I’m not sure everyone has heard about the massive Kidde fire extinguisher recall, but Kidde is the giant in the field and more than 40 million fire extinguishers are affected.  There are two lines of fire extinguishers affected: plastic-handled, and push button.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of more than 40 million Kidde disposable fire extinguishers Thursday, saying they may malfunction during an emergency.

The faulty extinguishers are equipped with plastic handles and push-buttons and can become clogged. Their nozzles also may detach with enough force “to pose an impact hazard,” the CPSC said.

The recall covers 134 models of Kidde plastic-handle fire extinguishers manufactured between 1973 and August 15, 2017, including models that were recalled in 2009 and 2015. It also includes eight push-button models manufactured between 1995 and September 22, 2017.

The company has set up a web page with a couple of pages to help you determine if your fire extinguishers are included – Kidde labels their products for dozens of companies.  We just spent the evening inspecting the four we have in various places around the house, and all but one are affected.

Replacements can be applied for online.

If Kidde determines that you have an affected model, the company says it will send you a replacement within 10 to 15 business days. The new extinguishers contain metal parts instead of plastic.

I just checked the two we have and both are on the list. The push-button type is already reported, but the plastic handle page is not processing, so I’ll keep at it till it croaks or somebody fixes it.

This is not something to disregard, check your extinguishers ASAP.

So what happened to Mr. Flescher?

Police said 93-year-old Henry Flescher was heading westbound on Ives Dairy Road in Aventura when he made a wrong turn onto the train tracks near West Dixie Highway, at around 7:20 p.m.

“I made the quick curve too fast, on the side there,” said Flescher, “because it’s very dark there.”
All of a sudden, his vehicle’s wheels became stuck on the tracks as a Florida East Coast freight train heading northbound was fast approaching.
“And then the train is coming, and I couldn’t get out,” said Flescher.

And what Ms. Grant do to get so prominent mention alongside the potential victim?

Natalie Grant was sitting in her car feet away from Flescher. When she saw what was happening, she took out her iPhone and began recording.

She said other good Samaritans pulled Flescher out of the car in the nick of time. “Honestly, it was insane,” she said.

Grant typed “OMG!” over the dramatic footage showing the train nearing Flescher’s sedan. “‘OMG’ means ‘oh, my gosh,’ like, ‘what is going on?’” she said.

She took a video and that is prominent enough to make her famous. I am not making this crap up. The Good Samaritans get mentioned because somebody had to rescue Mr. Flescher or the story would not make sense.

Why is WSVN glamorizing the useless action of this bubble head?

It is fixed! Amazingly I had proper ratchet socket (Or close enough, this kit was not 8mm) and even though the space was rather constricted, I managed to put things back together in 10 minutes… and did not even bleed for once.

Just about half of all computer science majors are white guys, but fuck them.  The DNC doesn’t have time for them.  It’s not like they are people too, who went to college, have student loans and expenses, need jobs, and want to work.  They are “already in the majority” so why should they ever be considered for a job?

It’s like these people are going out of their way to prove every paranoid, white supremacist conspiracy theory right.

Progressives: “We want the Confederate statues torn down, they are monuments to racism.”

White Nationalists: “That’s our heritage, where is it going to stop?  First it’s Lee next it will be Washington.”

Progressives: “Don’t be paranoid.”

Progressives: “Hold my beer, Abe and George are coming down.”

It only seems to be getting worse.

White Supremacists: “Its time for a race war.  RaHoWa!”

Progressives: “You want to put that on the calendar for November 4th?“

Dear sweet lord, please make them stop.

I’d say if they were interested in winning elections, they are their own worst enemies; but with this attitude they are every decent person’s worst enemies.
