Deep Space 9 predicts a Biden victory

I love Star Trek TNG.  Now that I’m waiting for Season 5 of the Expanse to start I thought I’d catch up on other Trek, so I started DS9.

I’m in Season 3 and I’ve run into a two part episode, Past Tense.

Commander Sisko and Dr. Bashir get sent to San Francisco in August or 2024.

It is a shithole.  The economy has tanked.  Most people are out of work.  Jobs are handed out by the government to the people who want them.  Most people live in “sanctuary zones” on government rations.  There is still a wealthy tech industry elite that live in luxury, but everyone else is either a low level bureaucrat or a bum.  All your personal information is on the net.

Crime is rampant, civil unrest is at the breaking point, the climax is a massive riot.

This would take place at the end of Biden’s first term.

Star Trek writers in 1995 came up with the worst realistic future they could come up with 29 years later

The worst predictions had are what San Francisco looks like now backed by the kind of economy that Biden will lead us to have.

The episode didn’t say who the president was, but given the evidence, it has to be Biden.

Florida: From Hanging Chad joke to showing how voting is done.

If you do a search for “hanging chad” you will be flooded by photos and stories of the 2,000 election and the mess it was in Florida.  Some of the photos became iconic and forger of memes and even the New York Times had an article last week asking if Florida was ready for the election.

20 years later and once again we are dealing with a boondoggle of counting and even possibly recounting, late Mail In ballots or not even counted yet along with Early votes.

But none of that happened in Florida.

About 5 other states where election laws are simply designed for the idiocy of twisting the results they do not like, are immersed in a controversy of votes appearing out of nowhere and Nevada was saying the results won’t be ready till Thursday. The excuse flouncing around is that this elections saw an increased number of voters and it takes time to count them all, specially early voting and Mai Ins.

Bullshit.

So how did the Eternal Electoral Joke known as Florida did in this election? If you guys were following me last night, we were pretty much done by 9:30 pm. By then Trump had achieved the 300,000 plus votes advantage and it grew after that into almost 400,000 as the night progressed. Oh yes, I forgot: The official vote counting did not begin till 8:00 pm EST because Florida has 2 time zones and they waited till then.

What about Early voting and Mail Ins? Votes mailed in were 4,852,639 and early votes were 4,332,221.    All votes run almost 11 million and we were “done” by 9:30. The Media refused to call the state for its own sinister reasons, even after the math said it would not be a change.

Even the much maligned Broward County which screwed up by the numbers in the 2016 elections, had its crap together and performed faultlessly. Of course, they had removed the old democrat supervisor of election Brenda Snipes and was replaced with Republican  Peter Antonacci who shaped up the department in such a manner, even his political (and suspicious) contrarians give him praise. And no scandals have shown from Broward, not messed counts, no “failing” counting machines.  Hey, Democrats got re-elected. That says something, right?

So, no. There is no excuse for the “screw up” we are witnessing other than being tailored for a potential cheat… well, potential my flat arse. No Florida Man jokes for the elections this year.

I want a new USPSA division

This is the second ammo hording crisis I’ve lived through in my adult life.

Ammo has gotten stupid expensive.  The line yesterday at Larry’s Pistol and Pawn wrapped around the building like people were going in there to vote.  The ammo displays were as picked clean as a Venezuelan supermarket.

As Miguel can attest to, even reloading supplies are dry.

This has put a cramp on my shooting. Not just mine but a lot of people’s too.  I haven’t done USPSA on months.  The matches that are running are spartan.

This is what I want:

Create a USPSA rimfire division, maybe two divisions, for rimfire handguns.

Production is just that.  Any stock 22 cal semi auto pistol.  There are a lot on the market.

Open is any 22 cal semi auto pistol with whatever muzzle device, optics, etc you want.

Both limited to 10 rounds.

22 Long Rifle is still available, I keep seeing it, and it’s cheaper than centerfire.

I won’t part with my precious 45 ACP at $0.70 a shot, but I’ll burn up half a brick of 22 at a match.

Rules will be pretty much the same except steel doesn’t need to fall, just get hit.

Additional benefits will be more people getting interested as the barriers to entry (mostly costs) are lower.  A 22 pistol is cheaper, so is ammo.  Lower recoil will make it easier to bring in younger shooters.

I know I have no pull whatsoever, but I’d like to start a campaign to get this done.  Perhaps starting as outlaw matches.

At the end of the day, the important thing is practicing the fundamentals. That requires sending lead downrange.  If the only way to do that affordability during crazy times is with 22, I’d rather shoot 22 than not shoot at all.

If you are a match director, maybe consider an outlaw rimfire match if your regular matches are getting sparse due to ammo prices.

Let me know what you think in the comments.

Electoral Fraud in Michigan. Twitter censors. “Nothing to see here.”

