U.S. Olympic Committee to IOC: ‘end prohibition’ of protests at Games

The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee on Thursday took an unprecedented step in support of athletes’ right to protest at the Olympic Games.

The USOPC, in a news release, called on the International Olympic Committee to “end the prohibition of peaceful demonstrations” on global sport’s biggest stage.

It also said it “will not sanction Team USA athletes for respectfully demonstrating in support of racial and social justice for all human beings” – even if the demonstrations run afoul of the IOC’s anti-protest rules.

There goes the Olympics.  It died a woke death.

No longer will there be games.

Every athlete will use ever second of available camera time to push their activism du jour.

Those who aren’t activists will have to fake it and show solidarity or be attacked for not being sufficiently obsequious allies.  Silence is violence as they say.

No one will want to watch several weeks of athletes we’ve never heard of protesting against America on the international stage so viewership will drop below prime time CNN doing an all nude musical review.

Then the Olympics will be dead, woked to death.

  1. Wasn’t it the US Olympic committee that wanted Michael Phelps to let the muslim fencer carry the Flag at the opening ceremonies because they wanted to show solidarity with islam?

Yeah… go woke go broke. And, just play ball, leave the political statements to the experts.

  2. Oh, last Winter Olympics was funny as all get out watching the ‘I’m not going to the White House after I win’ athletes all lose bigly.

Other than that, yeah, mostly the Olympics can FOAD. Double it for the jerks broadcasting it.

  3. “viewership will drop below prime time CNN doing an all nude musical review.”

Thanks for putting an image in my head I never really wanted.

  4. Remember back in 68, the first Black Power guys on the podium with the raised fists? That didn’t kill the Olympics. I doubt this will.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
