Month: March 2019

One to make you smile.

From a Facebook buddy.

I was cleaning up, and clearing a couple of shelves in my bookstore. A lady comes in. She didn’t have the hairstyle, it hadn’t been invented yet. But, she definitely belonged to the I want to Speak to the Manager, tribe. I said, Be right with you. This Wasn’t good enough.
apparently, I was supposed to drop everything I was doing, and prostrate myself with slathering attention at her feet. I never found out why she came in. Perhaps it was just to hold the screaming tizzy she threw herself into. She scream she was going to get me fired, she wanted to speak to the manager. I picked up the phone and dialed 2 numbers. you could actually hear the ringing in the back office. It stopped, and I said Kim, there’s a lady up here that would like to speak to the manager. Kim comes out with a what is all this then? Look on her face. this woman starts with a 20-minute tirade on how I am a rotten employee, I failed to show proper and sufficient respect, attentiveness, and devotion! To her. The customer. And for my evil sins, I should be fired. since crucifixion, and burning at the stake were off the table. Kim looked really really sad. Much as I would like to, I can’t fire him. The owner won’t let me.
She asked if the owner was on the premises.
Kim, the manager, nodded slowly.
She demanded to speak to the owner.
Kim put her hand on my shoulder, and said, sir! This lady wants to speak to the owner.
I turned full face toward her, and said yes ma’am how can I help you?
Her jaw dropped.
Her mouth opened so wide, I mildly regretted the fact that John Holmes was not available.
she then turned, and stomped out of the store, and what I imagine, was high dudgeon.

I lost it at the John Holmes’ reference. If you don’t know who he is, you do the Googling. This is a clean website 🙂

Florida Alert! Deja Vu! Moms Demand Action Give INACCURATE Testimony AGAIN
DATE:
March 26, 2019
TO:
USF & NRA Members and Friends
FROM:
Marion P. Hammer

USF Executive Director

NRA Past President
On Monday 3/25/2019, SB-1238 – Guns on Private Property of Churches by Sen. Debbie Mayfield  was heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee and PASSED by a vote of 4-2.

However, the story of the day was the arrogance and lack of professionalism by Bloomberg’s Moms Demand Action lobbying group and their “lobbyist of the day.”

Moms Demand Action (MDA) “volunteer,” Beth Dumond of Tallahassee, read the same INACCURATE testimony that a different “volunteer” read to House Judiciary Committee last week.

However, Ms. Dumond critized two legislators on the House Criminal Justice who reprimanded the MDA Lobbyist for previous INACCURATE testimony.  Ms. Dumond accused legislators Rep. Mike Grieco (D) and Rep. Byron Donalds (R) of essentially being “confused” about the meaning of legal terminology.

Accusing two legislators — an Attorney and a Financial Advisor — of being “confused” and essentially saying they don’t understand legal terminology is the height of arrogance.

Folks, you just can’t make this stuff up…..Some ghost somewhere is obviously paid by Bloomberg to write this inaccurate testimony.

You can view this anti-gun arrogance for yourself.  Use the link below and move the time bar at the bottom of the screen to the 1:12:00 mark to begin the hearing on SB-1238.

https://thefloridachannel.org/videos/3-25-19-senate-judiciary-committee/

Voting in FAVOR of the SB-1238 were: Senators Dennis Baxley (R), Travis Hutson (R), Kelli Stargel (R), & Chair. David Simmons (R).

Voting AGAINST SB-1230 were: Seantors Audrey Gibson (D) & Jose Rodriguez (D)

If you watch the video, you will also find out that the Florida Sheriffs Association was represented by  Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey and in support of the bill.

Next and like clockwork, Marion Hammer gave again a smart statement about property rights.

And the one behind Ms Hammer, staring at her like she wanted to give her a stroke with the power of her mindless is Beth Dumond.

After that, we got us Angie Gallo from Florida PTA who also was against the bill.

There were also four more “appearance forms” of people present who waived the right to speak and all four were against the bill.

Our side had nobody else, speaking or not. That is some seriously sad crap. I was told last year that we had a solid No Compromise group of Floridian that could do much better than the NRA and Marion Hammer. A new young generation ready to take action, yet it seems not even one could make it to even fill a piece of paper and be on the record in support of the Bill.

A bunch of Chest Thumpers/ No Compromise types bested by a 80-year-old lady. That is a crying shame.

Bullets beat fists (updated)

I will continue to shout this message from the rooftops.

Getting punched is no simple thing.

It is dangerous and deadly serious.

Also, the fight isn’t over just because you think it is over, don’t let your guard down.

