The NRA is killing 16 toddlers a day with guns! (Or something like that)
Study: 16 children hospitalized daily with gunshot injuries. That is the headline in the Atlanta Journal Constitution which is slightly less scandalous than mine, but I am admitting freely mine is a load of BS while AJC is lying at you with a straight Fake News face.
When Gun Control talks about dead children, this is the image they are trying to evoke in your memory:
And that works specially well if you are careful enough to present the data is such a way it confuses the shit out of the reader whose mind will go with a simpler explanation rather than study the fuck up that is the article.
So we have 16 “children” a day hospitalized by gunshot injuries. You do not get a disclosure of the ages in this group till halfway through the article:
In older children, the background changes. Most of those between 15 and 19 were shot in an intentional assault, according to Silver’s research. This age group makes up the largest number of victims, more than 83 percent.
Two things here: Under the eyes of the law and most rational people, 18 and up is considered adults, not bumbling toddlers chasing butterflies in a meadow in the middle of spring with Kenny G playing a happy tune in the background. Second, why are teen/children and adults/children being shot intentionally rather than accidentally? Are scores of pick up trucks decorated with the logo of the NRA on the doors and the Confederate flag waving from the antenna going through neighborhoods and shooting them while they walk on the way to church? That does not seem the case or you could be sure as shit it would have been reported and documented like crazy.
Why are 13 out of 16 “children” between the ages of 15 and 19 being shot on purpose by parties not described in the article? You cannot tell me that they do not know the reasons, so it begs the question: why is it not being mentioned? Because it is embarrassing? Because it would be an admission of failed Liberal policies? Because it would mean to admit they have failed a constituency deeply tied to their political line? Because nobody wants to admit they have a gang and drug problem in their cities? Because they know the problem is so big now that it is going take a herculean effort to fix and that begins with eliminating failed policies they swore by and are the platform of their political party? And it is cheaper and more politically convenient to allow the killings to go on and blame guns rather than say We Fucked Up?
Dead Bodies mean good fundraising for Gun Control and its political cronies. Never forget that.

Glass Houses
The ACLU issued a travel warning for Americans who go to Texas because the the sanctuary city ban Texas Governor Greg Abbott just signed into law.
Apparently, for the ACLU it is a horrible violation of a person’s rights to have their immigration status verified after an arrest for another crime.
NYC top douchebag Mayor Bill de Blasio attacked Texas on Twitter.
I guess New Yorkers didn’t get the message about it being the safest April in NYC history, because most people don’t believe the crime stats. That’s because de Blasio is fudging the stats. Something that NYC has a history of doing.
Besides, it’s easy to say the crime stats are lower when many offenses were decriminalized by de Blasio.
So color me skeptical of de Blasio’s claims.
All that aside, this is where this post was going.
Years ago, I drove to NYC to visit a buddy of mine that had a college internship in the city. I was driving my old Suburban with Florida plates and an NRA window sticker.
I got pulled over and searched by the NYPD. Yes it was an illegal search. No, I did not consent. I was a dumb college student without the wherewithal to stand up for myself.
I kept being asked about guns and why I was coming to New York.
I was profiled. A car with FL plates and an NRA sticker, I had to be a gun runner.
My civil rights were completely violated.
The ACLU has NEVER stood up for this kind of profiling. NYC liberals are happy to violate any civil rights they don’t agree with.
Here illegally? They will bend over backwards for you.
Have an NRA sticker on your car? They will stick a camera up your ass.
Maybe the NRA should publicly issue a Travel Warning to all 150 Million plus gun owners not to go to NYC. Turnabout is fair play.
Guilty till proven Innocent: Castle Doctrine in other countries.
Mahikeng – A father of two from Leeudoringstad in North West wounded a robber and shot dead his accomplice in a fight on Friday night when a gang of robbers attacked his home.Chris Holtzhausen, 44, is now being accused of attempted murder and murder, Netwerk24 reports.

This is enough to make you sick to your stomach:
Police spokesperson Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said it was standard procedure to open a case of murder or attempted murder after someone dies or is injured in a shooting. He said as soon as the investigation is completed, the dossier would be handed over to the National Prosecuting Authority to decide whether anyone would be prosecuted in connection with the shooting.
Life like this is the goal of Gun Control. Don’t ever buy the line of BS that they don’t mind Castle Doctrine and only oppose Stand Your Ground. Not one of them are able to explain why your life is totally worth saving inside your domicile, but suddenly gets a heavy discounted value once you cross the threshold of you abode into the world.
They don’t care because they have their armed security and in many cases, their own guns. The Little People are unimportant and are only good to pay taxes and vote the way they tell you to vote.

A call to 911: What information is needed?
Scrappycow sent me this article about 911. It is a frigging eye opener, thanks!
1999 saw 26% of 911 calls originate from cell phones, while the number today has tripled to over 75%. With the signal bouncing off of cellphone towers all over the place, it can be more difficult to use a computer system to locate callers. The most reliable way to ensure 911 has the right address is to call from a landline, but even that isn’t flawless. Frequently, dispatchers must rely on descriptions of landmarks and other local information.
When You Call 911 and Nobody Picks Up. – The Development Set.
Besides the obvious part that we can’t do much directly to improve the system and beating the old cowbell of being prepared to keep a victim alive till advanced help arrives, I realized I have forgotten one detail: The information that you need to pass to 911 so help can arrive as fast as possible.
So, what kind of information do we need to have for sure when calling 911 (or ordering to call 911 if your hands are gloved and busy) so help arrives fast and accurately? I contacted the hive mind in Facebook where I am lucky to know rescue personnel and cops and right there you got another inkling of the 911 problem: The answers tended to be as varied as the systems for processing the calls and who was responding which tended to be full computer systems with “smart” algorithms to old school checklists.
But if anything, everybody agreed on two main things: What is the nature of the emergency and Location.
The first one is simply resource management that need to be understood: Not all calls require the same equipment and personnel or all of it as you are not the only person going through shit. Your fiancée might be in pain after breaking a leg and needs to be taken to a hospital, but little Jimmy who fell of the balcony, hit his head and is unresponsive has the priority no matter how much it pisses you off. It is called triage.
tri·age: The assignment of degrees of urgency to wounds or illnesses to decide the order of treatment of a large number of patients or casualties.
Now, be accurate. do not exaggerate the injuries just to get Responders faster. Don’t be an asshole that way. There is a reason you trained and are prepared to help somebody.
Next is location and trust me when I tell you, this one is not as easy as it seems. If you read the article, you are now having a newfound respect for the shit sandwich that directing help toward your location can be. Now, you are not helping if you do not accurately inform 911 where you are. Sure, if you are home and your neighbor’s house catches on fire, routing the Fire Department is a piece of cake. But how about the car accident in the middle of a highway you take very day and suddenly realize you have no idea which mile marker you are or in between what exits you might be because you don’t use them? Can you even tell if you are north/south/east/west bound? Are you in control enough to find out and even include some landmarks to help navigation?
After that, just answer the questions you will be asked as best as you can. It seems every department has a different set of questions and procedures and it is just better off follow the flow that anything else. But Nature of the Call and Location appear to be universal. Get that info fast and accurate so you can relay it the same way.
