Hey Catholics, welcome to the club

I don’t usually say this about Democrats, but Senator Tulsi Gabbard is dead right about this aspect of religious freedom and I must give her credit where credit is due.

Also, this kind of level headed rationality just nuked her chances at being the Dem’s 2020 nominee.

Elected leaders who weaponize religion are playing a dangerous game

For too long in our country, politicians have weaponized religion for their own selfish gain, fomenting bigotry, fears and suspicions based on the faith, religion or spiritual practices of their political opponents.

Good opening.  Now we skip ahead through the boilerplate to the real meat and potatoes of her OpEd.

While I oppose the nomination of Brian Buescher to the U.S. District Court in Nebraska, I stand strongly against those who are fomenting religious bigotry, citing as disqualifiers Buescher’s Catholicism and his affiliation with the Knights of Columbus. If Buescher is “unqualified” because of his Catholicism and affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, then President John F. Kennedy, and the ‘liberal lion of the Senate’ Ted Kennedy would have been “unqualified” for the same reasons.

Article 6 of the U.S. Constitution clearly states that there “shall be no religious test” for any seeking to serve in public office.

No American should be told that his or her public service is unwelcome because “the dogma lives loudly within you” as Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said to Amy Coney Barrett during her confirmation hearings in 2017 to serve as U.S. Circuit Court judge in the 7th Circuit.

Yes.  This a thousand times.

This from the Washington Examiner.

Dianne Feinstein renews her decades-long crusade against Catholic judges

U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein again is coming awfully close to expressing anti-Catholic bigotry and close to imposing an unconstitutional “religious test” upon federal judges. Outrageously, several fellow Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are following her lead.

In a committee hearing Wednesday on the nomination of Notre Dame Law School Professor Amy Coney Barrett for a spot on the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, Feinstein and her Democratic colleagues pelted Barrett with questions about her Catholic faith and its relation to duties as a federal judge.

“When you read your speeches, the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you,” said Feinstein of California, the committee’s ranking Democrat. “And that’s of concern when you come to big issues that large numbers of people have fought for, for years in this country.”

Abortion has become a sacrament of Progressivism.  It is a[n] [un]holy act in which a women can declare her independence from The Patriarchy by killing her unborn child for the inconvenience it will be for her in her quest to obtain mammon on the alter of careerism.

This is of course why we are now awash with elderly feminists, bitter at spending their golden years alone with some cats and a painful emptiness deep inside.  Or crap like this video of a woman explaining to children why she had an abortion, clearly trying harder to convince herself that she didn’t make a mistake and isn’t feeling regret, than she is trying to convince those kids anything about abortion rights.

But I digress…

The Catholic Church in America is still the last bastion against abortion.  It is still a sin by Catholic doctrine, and despite this commie Pope’s attempt at bringing about the Prophecy of Saint Malachy by making the Church go woke, American Catholics, by and large, are not changing their minds on this.

Because of this, the Catholic Church must be banished from politics.  Catholics-in-name-only like Nanci Pelosi, who support abortion and don’t practice anything that looks like actual Catholicism are accepted.

They assume that any actual practicing faithful Catholic judge might be tempted to rule in favor of any anti-abortion challenge and must be destroyed, or at least kept as far away from the bench as possible.

The Catholic doctrine that still considers homosexuality and premarital sex a sin put Catholicism at odds with the increasingly devil-may-care libertine culture of the Left.  I doubt you see many go-to-church-on-Sunday Catholics thinking that a 10 year old Drag Queen is “empowering.”

The Catholic Church is still one of the largest charity organizations in America, and we all know that religious charity is antithetical to the welfare state and goverment dependency.

The Progressive Democrats are walking a fine line, because they want to secure the Hispanic vote but the Hispanic community has a very strong Catholic faith.  They know too much anti-Catholic and they risk turning away the Hispanic community.  As more and more young Hispanics become Progressive in school, and more and more abuleitas with their sanots who made their grand kids go to Church die off, the anti-Catholic furor will increase.

