My off duty concealed handgun, a Kahr PM9, model 9093, 9mm, loaded with Winchester SXT ammunition was in that same pocket.  The clerk then realized she had charged me too much so she reran the bill and it came to $7.03.  I told her that I have the three cents.  Immediately after reaching into my pocket the pistol discharged one round.

And that is why I don’t pocket carry. I can be a huge doofus. Hopefully the officer recovered fully.

  1. *sigh* Maybe he’ll try “Mexican” carry with a Glock next and Darwin himself next.

    I assume he’s a 4-suggestions advocate?

  2. Nothing wrong with pocket carry. Everything wrong with carrying an unprotected trigger. Cover that thing in a holster!

(And oh, yeah: don’t put anything else in that pocket. Not your keys, not your change, not your hand unless you intend to draw. Nothing…)

Reading the comments over on that blog, the idiot-in-question wanted to blame the gun for being “an unsafe design.” Poor guy, so determined to protect his own ignorance that he failed to learn anything. I hope his next lesson doesn’t kill anyone.

  3. I pocket carry a PM9 sometimes — in a very nice Hedley pocket holster. If the guy had the gun in his pocket with no holster he’s blessed to still have his junk.

As stated — pocket carry means HOLSTERED gun and nothing else in pocket.
