Brady being disingenuous. They mix apples with oranges to get a crankcase.

You guys know I love to quote from the movie Absence of Malice and specifically this part which is the end of the film.

And the Brady Campaign is accurate but far from the truth they owe to the public. Kids dying of heart attack? If they have a congenital condition, of course there is a chance they will die, but that is going to be an almost statistically low number compared with the adults that have been chomping MacDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken with gallons of coffee as chasers for decades as they build a glorious case of arteriosclerosis. And as much as I have observed, I have not seen kids in pre-school or elementary puffing a two-pack a day count of cigarettes like adults do or working removing the debris around the Fukijama nuclear facility or carrying buckets of dioxin to a chemical recycling facility.

And if you try the link provided in the tweet, instead of taking you to the “study” it goes straight to (drum roll) a donations page.

Allow me to do something similar in the hope I can open you hearts and wallets and you make a donation to this blog.

“New studies report that you have a greater chance of dying from a gun-related incident than from a Space Station accident. Please give me money.”

Watch the news this weekend

The 2018 midterm election is next Tuesday, barely 4 days away.

The jobs report just dropped and the headline for Market Watch is:

Wages rise at fastest pace in nine years as U.S. adds 250,000 jobs in October

I could go into the details, but this chart sums it all up nicely.

For all the crap we’ve seen and heard about Russia, Stormy Daniels, dog whistles, and everything else, the real effect of Trump and the GOP is in those numbers.

Right now the Democrats are all but shitting themselves over this.

If middle America goes to the polls on Tuesday with this in first and foremost in their minds, the Blue Wave is toast.

It is going to be an amazing news cycle this weekend to watch how the Left leaning media is going to try and couch this as bad or not Trump’s doing, or just bury it completely.

What the GOP needs to do for the next 100 hours until the polls close on Tuesday is not shut up about 250,000 jobs per month created and fastest wage growth in a decade.  Everything else is a distraction.

Americans need to walk into the polls thinking “a vote for the Republican means a raise for me.”

Antisemitism in NY caused by Trump and the Extreme Right? Not so fast.

Via Slow Facts.

During the past 22 months, not one person caught or identified as the aggressor in an anti-Semitic hate crime has been associated with a far right-wing group, Mark Molinari, commanding officer of the police department’s Hate Crimes Task Force, told me.

Is It Safe to Be Jewish in New York?

Elder of Ziyon brings it into focus:

22 months is how long Donald Trump has been in office.

And how many politicians from NYC have sent mailer and funding request using the recent Pittsburg shooting and accusing Trump and the GOP of hate while their city is being overrun by Jew Haters?

But as long as the New York Jewish community think it is OK to be willing victims, there is nothing we can do to keep them safe.

I have not slept much and in one of those few moments of slumber, I feel somebody filled my head with insulating foam.  I am also doing the I am hot/I am cold tango and I am pretty sure the bookcase in the bathroom will be put to good use sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, I leave you with this video of a hornets’ nest. Two thoughts: If you are suddenly het with the need to use the bathroom, you better be wearing a diaper. Secondly, the sumbitches will live underground?

Her parents failed her

Another day, another Lefty tantrum.

On any other day I’d just ignore it, but then she said “Nazis are shooting my people.”  From that, I presume that she’s Jewish.

I’ve written two posts praising Rabbi Jeffery Meyers for his behavior after the Tree of Life shooting.  He had every opportunity to elevate his status in the #Resistance by denouncing Trump, blaming the President or the GOP (or both) for the shooting, calling Trump a Nazi or white supremacist, or engaging in any of the other histrionics that the radical Left has been.  He would have been paraded around on the shoulders of Leftists and made into a hero.

Instead he did the patriotic thing and welcomed the President and First Family to the memorial as an American citizen, discovered that Trump and First Family are decent people, and said so to the media.  For this Rabbi Meyers has been insulted, called a Nazi supporter, a dupe, told he was suckered by a conman, and threaded with violence.

This girl is the polar opposite of Rabbi Meyers and it is painful to watch.  She is every bit an embarrassment to the Jewish community as Rabbi Meyers has been an paragon of it.

This girl’s assertion that Republican students supporting Ron DeSantis, and by extension Trump, is unhinged.

I severely doubt Nazi Trump would have brought his Orthodox daughter (who dresses shomer shabbos) and and son-in-law to a Synagogue memorial to lay stones.

Yesterday, the Ron DeSantis campaign tweeted this:

Hard to believe that guy is a Nazi.

This girl has bough into the media’s linguistic misdirection and  deliberate conflation of the evils of ethno-nationalism with the patriotic idea of prioritizing the needs of your citizens (call it Classical Nationalism).

Worse, she supports communism.  Another student points out that she is wearing a Hammer and Sickle button.  That being the symbol of the Soviet Union.