So congratulations Catholics, you are persona non grata to the Progressive Democrat party.  The anti-Catholic bigotry isn’t quite as virulent yet as their Antisemitism, but it will get there.

My message to moderate Catholics is the same as it is to moderate Jews:

Do you really want to be part of a party that hates your for you beliefs?

The floods of Lying already open for the 2019 Florida Legislative Session.

Via NRA-ILA

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CAPITOL NEWS SERVICE) – Newly-proposed legislation filed by Democratic state lawmakers wants to close loopholes that exempt private gun sales from background checks…

…“Eighty percent of guns used in violent crimes, were purchased without a background check,” said Representative Margaret Good.

Bill filed to create universal background checks for gun buyers

Representative Margaret Good

That would be HB – 135 Transfer of Firearms which is one of the Gun Control’s useless Holy Grails. I understand why she is lying: 1) Media won’t do a fact check even if it kills them and 2) we have a new slate of young voters who are just ripe to have their brains filled with bullshit. The same people who not long ago did the tide Pod challenge and now are starting to engage in the Bird Box Challenge, will not bother to actually use due diligence and find out the truth and find out that most guns used in crime come not from private sales of law-abiding individuals but illegal trafficking in stolen firearms.

Now, in all probability, she is trying to be smart/sneaky and say that purchasing a gun is purchasing a gun, whether among good citizens or felons. It is like saying that buying the hot rod you saw your neighbor build is the same as Ramon selling a carjacked Impala to a chop shop in Opa-Locka. Lying sacks of political manure will do that kind of thing betting that people will not catch up till it is too late, but it is OK to do because it is for their “safety.”

Parkland Kid Cameron Kasky finally admits he is not a victim nor a survivor.

J. Kb. warned me  about his tweets.

I have been pounding on the theme of “survivors” since I read about Emma Gonzalez saying she was in the auditorium when the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School began.  I also believe David Hogg was not in Building 12 but probably in Building 7 when Nikolas Cruz began his killing spree. and as much as I have tried, I can’t find a firm reference where was he hiding.  You’d figure if he was in Building 12 where the shooting occurred, he’d blast it high and wide, right?

The auditorium is Building 8.

It is the second tweet that is illustrative: He was comfortable with the label.  The label gave him gravitas, gave him importance and access to the media to push for gun control. And long as the Parkland Kids were the ben and Jerry flavor of the Liberal Month, they could do or say whatever and they were untouchable. He was a hero for Gun Control, he was famous, probably got laid and surely got swag, why would he relinquish the cape?

Alas, all good times come to pass in the Gun Control PR boat. The once celebrities that had all doors open, sudden realized that they come with an expiration date and they are about to cross it.  In the Parkland Kid’s case, they are already a couple of months or more pass the time they were tossed into the political compost bin.

Two years ago, I would say he realized the mistake he made and was trying to apologize and make amends. Unfortunately my reservoir labeled “Benefit of the Doubt” not only is empty but now holds a colony of meerkats. I believe somebody came to him, tired of his crap and told him straight and without decorations that being somewhere in the same zip code when the massacre occurred did not make him a victim.   Not being scandal proof nor covered in Media Teflon anymore, decided to cut his loses and sort of admit a little bit of wrongdoing.

Cameron Kasky climbed over the bodies of his fellow students long after the shooting was over and used them to prop himself high while waving the “gun safety” banner. That should be his only claim to fame.

He improved over the traditional tap-dancing on blood of the victims, I give him that.

Jews and the future of the DNC

I caught this story on Twitchy.

Freshman Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who has been celebrated as the US’ first Palestinian-American Congresswoman, had a meeting with a man who is is a total supporter of Hezbollah.

Such a sweet picture.

Such an obscene Jew hater.

Rep. Tlaib was the Member of Congress who accused supporters of Israel in the GOP of having dual loyalty and put the Post-it note on the map calling Israel “Palestine” which supports the Hamas charter of “drive the Jews into the sea.”

