That is a gorgeous Colt Police Positive. I’m going to guess 1920’s vintage from the grips.
This is a collectors’ item, probably an heirloom. My guess is that it was somebody’s grandfather’s gun that has been handed down in the family and was stolen by some piece-of-shit human garbage scumbag and sold on the street for cash or drugs, and then got sold on the street again where it ended up in the hands of the person it was taken from.
This belongs in a hands of a collector who values it and treasures it for the historical piece that it is.
Instead, it will probably be melted down by the NYPD.
This may be the first time I actually root for the notoriously bad NYPD corruption, hoping that some officer who knows what this is makes it walk out of the evidence locker and spares it from the fate of being turned into paperclips or something.
This is why YOU NEED TO BUY A GUN SAFE AND LOCK UP YOUR GUNS!!!
Because that treasured gun you love so much that has been in your family for nearly a century will end up being turned into scrap by the police after they take off some thug who used it to hold up a liquor store if the guy who breaks into your house finds it a box in your closet or under your bed.
And again we see the price of ammo. We don’t know that the pistol was taken from street scum. They make it sound that way.
It could just add easily have been and old man, scared of some punks. Sort of like all the construction and other working stiffs arrested with “gravity” knife. A gravity knife is well defined but in NYC it is a knife a cop can open with one hand.
But ammo prices are so out of hand they sold 4 of thier 6 bullets…

I’ve come to agree more and more with J.Kb and feel that there are a number of good solutions out there that are not marketed as “Gun Safes” that will do an excellent job of protecting our guns.
I’ll say it again. Ocean’s 11 is not coming for your guns. 90% its an addict looking for something to steal sell/trade for drugs. Make it not worth his time to take your guns vs your TV or other things easily replaced with no sentimental value and you’ve won.