Texas dad left in coma after brutal attack while protecting daughter from boyfriend: cops

A Texas man is “fighting for his life” after an alleged brutal assault by his daughter’s boyfriend during an argument Saturday, according to reports.

Eric Garcia asked his daughter’s boyfriend to leave the home after overhearing him calling the girl derogatory names during an argument, reports said. His daughter had been dating the man for about a month.

Jamie Apodaca, 24, who police identified as the boyfriend, left and returned a few minutes later and began arguing with Garcia, reports said.

Eric Garcia remains in a coma at an Austin-area hospital, according to a GoFundMe page.

Apodaca, who had been staying with the family for 10 days, left and returned a few minutes later and began arguing with Garcia. The confrontation turned violent and police say Apodaca hit Garcia several times and punched his daughter, KEYE-TV reported.

At one point, Apodaca allegedly struck Garcia, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete, fracturing his skull.

“It was really shocking and it’s been a really tough couple of days, just kind of hoping that he pulls through but knowing that he probably won’t,” Garcia’s friend Rock Schouman told the station.

The father thought the fight, an argument at that point, was over when  Apodaca left.  Apodaca returned and escalated the fight to violence.

It was a bare fisted fight, but the father ended up in a coma from a head injury that very may well kill him.  If he does survive, he will end up with permanent brain damage and the long term debilitating effects of a TBI.

If you have to throw someone out of your house, make sure they cannot get back in.

If you think the fight is over but they don’t, be prepared for them to try and get revenge.

If someone tries to punch you, be prepared to defend yourself with lethal force.

If someone punches your daughter, shoot that motherfucker in the face with a goddamned shotgun, then sue his family for the cost of having to repaint and recarpet the room.

UPDATE:

Miguel asked me to remind you about about disparity of force and that no, you probably don’t “have every right to use lethal force to defend yourself from someone using only their fists.”

This is found in FL 776.012(2)

Use or threatened use of force in defense of person.—
(1) A person is justified in using or threatening to use force, except deadly force, against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to defend himself or herself or another against the other’s imminent use of unlawful force. A person who uses or threatens to use force in accordance with this subsection does not have a duty to retreat before using or threatening to use such force.
(2) A person is justified in using or threatening to use deadly force if he or she reasonably believes that using or threatening to use such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony. A person who uses or threatens to use deadly force in accordance with this subsection does not have a duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground if the person using or threatening to use the deadly force is not engaged in a criminal activity and is in a place where he or she has a right to be.

Always obey the law.

I will defer to Miguel as the senior amateur expert on these matters.

That said, I’m pretty sure ending up with a cracked skull and in a coma that nobody expects you to survive is sufficient enough evidence that the use of lethal force in defense was justified.

My previous post covered several incidents in New York City in which unarmed gang members put people in the hospital with brain injuries even though they were unarmed.

This is a law that needs to be changed.  If a grown man can throw a punch hard enough to cause coma or death, going up against a law abiding citizen with a gun should not be considered a disparity of force.

No one, I repeat no one, should die because he was to afraid to shoot a guy raining punches down on his head until brain injury occurs.

I would be happy to nullify any jury in which a CCW holder shot an assailant who was punching him in the head.

It’s always the places where you can’t have a gun that you need one the most

Bronx Delivery Man Robbed, Beaten In Gang-Style Assault As Disturbing NYC Trend Continues

Oh gee, it’s a trend.

Surveillance cameras in the Bronx caught a brutal assault and robbery of a delivery man by a violent group of attackers.

Police say the 36-year-old victim was making a delivery for Uber Eats when four men ambushed him and pushed the worker off his bike.

The group then punched the victim to the ground and allegedly threatened him with a knife before getting away with his electric bike and iPhone.

A four on one armed robbery.

The gang-style ambush is the latest report in a disturbing and growing trend of groups beating other New Yorkers throughout the city.

Another group of four suspects were caught on camera viciously attacking and robbing a man in Brooklyn on March 12. Surveillance video spotted the suspects as they beat the man unconscious before swarming the victim and taking his belongings.

Remember, unconscious means brain injury.  This is attempted murder.

A teenager was left beaten and stabbed in the Bronx after being brutally attacked by a group of young men last month. Authorities say four suspects were caught on surveillance cameras cornering a 17-year-old inside a building on Feb. 27.

Ooo…. and a stabbing too.

Another teen was beaten and robbed by six men back on Feb. 8. Those suspects allegedly punched the 15-year-old several times before running off with the boy’s phone.

Before that, a pack of six teens are suspected of carrying out at least four attacks on Bronx residents dating back to December of 2018. In each of those incidents, the victims say the group approached them, attacked them, and then stole their iPhones, wallets, and backpacks.

