Ted Cruz is pissed and we NEED Trump to win a second term

We need Trump to win a second term because if he doesn’t this goes nowhere.

I just hope and pray that this is the moment the GOP gets mad enough to grow some balls and actually send people to prison and fine the shit out of companies, and not just dick around.

Just because you are a private entity does not give you the right to be an a**hole.

Monopolies for the most part are not a good thing. In fact, I would say that 90% they are a bad thing. Monopoly busting is one of the few government actions that make sense and actually have been proven healthy for the people.

Those old enough will remember the dismemberment of MaBell and the doom prophecies foretold for telecommunications in the US. We were supposed to pay for our sins by having to use the Pony Express and carrier pigeons again if we wanted to communicate beyond shouting distance.  But almost immediately, prices went down, savings appeared and the service did not suffer. Most people had one phone for the whole house because they were either very expensive. or you also could  get a phone if you rented one from MaBell. That stupidity was removed and we were suddenly flooded with phones that worked and you could buy for about  about 70% less that the monthly fee you paid to your local Bell company.  Calling relatives long distance only happened once or twice a year during Holidays or when there was a dire emergency or death of a close relative. Telegrams in some cases were cheaper if you were willing to accept the hours’ delay.  Families shared the same line! because it was a cheaper way to be connected, but again, anybody could listen in to your call.  Oh yes, you were tethered to a wall.  At best you could buy a very long extension chord to see if you could talk in another room. Mobile phones? That stuff was for the Rockefellers or Gettys.

Fast Forward to today and we have homes with multiple phones which can be used to call long distance without any extra charge, in some cases even free overseas calls. Hell you can send instant “telegrams” that will reach anybody in the world in seconds from the palm of your hand . And the phones now still do what a  bank of computers at the Pentagon could not do back then and all while we carry it in our pockets anywhere we want to go.

But what is going on with Facebook and Twitter is more insidious. It is no longer a question of simply commerce but a direct attack on the Freedom of Information  by controlling its flow. It is covering the mouth of a woman being raped so nobody can hear her screams for help just because she happens to be in your apartment and it is private property so you can decide what can be said or transmitted. It is disabling the fire alarm system in your business so people do not pull the switch in case of a fire till you (or a trusted fact-checking partner) makes sure that indeed there is a fire.

This is a concerted effort to directly affect the ability of people to make a decision on a news item by the suppression of information monopolies  deem prejudicial to their bottom line. It is a direct attack on the health of an ailing Republic by people who can and will leave the country and buy themselves  a dacha and immunity in a foreign land after the mess they helped create explodes everywhere. They will find soon afterward that neither the people they helped, nor the ones they screwed up, will have any kind of sympathy for them other than have them standing in front of the ballistically  pockmarked wall in the back of some property.

What it takes to be a millionaire CEO isn’t having a dick but being a dick

I love this headline:

The Wing cofounder Audrey Gelman in a public apology said that her drive to be a ‘feminist success’ led her to ignore workplace harassment and racism

In a nutshell, Gelman co-founded a startup that was a private club intended to be a safe space,  exclusively for women, to use a workspace free from men.  A place where women could flourish and be creative.

Turns out, Gelman is just as abusive, demeaning, and hostile as any man.

This is more evidence that what it takes to be a multimillionaire CEO is to be a psychopathic, abusive asshole who is willing to stomp on people all the way to to top.

The reason there are fewer women CEOs isn’t sexism as much as there are fewer women who have this sort of ruthless psychopathy.

Also, it makes me feel less bad that I’m not a millionaire millennial, because I’m not that sort of person.  If rather share credit and work in an environment with comradery than be the richest guy in a hostile work environment.

He’s absolutely right

If you are not familiar with what should have been one of the biggest October Surprises in history, the New York Post broke a story with emails from a laptop owned by Hunter Biden that he abandoned at a computer repair company, that showed proof that Joe Biden was aware of and complicit in Hunder Biden’s pay-for-play schemes to profit off his dad’s position as VP.  The laptop also contained at least one sex tape of Hunter Biden banging a hooker and smoking crack.

Facebook and Twitter axed this story.  They banned anyone who shared the link, including the Press Secretary herself.

This is 100% accurate.  In the early days of the internet, a hands-off, low regulation approach allowed the internet to flourish.

But that lack of regulation now has led to the creation of monopolies with an ideological bend that is now more stifling than anything the government could have come up with.

If the Government had started banning anyone who shared a link to a news article, a Judge would have gotten an injunction against that on First Amendment grounds by lunch.  It would have been that cut-and-dry a case.  But because two private websites that host two-thirds of real-time internet communication between them are doing it, it’s a little harder.

I believe in the free market until it stops being a free market, which clearly the internet has become in some circles (social media).

Libertarians have essentially become economic anarchists, where any regulation is bad because it is regulation.

This is where the Libertarians become the enemy of liberty and alienate limited government Conservatives.

Us: “You mean you are fine with three companies that host almost all real-time internet communication and the majority of internet searches burry a major story about the corruption of a politician they agree with?”

Libertarians: “They are private sector so the First Amendment doesn’t apply to them, stop trying to regulate business, you Fascist.”