This was over a bill drafted by Senator Marco Rubio to allow states to push back on BDS.  Forty-three Democrats fought the bill arguing it’s a free speech issue, but the reality of BDS has been pretty awful.

It’s not just the targeting of Israeli business by a small group of radical Jew haters, Israeli researchers and professors have been frozen out of doing medical research and attending conferences hosted by universities that support BDS, Israeli exchange students have been sent home without credit, even US students have been denied letters of recommendation and support for wanting to study in Israel.

The there was Freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who Tweeted this about Israel.

And of course all the support Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has gotten from Linda Sarsour and the Women’s March.

The Freshmen class of the Democrats is strikingly Jew hattery.

Not just sort of mild stuff, but total “let’s support terrorism and get rid of Israel” level hatred.

Old Jewish Democrats are no going to change parties.  They are set in their way.

Young Jews need to ask themselves “just how loyal should we be to a party that has celebrated Members of Congress making Tweets about how evil we are joking about our genocide?”

A dumber smart gun

Some students in a Plano, Texas school want to take a technological approach to stopping mass shootings.

Boy-howdy it’s a bad idea.

Smart Gun Prototype Aimed at Stopping Mass Shootings

You’ve heard of smart phones, smart cars and even smart homes.

Now, a group of Collin County teens are developing a new high-tech device: A smart gun.

After the Las Vegas concert massacre, the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, and numerous guns brought on local campuses, the group of students said enough’s enough and developed what they hope will be a solution.

“It’s fear stimulating and in my group we were like, we can’t deal with this, we have to do something about it,” said Salwa Shahid, a junior at Plano West High School.

My problem with smart guns is this, eventually they will be made mandatory.  New Jersey has the Childproof Handgun Law which bans all non-smart handguns three years after smart guns become “available for retail sale.”  That may be too difficult to pass in other states, or at the Federal level, but New York has tried to push a law that would require gun owners to carry a $1 Million liability insurance policy as a prerequisite for gun ownership.  I can see mandatory insurance on non-smart guns being used to make non-smart gun ownership prohibitively expensive.

Then there are all sorts of regulatory runarounds when it comes to mandating safety technology.  Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell wants all new cars to come with BAC ignition interlocks so you have to pass a breathalyzer to turn on your car.  “If it only saves one life.”  Seriously.

Imagine what legislators could do to lock you out of your smart gun.

The Secure Gun is a modified Nerf gun.

A camera on the front uses artificial intelligence to detect if a gun is pointed at a person, crowd, animal or target.

If aimed at a person or crowd, the gun limits the amount of times you can pull the trigger.

Just how good is that AI?  Can it tell a human from a Defense Criminal Investigative Service B-60 Target or a B-21 Qualification Target?

What is it’s rate of false positives, i.e., it thinks it’s looking at a person but it’s not?

How far away is the AI accurate?

Can it tell a good guy from a bad guy?

Also, for bad guys, how easy is it to override this technology.  Can I just hang a picture of a target over the camera and make the AI think I’m shooting at paper?  So the bad guy who wants to break the law can disable the safety, but the law abiding citizen can’t (because, disabling the safety will be illegal).

I don’t know but I don’t trust it.

“You still are allowed to do one bullet every 20 seconds so you still are allowed to use self-defense so it’s still going to work,” said Shahid.

Because good guys never miss.  Because bad guys always go down with a first shot hit.  Because there are never multiple attackers.

GPS on the gun would create geo-fences, stopping it from firing in certain locations like schools and churches.

Because things like the good guy who stopped the Sutherland Springs Church Shooting or the woman who stopped the church shooting in Colorado Springs never happen and there is no reason for a good guy to be at a church with a gun.

“We realize that this will offend some people but the thing is you have to have compromise … you have to have a compromise in order to have the better of humanity,” said Hanzala Rehan, a senior at Plano West High School.

