Sorry, but after the Parkland Report, the gloves are coming off.

Washington (CNN)The father of a Parkland shooting victim who had a heated exchange with Rep. Matt Gaetz at a gun prevention hearing said Thursday he decided to interrupt the Florida Republican to “let the nation know he’s wrong.”
On Wednesday, during the House’s first hearing in years on gun violence prevention, Manuel Oliver interrupted Gaetz, a vocal Hill ally of President Donald Trump, when the congressman began arguing that illegal immigration, not firearms, poses a greater threat to national security and thus requires a wall along the US-Mexico border.
“My first feeling is that this guy’s in the wrong room. He should be discussing this matter in another place,” Oliver told CNN’s Poppy Harlow Thursday on “New Day.” “Don’t bring the wall as a solution for everything.”

Parkland dad says he interrupted GOP rep at gun hearing to ‘let the nation know he’s wrong’

J. Kb wrote about Manuel Oliver in another post. But I am not going to be as respectful to the gentleman for the simple reason we are tired of getting blamed for the things that we neither are responsible for, nor we could control and your first thought is to remove our rights.

How come I have not heard the screams of anger coming from  Manuel Oliver after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission official report was released to the public? How come he did not post his ass in front of the Sheriff Office demanding the removal of Scott Israel? I have not heard about of his banging the doors of the Broward School door demanding for Runcie to resign. Neither I have seen him protesting with a sign in front of the FBI Field Office, just a half an hour drive from where you son went to school?

You know what? I am going to bet Mr. Oliver is not a registered Republican. I suspect that he has voted straight Democratic ticket, including the former Broward’s Sheriff and even the school board members.

He probably voted for the people responsible for the death of his son.

But it is my fault and the fault of my fellow gun owners and fellow members  of the NRA.

Sorry, fuck him and his outrage.

Art Of The Deal.

So, the Democrats wished Hillary for President… and did not get her.

Then they pushed for an impeachment of Trump. Not looking good either.

But there is an offer on the table to recall & remove the Governor from Virginia, his Lt Governor and the State Attorney.

I can live with that deal. The Dems can get three for the price of one.

Damn, Trump sure can negotiate!

Pro tyrant Democrat from New York

I had no idea who CJ Pearson was.  Apparently he’s a 16 year old conservative pundit (?) who became famous for an anti-Obama viral video.  I guess that is why I have never heard of him, I have not the Twitter and don’t follow any vlogs on YouTube.

He watched the SOTU and decided to send a Tweet mocking Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez.

I’m not sure what he’s talking about, but whatever.

Two things to point out here.

First, it would have been just a tad more respectful if he had said “the Congresswoman next to her.”

Second, there are 435 members of the House of Representatives.  I dare anybody to name more than a half-dozen off the top of their heads.  I dare anybody to recognize more than three or four of them by sight.

If you can, it’s probably the handful that are always the subject of the news or they wear a stupid fucking hat.

I could probably do a little better with Senators.

The fact is that most Representatives are nothing characters who never make the national news, don’t get interviewed, and nobody outside (and usually inside) their districts care about.

So that some 16 year old boy didn’t recognize some random Congresswoman who was sitting next to a Congressional media darling is par for the course of America.

It turns out, the woman sitting next to AOC was Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez.  If you have never heard of her, it’s okay, neither had I until today.  She has been in Congress since 1993, starting in NY-12 and being redistricted to NY-7.  A Google news search about her reveals almost nothing about her, mostly just captioned photos where she is one of many Representatives in a picture.

This should have been a nothing Tweet.

Not for Congresswoman Velazquez, she decided to ratchet that up to 11.

What.  The.  Fuck!?!

As an aside here, she’s a 65 year old woman who has been in Congress for 26 years.  She’s far from being part of the spunky class of Freshmen.  She’s many things, but she’s not the future.

“And you’re right to be afraid of us.”  Holy shit that is some ominous, threatening language from a Congresswoman directed at a 16 year old kid.

That’s not how our government is supposed to work.  We are not supposed to be afraid of our Representatives.

Abuelita Ocasio-Cortez here may not like that she is such a backbencher that a kid 49 years her junior didn’t know who she was despite her being in office for a decade longer than he’s been alive, but that still doesn’t give her the right to act like a slighted monarch.

Scratch a Leftist find a fascist underneath.  In 2019, you don’t need to scratch them anymore, you just need to sent a Tweet their way and they will let the despotism out.

Why we need a strong Second Amendment

Rayma is a Venezuelan cartoonist who today published a panel which has pissed off the Opposition in Venezuela, the side she is on.

People are dying while the politicos from both side are playing their games in the country and abroad. And the People will not do squat because fighting for Freedom and killing the oppressor has been tattooed in their brains as immoral and not worthy of a true Democracy. Any “freedom” must be achieved without violence or it becomes impure.

International help (Food and medicines) is arriving to the border town of Cucuta in Colombia to be delivered in Venezuela. What has been the response of the Venezuelan Government? Block the border access.

Venezuelan troops have barricaded a bridge on the country’s western border with Colombia in an apparent attempt to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid sent by opposition leaders trying to force Nicolas Maduro from power.
On Wednesday lunchtime a fuel tanker and two shipping containers blocked the Tienditas international bridge which connects the two countries and has become a staging ground for the planned relief effort. Members of Venezuela’s Bolivarian national guard could also be seen at the bridge

Venezuela: Troops block border bridge to stop aid from Colombia

The Opposition probably issued a strongly worded criticisms and perhaps planned on another meeting with the proper NGOs out there so they can come to an agreement to issue a formal letter of complain, strongly worded, of course.

In the meantime, people will continue to die from starvation and sickness, but always maintaining the high moral ground of non-violence which surely will bring freedom this time.

Well, death is a form of freedom, right?

Florida: SPB 7030 – School Safety and Security (includes allowing armed teachers in school)

An act relating to school safety and security; amending s. 30.15, F.S.; requiring a sheriff to establish a school guardian program under a certain condition; removing the prohibition against classroom  teachers serving as school guardians

This is just a bit of the bill which is 29 pages long. Good news? Sheriffs no longer can reject the School Guardian Program. But the bad news is that school board needs to vote and approve the use of School Guardian Program. Somehow I do not see Broward, Miami-Dade or Palm Beach school boards approving it, not at least till the next school shooting.

There is more to the bill, but nothing gun-related that I saw on my initial reading. I’ll delve on it later.

BIG REMINDER: Bills are either heading to subcommittees or already on them. Please register with the Florida House (they have both House and Senate bills)to receive updates on the bills via email. I will try to keep with the bills, but I would not mind a bit of help.

Florida: SPB 7026 – Keeping private the applications for Concealed Weapons Permit via Tax Collector.

OGSR/Concealed Carry License/Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services: Amending provisions relating to an exemption from public records requirements for personal identifying information of an individual who has applied for a license to carry a concealed weapon or firearm through a tax collector appointed by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to receive applications and fees; abrogating the scheduled repeal of the exemption, etc.

This one is one of those examples of little things that get missed initially. There was a time when your information was only exempt from the Sunshine Law if you had a CWP, but applications were not exempt. That was fixed, but I guess the language was not ample enough to be used with the applications via Tax Collectors since they belong to the Department of Revenue.

I see this as a good bill.
