Loading the fat .45 ACP rounds into the single stack magazine was easier than the .40 that’s for sure. That or its confirmation bias. I lined up the sights just slightly above the grouping left by the previous occupiers of the lane, and shot. It was, it was like zen you could say.

Damn it…another one lost into the Evil Church of the .45 ACP 🙂

  1. I’ve been hooked since my first day shooting!

Hell I even will outright say that 9×19 is a superior round to .45 ACP…..but I keep doubling down and buying more .45s

    Of course .40 S&W sucks! 😉

    1. And Miguel, the .22 has killed more people and animals than all other calibers combined. Proving it is all about shot placement, rather than bullet size. I’ve even personally killed many times more things with .22’s than all other calibers I own.

  2. Serious side note: well-known instructor (also an expert witness) noted the other day that he currently has several cases where BG took rounds in the back from GG as BG turned away. While such can be explained in court, he says, you could likely avoid having to do so, possibly even avoid being charged in a justifiable self-defense shooting, if you can use fewer rounds to avoid appearing to shoot BG in the back when he/she was turning away from you. His personal solution is to carry larger calibers: for him in semi-auto that means .45 ACP. He also finds 10mm acceptable, and 40 S&W a good maybe. Interesting thought.

  3. Just gonna throw in my personal opinion, I enjoy the .45 ACP. A 9mm may expand but a .45 never shrinks, .357mag and .45ACP