There is no compromise on this.  I am not letting anyone, other than myself, have the ability to control if the gun goes bang when I want it to.

The Secure Gun, they say, would be built into new guns and a version would be made to be retrofitted onto existing guns.

The prototype and any implementation – they know – has a long way to go.

But their sites are set on turning the tricked-out toy into in a solution to a serious problem.

The Secure Gun placed in the top five at a competition with innovations from 45 countries.

A patent for the device is pending.

And so it is on the path to becoming the next mandatory safety device imposed on us.

Anti-gun politicians can say:

“See, you still have your gun rights, we’re just limiting how fast you can shoot, what you can shoot at, where you can shoot, how many rounds your gun holds, and we can turn it off remotely.  But we’re not taking your guns away.”

This is just awful.

There is only one upside to this that I can think of.  Between a gun that limited to one shot every 20 seconds and a magazine capacity of 5 to 10 rounds, by other laws, I might have a decent chance of taking on Rob Letham or Travis Tomasie in a match if I just practice my reloads.  It’s a much more level laying field.

This is why I support the death penalty

Illinois man allegedly kills 4-year-old girl after she spilled juice on Xbox

Prosecutors in Illinois plan to seek a life sentence for a man who allegedly killed his girlfriend’s daughter after she spilled juice on an Xbox video game console.

Johnathan Fair, 19, of Waukegan, roughly 40 miles northwest of Chicago, was babysitting 4-year-old Skylar Mendez on Dec. 13 when the incident occurred, the Lake County News-Sun reported, citing the State Attorney’s Office.

Fair took the child to a hospital and claimed she fell and hit her head, prosecutors said. He later reportedly admitted that he shook Mendez “really hard” and beat her because she spilled juice on the console.

Fair allegedly kicked Skylar down a hallway as part of her punishment. He reportedly brought her to the hospital after she passed out during the attack.

I am a total proponent of the death penalty.  My only complaint about it is that we don’t use it enough.

When it comes to dogs, shelters understand that there are dogs that can never be adopted out.  They are just to dangerous to ever be trusted to human companions, so the shelter puts them down for everyone’s benefit.

I feel the same way about people.

I don’t believe the death penalty has much of a deterrent effect against the types of criminals who are most likely going to face it.  A gang member who kills several people is probably not fazed by the idea of a death sentence since it’s more likely he’ll get shot by another gang member.

For people like that, or like the human garbage above, I accept that they are just too dangerous to every be allowed to be around other people ever again, and we just need to put them down.

If you are so dangerous that we can’t reform you in say… 10 years, there is no reason to keep you in prison, then there is no reason to waste the money keeping you alive and locked away, we just need to stop your heart with drugs.

No fanfare, no big tadoo at midnight.  Just hold him down and inject a few hundred CCs of Phenobarbital and Fentanyl into his arm and wait for him to stop breathing.

This piece of shit admitted to shaking a 4 year old to death over an X-Box.

The judge should accept the plea, no need to wait, bring on the barbiturates.

This is nasty even for Venezuelan Standards. (Graphic Content)

One region in Venezuela that is like the infamous Wild West that really never happened is the West-South West where the gold and diamond mining camps are located. There is not an accurate account of how many people are in the area nor there is a crime report other than knowing that murders happen.

But this one? This one is new to me anyway: This is a 19-year-old soldier who was reported AWOL on back in December and was found on a trail yesterday. According to the reports, his hands and tongue were cut off and his eyes gouged.

Rumors say he had deserted the Army, went to work in the mines and was caught stealing so punishment was issued. It is a very bloody/appealing narrative, but illegal miners are not that “thoughtful”, they just pop a round in your brain pan and leave you in the jungle as food for the critters.

This looks more like a careful warning to the government, both Army and l;aw enforcement: Stay away from the camps.

I do believe it will work rather well. There was never a heavy government presence in the region when Socialism was not in charge and I doubt that the almost starving soldiers are willing to risk their appendages for gold and diamonds they will never get to use to buy food.
