50 years of Fake News.

President Trump made the term “Fake News” popular about a year and a half, maybe two years ago.

Gun Owners have been living and dealing with Fake News for 50 years.

Lyndon B. Johnson signs the Gun Control Act on October 22, 1968.

On October 22,  we will be “commemorating” the 50 years of the Gun Control Act of 1968. It has been non-stop lies about since before that, but GCA68 is a defining date: Both Senate and House were under the control of the Democrats and it began the accelerated erosion of Gun Rights in the USA. It also created new fervor for those who wanted to save our Bill of Rights. In 1974, the Second Amendment Foundation was created and began the legal study of gun laws and the Second Amendment. The next year came the Cincinnati Revolt where the old school NRA leadership who had gone as far as to support GCA68 was removed and new blood came in not only to maintain the original programs of teaching firearms safety, marksmanship and hunting but to lobby for the Second Amendment because without it, there would be no teaching firearms safety, marksmanship, hunting or much Freedom left in this country.

Today the barrage of Fake News against Gun Rights is something to behold, but then again we are armed with High Capacity access to Social Media: The “Assault Weapon” of the Fake News Wars. Millions of us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and the rest can do withstand and even overcome the tide of information BS against us.

And if you have any doubt how effective we are, just realize that Twitter and YouTube are openly banning accounts from conservatives or Gun Rights people who dare criticize CNN’s Children’s Crusade under the excuse of protecting them against bullies.

But they have a problem. Even with all their algorithms and filters and hired hands to clean the waves:

"Can't Stop The Signal, Mal."
“Can’t Stop The Signal, Mal.”

Keep up the fight. Remember, they are good a polishing the turd and try to make it look like we are losing. We only lose if we give up.

Pester your State and Federal representatives. Make them aware that you are a gun owner that can actually vote and will, not a Pod-Eating Teen with a script from CNN.

I warned you a while back that Gun Control as organized movement is on it way to oblivion, but at the same time, they were not going to go gently into the night. They will cheat, they will lie and they will engage in any kind of despicable conduct possible so they can survive. There is both money and power in Gun Control and they do not want to lose that. They will have the morals of mobsters about to lose business.

Prepare yourselves.

#BoycottNRA

Let’s review:

Nick Cruz was known by students, teachers and the School authorities to be disruptive, engage in vandalism and prone to be violent, so #BoycottNRA.

As it is coming out now, Nick Cruz had a police history of school crimes scrubbed because it does not look good for Broward Sheriff’s Office to show they had no control on School crime and make their stats look shitty, so #BoycottNRA.

Broward Sheriff’s Office was called over 30 times via 911 to Nick Cruz’s home for domestic issues. Apparently there was never any kind of resolution so #BoycottNRA.

Nick Cruz was examined by school experts who found out he was cutting himself in Snapchat and possibly suffering depression, so #BoycottNRA.

None of the Government officials deemed or had the guts to declare the kid to be a danger, so nothing went into the official record which allowed Nick Cruz to pass the Background Check and buy a rifle, so #BoycottNRA.

When Nick Cruz walked  inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and started to shoot people, Broward Sheriff Office Deputy Scot Peterson (School Resource Officer) hid outside the building behind hard cover while the students under his alleged protection were massacred, so #BoycottNRA.

It totally makes sense to #BoycottNRA… in the mind of Liberals only.
This information is not only available to everybody, but actually being reported by the Media elements that are pushing this Children’s Crusade and #BoycottNRA.

Does anybody else still believe the Media is not outright lying and misinforming the public?

I stand on my decision not to give them the benefit of the doubt anymore.

Can we clarify the ‘armed teacher’ thing?

Over the last 10 days, I’ve heard a lot about “arming teachers.”  It is something my wife brought up to me.

I need to say that is the shitiest rhetoric on this subject.

Are we talking about taking teachers who have never shot a gun before, and may even be anti gun themselves, and giving them one training session and a gun and sticking them back in the classroom?

Because that is a terrible fucking idea.

I know that “IDPA/USPSA isn’t a firefight, that stuff will get you killed” (/sarc/) but to use it as an example, when I got back into it, it took me a while to get over the “first stage jitters.”  The timer went *BEEP* and erased all the stage plans I had made during the walk through.  If I don’t shoot for a little bit, I’ll still get a little jumpy on the first stage.  I had the chance to talk to a professional shooter and one of the things he said is that one of the big things that separates a pro from am amateur is having had that timer go *BEEP* so many times that you stay focused and remain collected every time.

And that’s in a game.  Make it life and death when you are not expecting it and it’s going to be worse.

So a teacher who has never shot before, sent off to do two days worth of training, and hasn’t shot since is going to be a hair above worthless.

On the other hand are we talking about letting teachers or administrators who already have CCW permits and who want to carry, carry in schools?  Will we be providing them with additional training?

That is something I can get behind.  That is a person who has some familiarity with guns.  Who is more likely to go out on a weekend and shoot and maintain a minimal skill level.

Remember, the Israeli teacher carrying a rifle on a field trip had just spent two years on active service in the Israeli army.

I know the antis will lie and distort the truth at every turn.  They do it every day.  That’s why we need to control the language of this conversation.

Arm the teachers” sounds unpalatable.  It conjures up an image of forcing sweet, little, old, Mrs Crabapple to turn into John McClane, and sounds agressive (forcing guns on people who don’t want them).

Something more along the lines of “allow teachers with CCW permit to carry in schools” is entirely honest.  It’s less aggressive and the positive statistics on our side.

