Unfortunately, that is in NYC where you are not only not allowed to carry the proper tools for self-defense but you will face “Justice” if you actually have to take action.

So much for the Governator Hoehole’s promise to ensure the safety of all NYC residents. This is hate speech, illegal in NY, much less NYC. Why don’t the NYPD make arrests? You need to take appropriate precautions.
Asking the question pretty much answers it: they don’t make arrests because the politicians in power support what is happening. They support terrorism and antisemitism.

He kept dismissing the threats and attacks here and actually claimed the college kids all went out for drinks together afterwards. Almost every response of his was ‘but Israel….”. Apparently my BIL is the same way.
My answer would be: “but Israel is, very gently and with far less than proportional violence, defending itself”.
“Very gently” because civilian casualties, in spite of Hamas’s best efforts, are way below what is typical for modern warfare. And “far less than proportional” because the enemy’s goal is killing every Jew in the world, while Israel’s goal is merely to kill every terrorist. They aren’t even aiming to kill every supporter of terrorism (which, if done, would reduce the population of Gaza by about 80%).
