Sec. 81d.

(1) Except as provided in subsections (2), (3), and (4), an individual who assaults, batters, wounds, resists, obstructs, opposes, or endangers a person who the individual knows or has reason to know is performing his or her duties is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 2 years or a fine of not more than $2,000.00, or both.

( “Obstruct” includes the use or threatened use of physical interference or force or a knowing failure to comply with a lawful command.)

Ouch! There is even video of both of them failing to comply to a lawful command… or they have to prove in court that the command was not lawful, and that kiddies is not so easy as they give cops a lot of latitude on that issue.

Now, I might be called and asshole, but I do hope that at least the moron with the rifle gets 366 day for his stunt. He will be used as example to scare our crappy legislators into not passing Open Carry in Florida in the near to mid-range future. A felony conviction is a decent payment for sabotaging Florida Gun Owners’s chance to OC.

I think I am going to have to make this my crusade.

Question for those readers that are handy with home improvements. How hard is to change an inward-opening door to outward-opening?  One of the cool things about South Florida is that the doors open to the outside for hurricane purposes. Cops and Firemen don’t like them much but bad guys do not either as they can’t be kicked down and sure as hell not make it easy to break in.

They are also a bitch for somebody who manages to make you open the door as they have to pull it and clear a space to get in which gives you both time and space to act… not much!

I’ve been watching snippets of the confirmation hearing of Judge Neil Gorsuch for Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

I love Gorsuch.  The man has one of the most brilliant legal minds I have ever seen in action.

I came to Senator Dianne Feinstein’s questioning of Judge Gorshuch.  What a clown-show, dumpster fire that was.  Let’s look at two clips.

First:

“Super-precedent.”  That’s what Roe v. Wade is to her, super-precedent.  There is no real legal definition for that that I can find but it is obvious what it means to her.  To her, Roe is a HIGER precedent than the rest of the Constitution and can’t be overturned.  Personally I don’t think it should be overturned, but I also don’t think that a decision from 1973 is so sacrosanct that it can’t be questioned.

Then we come to this:

What Senator Feinstein was doing was blatant.  She was probing him to determine what he thought the limitations of Heller was.  What can she propose to ban that he wouldn’t rule against.

She was trying to get him to admit that he’d uphold a ban on weapons most useful for the military.  Why?  So she can pull some legal fuckery and argue (like she’s done before) that any “assault weapon” is best suited for the military and justify a ban on semi-autos.

She was asking Judge Gorsuch exactly what size boot she is allowed to put on and how hard she can stomp it in the face of the American people before he will stop her.

To see this play out this way is mind blowing.

It is obvious that the Democrats have a very different copy of the Constitution than is enshrined at the National Archives.  Their version has a Second Amendment that says “An unregulated abortion is the necessary to the security of a liberated Woman, the right of doctors to keep and bear abortifacient , shall not be infringed.”  Your right to keep and bear arms, on the other hand, is limited to what they in their infinite ignorance doesn’t scare them and is completely capricious.

At this point, I am no longer going to argue against Bluexit.  The Liberal concept of a Civil Right is fucked.  To them, it is the right to stomp on others.  Unregulated abortion is the right to murder an unborn child, depriving it of its right to life, for the convenience of the mother.  The right to defend yourself, however, is racist and should be banned.

Since Liberals have decided they want a country where they are all running around stomping on each other’s faces in some gladiatorial oppression Olympics, where getting somebody fired for using the wrong pronoun with with you is the height of social achievement, they can take their boot and go.  I don’t want to live in that society.

In other times, I would have called this a simple mistake.  Now it is a major Freudian Trip and Fall.

And yet, they have the gonads of being preachy and claim righteous status right at their masthead.

And then they cry and accuse their usual suspects of trying to destroy them.

Address somebody as “sir’ or ‘ma’am”, get fired, populous cheers.

So I get in my home office, hear a metal noise, look up and I thank the lord my reflexes are still somewhat good ’cause I caught this sucker on its way down to my dome.

Other than being covered by dust bunnies and dust velociraptors, I was OK. The post-mortem indicates that the cotter pin holding the retaining pin either got loose or broke. The retaining pin worked itself out and eventually the whole thing decided to take a trip south when I just happened to be under. There was a date of manufacturing on it: 1993. And Floridians will tell you we only turn them off in the 2 days of Winter and when they are wobbly because that means they need to be cleaned. We bought the house almost 18 years ago so that is at least how long that fan has bee working without interruption. It was the only fan I did not change when we moved.

At the risk of losing points in my Florida Man Card, I am installing another ceiling fan, and the reason is, have you seen the prices of ceiling fans? OMFG! What the hell happened? $60 for a plain Jane Hunter of Hampton Bay? The equivalent I bought for the living room with lights and remote for $60 is now close to $100. Oh hell no.
I am gonna go with a desk mounted or pedestal and remote control with that sucker. And cheap to boot.