I really want pro gun people who get media interviews to stop saying “arm the teachers.”  If we let the antis dictate the language, we will lose.

They really hate the idea of arming Teachers.

This is not to say that teachers would take to using their weapons to discipline black and brown children. But there is precedent for physical escalation in confrontations between young people of color and armed authorities. What happens in confrontations between teachers and students when guns are added to that mix? How would students of color fare in armed and fortified schools, where at least some teachers are on the lookout for potential shooters?
Arming Teachers Would Endanger Students of Color – Slate.

But of course we are going to recycle all the old Concealed Carry and Campus Carry excuses while adding a dash of Race Card and use them against Teacher Carry.

So according to Slate, only White teachers will carry concealed in school and will target kids that misbehave who are exclusively minorities, white kids do not do stupid shit in school.

Translation: Slate Magazine thinks  Black and Latino teachers are too dumb to carry guns and Black and Latino students are the only ones creating problems in school.

This needs to be hammered home

I saw Miguel’s post Broward County Sheriff’s Office keep adding to the crap pile, and his follow up And interesting question and I think we know the answer, and now it is time for me to double down on that.

I have posted this video before, but I am going to post it again.

(Yes, it is from Cracked.  I know they have turned into a bunch of SJWs.  This video is still worthwhile.)

All of the details in that video are true.

Maksim Gelman murdered four people.

The police hid in the conductors car, behind a locked door, and watched as Joe Lozito was stabbed repeatedly.

Joe Lozito sued the NYPD.  Their response was “fuck you civilian, we don’t have to do shit to protect you.”  A judge agreed.

There are two Supreme Court cases and one Court of Appeals case that should be burned into the soul of every American on both sides of the gun debate.

Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales

DeShaney v. Winnebago County

Warren v. District of Columbia

legal precedent in the United States is very clear.  You can call the police and tell them you are being attacked, you can report a history of violence by a person to the police, you can get a restraining order against that person, and the police have no duty to intervene on your behalf and help you.  They can stand there, with their dick in one hand and their other thumb up their ass, and watch you die and don’t have to do fuck all to try and prevent it.

I can guarantee you that the only reason that School Resources Officer resigned was because Sheriff Israel ended up with egg on his face after news of the SRO hiding outside like a chicken-shit broke following the CNN town hall.  Had the Sheriff not tired to milk his 15 minutes of fame on CNN, that shit would have been ignored just like the 39 calls to the Cruz house.

I can also guarantee that the SRO thought he had it made.  He didn’t have to be in a patrol car, cruising around Broward county, doing traffic stops (the leading cause of death for police officers).  An easy cake walk job.  Until the struck-by-lightning-like-odds of a school shooting happening and Deputy Goldbricker pulled a Brave Sir Robin.

The entirety of the “you don’t need a gun to protect yourself, just call the police” argument is built on lies and horseshit.

The old refrain from CCW advocates is “when seconds count, the police are minutes away.”  In reality it should be “when seconds count, the police are under no obligation to give a fuck and risk their own lives for you.

Forget the FBI.  Forget the 39 calls to the Cruz home.  Forget the school deferment program.

What the anti gun crowd needs to be held to the fire about is that.  Why should we put our lives in the hands of people with the qualified immunity to stand there and watch us die.

Florida Senate to take School Safety Bill (Armed Teachers) ?

TALLAHASSEE
Florida Senate President Joe Negron said Thursday that he supports arming school teachers, endorsing a controversial proposal that has been severely criticized by educators, law enforcement and even U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, the former speaker of the Florida House…

…Negron asserts that there will be training for the teachers. It’s likely to be based on a program created by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, who allows teachers who want to be armed to go through specialized training.
They would then be able to carry a concealed gun on K-12 campuses, and only top administrators would know who they are.
“The concept of having teachers who are trained and have appropriate credentials being able to be armed to protect students, I would support that,” said Negron.

Florida Senate president’s support for arming teachers sets up showdown on gun bills | Miami Herald

I am going to assume that the quotes were all obtained before it was known that The School Resource Officer, Deputy Scot Peterson did not go after the shooter inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. They should be introduced to the concept of No Duty to Protect and Castle Rock v. Gonzales.

“The notion that my kids are going to school with teachers that are armed with a weapon is not something that, quite frankly, I’m comfortable with,” Rubio said Wednesday during a prime-time nationally televised CNN town hall meeting.

By the way Senator, go check if Jeb Bush had a job for you in his staff. Do not bother with re-election.

“Not on my watch will we ever support the idea of arming teachers with guns in our classrooms,” said Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho on Twitter. “They are armed with inspiration, they instruct, they lead, and they have a right to do it safely without being the ones tasked with guaranteeing it for everyone else.”

Basically Carvalho is saying his teachers are too stupid to properly manipulate a firearm. I do hope all teachers in Miami-Dade take public transportation because driving is much more complicated than shooting.

Teachers and gun control advocates see a needless risk, from a gun falling into the hands of a student to an educator getting shot by police who mistake a teacher with a gun for a bad guy.
“Just think of how many things that could go wrong with that,” said Kristin Brown, co-president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.

Worse than 15 kids shot to death by a deranged classmate who was not stopped by either Federal or Local LEOs? That kind of worse?

The Senate bill is 1236 and you can go check it out under “Bill Text.” We expect a flood of bad gun bills to be introduced it in the Senate and the House tomorrow. I’ll try and keep up.
