Local TV station:

This is plainly saying there are over one people hospitalized right now for Wuhan Virus in Florida.

That is a damnable lie.

As of last night, these were the numbers of Positives, hospitalized and dead since the pandemic began:

They are not even trying to parse or slant what they say anymore. Then again, Meth hookers and child molesters have a better reputation than Journalists nowadays.

  1. Problem is folks just won’t either look up the information or won’t listen when you tell them.

If it isn’t spoonfed to them by the right source and takes more effort than scrolling with a finger many people won’t listen. Can’t believe we’re at this point as a species.

  2. Local News Readers pushed out a story about how the professional TikTok’ers at the local hospitals are so strained and overloaded and that the hospital system is at capacity for Covid patients.

How many Covid inpatients do they have? 302. System wide. This is a hospital system that is 8 hospitals and serves a census statistical area of 775,000 people. And they hospital administrators and propaganda readers are crowing that 302 inpatients is going to bring the system down.

God help us all if theres a real disaster like the nuclear power plant down the road going Little Boy.

  3. Ragnar is spot on correct.

Similar sized census area, but we have a whopping 81 hospitalized. And, by hospitalized I mean in the hospital and testing positive for the virus, not in the hospital BECAUSE of the virus. Of the 600+ conventional hospital rooms available, about 1/3rd o them are empty.

Yet, the daily rag keeps bleating about how the virus is about to overwhelm the healthcare system because some “expert” said so. It is interesting to note that the same expert has been wrong every time since they were first consulted in early March.

No, the virus is not overwhelming the hospitals. Not unless the hospital administrators want to make it look that way.

    1. Oh the hospital CEO is a real piece of shit, i mean, piece of work who is playing the media like a violin. There is not a single time I’ve looked at that guy and didn’t think he had either someone locked up in his basements or bodies buried under the crepe myrtles . . . dude pegs my creep meter. During the initial shutdowns/restrictions, he was on the county update telling sob stories about how overwhelmed the hospitals were and that they didn’t know how they were going to handle all the people dropping dead in the hallways.

The next day, a story ran about the 1000+ nurses and hospital staff being furloughed or laid off because the hospitals were empty.

Last month a hospital one town over (the same system, same dirtbag CEO) was trying to get FEMA and the city government to cover the expansion of the hospital’s ICU because they couldn’t handle the patient load. Buried within the article was a little blurb that prior to the pandemic the ICU was almost always had an 80%+ occupancy rate and also the not that most of the ICU patients were in the ICU because of the patients had delayed seeing a doctor (or couldn’t see a doctor) for a condition and the condition progressed to the point they had to be admitted into the ICU.

So dude furloughs his nurses & staff, cries crocodile tears about being overwhelmed, gets the government to cover large capital project at one of his hospitals . . . bet he gets a pretty decent bonus this year while his people get unemployment. Hospital administrators can go straight to hell with the politicians and new readers.

  4. My favorite is “as deaths mount” — as if the numbers will ever go down! There could be a disease that kills one person every year, and you’ll still be able to say “as the number of dead climb”!

I’d blame it on innumeracy — and I’m sure the newsreaders have no clue themselves — but the real reason is propaganda.

  5. My son is a nurse practitioner who works in the ER. He has had his hours cut because they don’t have as many patients as normal.

  6. The fact they hide is how many of that supposed million have (a) symptoms and (b) are STILL sick, if they ever were? In South Dakota, we are told those numbers and they are a small fraction of the total positive tests.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
