspect but they are passing it as effective 100%. We are being sold a line of BS for political reasons, not health concerns and that is why I object to all this effing Health Theater.

I concocted a couple of obscure memes of my own as reply.

The first one is a well known and recognized doctor from the middle of the 20th century who studied many sicknesses and human anomalies in subjects according to the law: Josef Mengele.

The second one is also done with the full support of the government, the US government:  Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment.

So, sorry if I have a natural allergy to blindly obey health mandates from government. History has proven them rather deadly  when they put their mitts in the process.

And here is the kicker: I do understand that I have comorbidities that can make me not enjoy a bout of Wuhan V so I do wear a mask and stay the fuck away from people (I have been doing that for a long time, anyway) but because I made the informed choice to do so and not because they are gonna send cop after me if I don’t so.

That is the whole crux of the matter for yours truly.

I do believe if Civil War actually breaks out, there will be a hell of a lot less remorse in our side that I would expect.

Carlos Antonio De Bourbon Montenegro — also known as Mark Anthony Gonsalves — was set to be arraigned Tuesday in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom on 18 felony counts of voter fraud, 11 felony counts of procuring a false or forged instrument, two felony counts of perjury and one felony count of conspiracy to commit voter fraud, along with nine misdemeanor counts of interference with a prompt transfer of a completed affidavit, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Montenegro, 53, allegedly submitted more than 8,000 fraudulent voter registration applications between July and October, as well as allegedly falsifying names, addresses and signatures on nomination papers under penalty of perjury to run for mayor in Hawthorne.

So one guy can commit voter fraud with 8,000 names to win a mayoral seat in a small town in California, but this bing done to unseat Trump in a couple of swing states is an impossible, unthinkable, conspiracy theory?