An update that was made to Michigan’s totals is raising red flags after 138,339 votes were found in the state which happened to all go to Joe Biden. Not a single one went to President Trump. As the Federalist’s Sean Davis quipped, “That doesn’t look suspicious at all.”

In his post about the update, he showed before and after screenshots of The New York Times’s map of the state.

Click to enlarge. Compare all quantities.

Soon after, Twitter put a warning on his post that “some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process.”

Twitter Slaps Warning on People Pointing Out ‘Suspicious’ Michigan Update

Somebody commented that this election needs to be taken to SCOTUS. I fear that there will be no other peaceful recourse.

And for the love of God, send some legal wolves, not some poodles who believe in “fairness.”  or in the words of Marsellus Wallace “ a coupla pipe-hittin’ n*****s, who’ll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch

They are cheating, it is time to do away with niceties and politeness.

Are we on our way to become a Third World country?

“In addition to whatever ballots have come in on Election Day, Pennsylvania poll workers will be able to count mail-in ballots that arrive in the next three days — even if there is not a clear postmark and even if the signature on the ballot does not match voter rolls.”

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf: ‘Still over 1 Million Ballots to Count’

How was this allowed to legally exist is beyond me.  How the local Republicans thought this was not going to be used against us is also beyond me.  We allowed them to go from “Every Vote Counts” to “Every vote we make up after the election counts.” Fraud was condoned and then legalized without challenge.

If President Trump wins, his priority needs to be cleaning up the electoral system. But I fear I woke up this morning in Venezuela or Zimbabwe.
We will never have another free election in my lifetime.

We may have lost the Republic in the name of Democracy..

The most bulls**tiest bulls**t ever bulls**tted about gun violence – oh yeah, and they are coming for your guns

From USA Today:

Trump policies spur gun violence. Next president must use federal authority to stop it.

President Donald Trump’s inability to condemn white supremacists and his callout to the Proud Boys from the presidential debate stage has drawn outrage from across the spectrum, as well it should. And while we are constantly subject to Trump’s verbal assaults, and are forced to consider whether his words will inspire violence, we must remember that his policy choices are causing violence every day.

Bullshit.  Straight, unadulterated bullshit.

As protests across the country have called for an end to racial injustice, the Trump administration has not only failed to address the root causes of police violence, but its actions will lead to an increase in gun violence.

This perpetuates a theme we have been seeing on the Left, where police shootings are tossed in with criminal gun violence.  For that matter, most of the shootings that have resulted in protests have turned out to be justified once the facts were reviewed.

This is also bullshit.  The protests have led to a number of shootings, almost all (and perhaps all) of them conducted by the side supposedly fighting “to end racial injustice.”

In 2020, gun violence and gun-related homicides have already claimed nearly 16,000 American lives. A recent analysis by criminologist Jeff Asher of 59 cities found that the number of homicide victims was up 28% compared with the same period last year. This spike in violence has not been confined to geographic or ideological boundaries; it is occurring in communities across America.

Even in small cities such as Aurora, Colorado, and Toledo, Ohio, the homicide rates are significantly higher. While fully unpacking what is driving the rise in the homicide rate could take years, it is hard to imagine that George Floyd’s death at the knee of a Minneapolis police officer in May and the spinal cord injury of Jacob Blake, shot in the back multiple times Aug. 23 in Wisconsin, and other incidents of police violence that diminish trust in law enforcement are not a contributing factor.

Or bail reform, people going stir crazy over the lockdowns, politicians using the COVID to let people out of jail, police getting the distinct impression that Prosecutors/District Attorneys are ideologically aligned with the protesters and are happy to fan the flames and throw the cops under the bus.  None of this is Trump’s fault.

The Trump administration has ignored effective interventions that approach the root cause of police violence. The federal government has the ability to require local law enforcement agencies to implement police accountability reforms. Both Attorneys General William Barr and Jeff Sessions criticized this authority as federal overreach.

House Democrats killed a very good bill by Senator Tim Scott.  That is on them.

Programs that interrupt cycles of retaliatory violence and connect services to high-risk individuals can save lives. Yet instead of investing in a proactive approach, the Department of Justice seems to have divested from community programs, embracing a “boots on the ground” approach to address violence after it has happened.

The federal government has both the authority and tools to combat the twin crises of community-based gun violence and police violence. Let’s hope the next administration has the will to do it.

Go after the cops and legal gun owners, don’t arrest protesters or criminals who commit actual crimes seems to have worked so well in California and New York City so far.

The entirety of this OpEd and the political ideology that it is part of can be summed up this way:

Remember that the Left has been demanding retribution for Trump’s victory in 2016.

If they manage to steal this thing after- post and deliver a Biden victory, the next two to four years will be them exciting revenge on Trump’s base.

This OpEd is a window into what the looks like, where the police and law-abiding gun owners will be made to suffer while criminals commit crimes unabated because of Progressive policies on justice.
