As a rule, poeple on the Left know nothing about economics.  You can take that to the bank.  Every time they say something regarding economics or pay scales, you know it’s wrong.

I have mentioned the history of Ben and Jerry’s inability to find a replacement CEO.

Call this the Law of Ben and Jerry.  In simplest terms, what it says is: the salary and/or total compensation of a company’s executive must be proportional to the total size and revenue stream of the company.

If the company employs thousands of people and makes hundreds of millions of dollars, or more, the person with the skill set to manage that is going to command a multi million dollar compensation package.

This applies to non-profits too.

Enter idiot mediator Jeff Kasky.

The best data I have is from 2016, where the NRA had a revenue of $433.9 Million.  Due to record donations and new members, the NRA is going to be worth even more this year.  It also has some six million members as well as lobbyists, lawyers, and other staff on payroll.

It’s going to take a talented person to manage all that.

Looking at other non-profits, the CEO’s of Memorial-Sloan Kettering and the American Heart Association make more than than the president of the NRA.

There is always some argument to be had regarding if a CEO is worth his cost, but the NRA is not the worst offender on the list.

Furthermore, the “As such, they receive tax breaks out of the pockets of regular folks” is s terrible mischaracterization of taxes and economics.

It ranks right up there is Nancy Pelosi’s “crumbs” statement.

The NRA does not get tax dollars from “regular folks,” the NRA does not pay taxes on revenue related to its specific purpose.  It gets to keep more of the money donated to it.

That should be simple enough to understand, if you had a basic grasp of economics.

Unfortunately for Kasky, he’s on the Left so doesn’t get how money or taxes work.

It seems he knows as much about non-profits as he does guns and gun laws.
