What Time is actually doing here is pining for the days when blacks could just be unilaterally disarmed on the whim of local authorities.
As many already know, up to 1934, you could buy a Thompson Sub Machine gun by mail and have it delivered home. Sears sold guns in their catalog, young kids could buy hunting rifles at the local hardware store and soldiers brought many full auto and even crew served machine guns from WWI for their personal use.
Of course, you had to be White to enjoy the privilege. Time does seem to be wishing for that. Jim Crow hides in Manhattan nowadays.

The Democrats have been claiming since the 1950s that they’re the party who want to help blacks, women, minorities, immigrants, homosexuals, and the poor.
They’ve had SIXTY YEARS to work on this.
Are things better? No. In fact if anything, for many of those demographics(the poor in particular), things are far worse than they were in the 1950s.
Why? Because when your platform is based on “Vote for me and I’ll help all of your problems go away,” people don’t have any reason to help you unless they have problems.
It is in the Democrat party’s best interest to make things worse for the very people they claim to help. Because the moment those people don’t need help anymore, the Democrats have nothing to offer them.
Back in the sixties in Cleveland, OH they banned the so called Saturday night special after the riots in the black neighborhoods, this only affected blacks as the rest of us continued to buy them as there was no enforcement in rest of the city. Plus the mail order 22 LR I got from J.C. Penny and still have. The other point is that on my Uncle’s farm 20 miles out of town we would stop in at the local hardware store and pick up dynamite to blow up stumps. When the law change he stocked up and stored it in the chicken coop, it may still be there. Sorry gov agents he’s long dead so no arrest potential on that one.