I guess this poor girl never learned about Stalin’s mass murder and exile of Soviet Jews.  Or that he, like Hitler, targeted Jewish Bolsheviks.  It’s just that Stalin killed so many people, that his antisemitism and murder of millions of Soviet Jews just ended up obscured by his hatred and mass murder of eight million Ukrainians and about 10 million other Soviet citizens.

She goes on to mock the idea the the Nazis were socialists.  I had to look this up.  It seems that the prevailing argument that the Nazis were not socialists comes from the fact that Hitler was not an “egalitarian socialist” who wanted to eradicate socioeconomic class and have the means of production owned by the people.

“Egalitarian Socialism” is the euphemism for Marxism, and Hitler wasn’t a Marxist.  Rather than try to take over the means of production by violent revolution, the way the Soviets did, he made the (non-Jewish) owners of all the major German industries members of the political class and nationalized their industries.  The result was the same, with a centrally planned economy, goverment mandated wages, and all the same required oppression.

Marx killed the business owners and put his friends in the government in charge.  Hitler made the business owners his friends and put them in the government.

Since the hallmark of Socialism is a centrally planned economy, they are both two terrible flavors from the same bag of suckers.  The essential conflict between Hitler and Stalin wasn’t ideology, it was who was going to be in charge.

A well educated person would know this.

Instead, this girl was taught:

GOP = Right Wing = Nazis = evil
Socialist = Left Wing = good intentions.

Only a person of incalculable ignorance would side with the Communists.  Double that for a Jew who would side with the party to Stalin.

This girl’s parents failed her.  They failed to teach her history or critical thinking.

They created an ignorant  and petulant child who knows nothing about the world but is totally assured that she is right in her morals.

I hope her parents see this and have a long sit down with her – unless they are a crazy as she is.

God help her, because her Commie friends won’t.

They are going to use your 2A rights against you

I saw this one on the news last night and I couldn’t believe it.  I had to look it up and it seems to be accurate and confirmed.

North Dakota Democrats to hunters: Voting could cost you your hunting license

Democrats are warning hunters if they show up at the polls they may miss out on the next hunting season. The ads are well-designed and authoritative and the message, misleading: “Attention Hunters: Voting in North Dakota could cost you your out-of-state hunting licenses.” Put another way, it seems the party is telling voters that they can’t exercise one right without losing another.

North Dakota columnist Rob Port was the first to spot the misinformation campaign, and a cursory search using Facebook’s searchable database tool confirms it is the North Dakota Democratic Party behind the ads. But while the ads are real, when contacted by Port, the secretary of state and the North Dakota Game and Fish Department couldn’t think of any reason why voting would endanger a hunting license.

Fortunately for hunters and unfortunately for North Dakota Democrats hunters and law abiding gun owners, by and large, work very hard to know the law and understand the regulations that govern them because remaining law abiding citizens and not losing our licenses and rights by doing something stupid is very important to us.

A statement like this is something that a hunter would want to verify.

Rob Port did just than and was told it was bullshit by the state agencies in charge.

I’ve been writing about politics for more than 15 years now, and this is the first time I’ve ever heard of something like this.

I contacted Secretary of State Al Jaeger and asked if he’d ever heard of this claim before. “No,” he told me. “We’re not involved at all in the requirements for getting a hunting license. A question like what you have needs to be directed to the Game & Fish Department. I doubt that there’s any connection.”

“We’ve never heard of that,” Randy Meissner, the licensing manager for North Dakota Game & Fish, told me when I contacted him and read him the text of the ad. I sent him the links and screenshots for the ad and he said he was going to run the claim by his administration.

Good, I hope there is an investigation.

Obviously most states have a distinction between resident hunting and fishing licenses and non-resident licenses. I suppose the ad could be making an allusion to that, but it doesn’t make the distinction. A plain reading could lead a North Dakota voter to believe that their perfectly legal, non-resident hunting or fishing license in South Dakota or Minnesota could be at jeopardy from voting.

At best, this ad is deeply irresponsible. And a bit hypocritical coming as it does at a time when North Dakota Democrats are accusing the Republican legislative majority in the state of trying to suppress Native American votes with voter ID requirements.

As usual, this is Leftist projection.

It is clearly targeting a core Republican demographic, white male gun owners.  Even as the gun community becomes more diverse, hunters are still overwhelmingly white men.  (Making hunting more diverse is something the hunting community needs to do and how to do that is a discussion for a different post.)

I guarantee that some staffer who believes the Liberal stereotype that all hunters are stupid rednecks though this was a great way to scare them away from the polls.

Just like the campaign to get anti gun activist to watch out for and report people suspected of carrying concealed in a polling place (even in states where it is legal) their goal here is to use your Second Amendment rights to keep you from voting.

My only hope here is that as the news of this monumentally unethical tactic spreads, it motivates gun owners to vote against the party that tried to do this to them.
