Unexpected Time Off

Sorry about this weekend.  I had big plans and stuff I wanted to do.

Then SOMEBODY decided the three day weekend would be the perfect time to crash course potty train Mr. Three-Year-Old.

I am tired and frazzled, my house smells like pee, and my washing machine and dryer have been running non-stop since Friday night.

I need a weekend from my weekend.

Florida: So much truth in the meme

Hand to God this is right in the money.  Yesterday I was watching the Weather Channel and saw that not only Irma had gone to Cat 3 but it is expected to go Cat 4. I got up, located my gas cans, went with the missus to the gas station where I proceeded to fill them up, filled the truck u, returned home pulled the generator out & got a test run out of it.

I am going through the checklist but other than the hurricane panels, we have pretty much everything ready. That means only one thing:

The damn hurricane will probably miss us.

No that there is something wrong with that.

Help some friends and family of Say Uncle.

I have family in Houston. Their neighborhood was hit pretty hard. They got out and are OK. But the cleanup is starting. And their neighborhood has set up an Amazon Wishlist for cleanup supplies. If you’re feeling charitable, I’d appreciate any help you could offer.

Thanks.

As I always say, if you can contribute the equivalent of one or two boxes of cheap practice ammo, you’ll be helping and won’t set you back much.

Florida Fake Cop

Oh dear God.

One driver who refused to stop called FHP when Chang tried to pull him over while driving a dark-tinted Toyota Camry, troopers said. The driver told troopers that Chang had pulled alongside him and flashed a badge. When the driver didn’t stop, Chang drove in front of the car and slowed down, at which time the driver called for help, troopers said. Chang was stopped near mile marker 41 in Broward County. Troopers found a concealed weapons permit badge hanging around Chang’s neck and a .357 revolver behind the passenger seat, a media release said.

Not enhancing the popularity of the already maligned badges.  Save your money and use it to buy ammo or a spare magazine: it will serve you better.

Hat tip Jeff S.

Once again, it is the FOUR RULES, not the Four Suggestions.

Now, there is no excuse. If you don’t know where the final resting lace of your bullet is, you should not be shooting it.

However, the death is still under investigation and they don’t know yet if it was an accidental shooting or what.

But I am not surprised if for some, the irresponsible shooting in the Glades is fueled in part by signs like this.

If there was a state office who is/was brutally abusing its power in a gun control effort, South Florida Water Management District is the one.  Old heads will remember the campaign against Pop’s range and his widow years ago. They wanted the land and they tried their best to get it trying to pull all kind of trickery both legal and “scientific.” They finally had to give up when shooters came together to help and the office itself was gravelly defunded.  Still to this day, SFWMD provokes not very nice visceral reactions among South Florida shooters.

So yes, you can say “EFF YOU!” but do it safely.