Jesus…  What the fuck is going on in the Bronx?

Maybe it was a good idea for Amazon to pull out of that shit hole before their entire engineering staff was knifed.

It really seems like these surveillance cameras are doing a lot of good.  I wonder why.

Because you can’t identify shit on camera.  Besides the resolution being terrible, it’s technology that can be defeated by a green ski mask or a parka hood and sun glasses.

I guess that stops security cameras from being a deterrence.

The NYPD claims the city’s overall crime rate has dropped to record lows however, officials said they were shifting units to deal with a spike in violent crimes including murders and rapes. The department says many clusters of violence are driven by gang activity and gun violence.

That sounds like a horseshit statement.

“Crime is down but violent gang crime, rape, and murder is up.”

Hooray, fewer people are double parking but more people are getting beaten into TBIs for their iPhones.  Sounds like progress.

I guess New York was pissed that London had more stabbings than they did in 2018 and wanted to go back to being Number 1.

You know what is more effective at stopping four gang members from stabbing you over your cellphone and wallet than a security camera and an inept police force hamstrung by politically correct rules of engagement?

Shooting some gang member in the guts with a JHP.

It’s just too bad that New York City doesn’t have concealed carry.

It’s always the places you need a gun the most that you are most forbidden from carrying one.

If your cause is righteous, why lie? – You are NOT helping.

Reader FiftycalTX made a comment in the How to detect dangerous “Gun Law videos” post and when I went to check again, I realized that there was something else bothering me to hell that I have missed consciously on the first run: Staged scenes.

You know what is very weird in the State of Florida? No Gun signs, specially in banks. Hell other than some Hospitals (the Memorial Hospitals franchise) Jared jewelries and Buffalo Wild Wings, I don’t think anybody bothers to paste the darn things anymore. I know my Bank of America does not.

I watched again the video and rather than concentrating on what was being said, I looked at the image. Stuff started to show up:

1- The sign is posted outside the door.
2- The bank is closed. You can se the inside barred gate.
3- No cars in the parking lot but one, probably theirs.

This was a Chase Bank. But they repeat the litany in a Bank Of America.  Again we see a No Guns sign posted at the door, ever so clear and sharp as if the glass had no effect on its sharpness or reflected the outside. Notice inside the safety gate also down indicating bank is closed.

And now the same bank in the same video from afar. Notice something missing besides cars at a bank’s parking lot during a normal business day?

How about that? The No Guns sign must have fallen. Yeah, that.

And the part that really ticks me off is something that Reader Divemedic said: the information in the video is correct.  So why in God’s name made these people stage fake scenes? They ran around town looking for GFZ signs and when they couldn’t, they decided it was easier to make stuff up?  That is the kind of boneheaded stuff that hurt us as it makes people think about us:

“Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus”
“False in one thing, false in everything.”

Basically, no matter how truthful the rest of the information provided can be, people will assume it is also a lie.  And by natural progression, people who before may had no opinion about our fight will now assume we will deceive in order to win.

Lie is what Gun Control does supported by billions of dollars. Our only currency is honesty and truth and it is damn hard to fight just with that. Making fake videos only serve to erase our small moral currency.

And the other side wins.

If your cause is righteous, why lie?

He is a great writer and Ammoman could not do any better.

Now I have to add the blog to my news reader. I am running out of space!

The New York Times & Taco Stand on the Mueller Report: Blame Woodward and Bernstein.

And what about the rest of us? What about all the hours we spent speculating about the Mueller report, fantasizing about the Trump ruin or watching and reading speculation about these things? What about the superstructure of scandal politics we have built and live in today?
The sad fact is that Watergate introduced a poison into the American body politic. Richard Nixon’s downfall was just and important, but it opened up the mouthwatering possibility that you don’t need to do the hard work of persuading people to join your side. Instead, you can destroy your foes all at once through scandal.

We’ve All Just Made Fools of Ourselves — Again

We all understand the journalists’ appeal for Watergate: In the era where the USA could do no right, the Fifth Power actually being powerful and bringing down an US President ? Orgasmic. We re talking about deposing a head of state, a pleasure usually reserved for Third World Country revolutionaries. But keeping with historical tradition, the majority of what came after was actually worse than what was eliminated. Gotcha journalism became the norm and when they could not actually find evil behind the man, they created it and damn the consequences. And sometimes when they could not find a man, they are just happy to make up a crisis just because it sells or fits a political flavor they enjoy. Never forget that we are talking about people involved in the News business and not in the Truth business.

A reminder to the NYT: It is “Mea Culpa” and not “Not really Mea Culpa, somebody else made me do it.”  It does not work that way.
