Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) displayed guns as props during her announcement of her proposed assault weapons ban. However, the guns on display break DC gun laws- as reported by CNN.

Sen. Feinstein got special permission and does not have to abide by the law.

The funny (sad) part is that they do not see the contradiction. Not the politicians, not the press, not the intelligentsia.

We officially have a Royal Class of Citizens in the United States. They are above the law and get to do as they want without fearing repercussions.

Waiting for the full text of the bill to comment and laugh.

  1. The worst part is I know people(one is sitting on the couch next to me playing Mass Effect 3 as I write this. Another is sitting at a table 3 feet further and playing Minecraft.) who are OK with this. People who think that leaders who will happily require a person to do something they wouldn’t dare do themselves are not only perfectly acceptable, but the ideal.

  2. David Gregory exception, anyone?

I’ve heard (waiting for confirmation) that her proposal limits magazine capacity to 9.

[sarcasm] Now, where on Earth would she get that number? It couldn’t POSSIBLY have ANYTHING to do with 10-round magazines being common due to earlier restrictions, could it? She COULDN’T have picked 9 as the “new standard” just to eliminate as many commonly-owned guns/magazines as possible, right? [/sarcasm]

Yeah, and next they’ll say NY’s law limiting to 7 wasn’t specifically designed to discourage and criminalize “extended” 1911 magazines (8 rounds), surplus M1 Garands (8 round en bloc, and doesn’t take anything else), or 8- and 10-shot revolvers.

      1. Hell man the summary is damning enough.

OTOH if you really want the bill itself… since Swinestine supposedly intro’d it today…it should be available on Congress.com or Thomas.com either tomorrow or the next day.
