Something fishy about this weekend’s shooting

In reading about the coverage of the El Paso and Dayton shootings over the weekend, something stuck out at me.

The El Paso shooter was caught on a security camera wearing proper eye and ear protection.

He was taken alive.

The Dayton shooter was also equipped with ear protection as well as body armor.

He was killed very quickly, in under two minutes, because the police were patrolling that area.  I think the Dayton shooter was caught off guard by how fast the police response was.

This is the first time that I can think of that mass shooters were wearing ear and eye pro.  In the past, these mass shooters followed the pattern of shooting until they were killed by police or were cornered by police, then they would take their own lives.

The use of ear and eye pro indicates a desire to survive the shooting.  Wearing body armor, even more so.

This is a break from the pattern of mass shooting behaviors we’ve traditionally seen.

The media has reported that the El Paso shooter was a white supremacist with his manifesto and his activities all over 8chan.

Heavy is reporting that the Dayton shooter was a leftist, going so far as to specify is preferred pronouns on Twitter.  He didn’t leave a manifesto.

Truth be told, I don’t think the politics of either shooter had much of anything to do with anything.

In the days following the Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting from last weekend, it was reported that the shooter was a white supremacist.  The FBI now says that is wrong, and they can’t figure out a political motive for the shooting.  Also, the Garlic Festival shooter killed himself, which fits the traditional behavior of mass shooters when confronted by police.

The independent investigation site Bellingcat published a piece on the El Paso shooter about the gamification of mass shootings. It’s worth a read.

It focused on 8chan, for which we have no evidence that the Dayton shooter was a part of.  It is also heavily associated with white supremacism so discounts the Dayton shooter.

I think the El Paso shooting, followed very quickly by the Dayton shooting, with both shooters equipped like the want to survive the shooting shows a scary change in the direction of these types of events.

This is the zenith of nihilistic shit-stirring.  The ultimate form of trolling.

Go out and kill a bunch of people just to fan the flames a bit more, then sit back and watch the mayhem.

Not sharing these shooter’s names or faces does no good.  They are not in it for personal fame.  They have been trolling for years behind anonymous accounts and cartoon avatars.  They don’t need their name and face broadcast over TV to feel a sense of satisfaction.  This is about seeing how much damage they can create.

This is the sociopathy of internet trolling brought into the real world.  Anonymous people hurting others for the pleasure of it and measuring their success by the number of people hurt.

These are kids raised in the worst parts of the internet sewer.

This is going to happen again and more frequently.  These guys are keeping score with each other and the more they rile up the public, the more of a kick they get out of it.

They are going to be more and more equipped and prepared because they want to survive.

We are entering a dangerous new territory of mass shooter.  The internet troll shooter.

Gun Owners have small peepees

Stolen from The View From North Central Idaho.

If there is somebody who embodies the full characteristics of a Racist and a Bigot is Gun Control advocates. They cannot fathom that a Black or a Latino or a Woman or a LGQBT  may own guns. They are all White folks with small penises.

And we are the Rednecks.

Not Mentioning Mass Shooters: A bad political strategy.

I find myself going over this subject almost every time a mass shotting event happens.

This is somebody I follow in Twitter.  I understand there are  legitimate Law Enforcement and prevention reasons why mentioning the names of Asshole Patrick Crusias and Asshole Connor Betts is no a thing to do, but politically and Constitutionally, it is a very bad strategy.

Nature abhors vacuum and Humans abhor unanswered questions. We cannot expect that a falsely created void will not be filled just because we say/hope so. And if you think Gun Control Advocates are going to be honorable and not play politics with that hole, you are deluded and specially, where have you been?.

I bet that if I mention Nikki Cruz, about half of you will have a vague idea of him, you know you heard the name and since we are talking about mass shooter, he is probably one. You may not remember he is the Parkland shooter who killed 15 of his former school mates and gave us David Hogg as new Gun Control flavor.

The calls for Cruz’s name not to be mentioned went out again and as usual people wanted a responsible entity to lay blame on and although it started with the NRA, soon enough what happened in Parkland was attached to a live human being: Dana Loesch.

I applauded her for being ballsy enough to go into what she had to figure would be a hostile situation. But she is now more hated by the Left than all the real killers out there. The abuse she suffers in Social Media is brutal. The following are screen captures I gathered in under 1o minutes from her timeline and do not include the death threats that get promptly reported and deleted.

Notice the dates. This is not back when parkland but yesterday and the day before. Nice, huh?

This is what the “Don’t Mention Names” creates. It deflects the blame to those who are blameless and makes the whole sad affair a political clown show. I would even bet that if allowed, the Broward county jury in the future trial of Nikki Cruz would rather send Dana Loesch to get lethal injection and have the mass murderer go free.  And don’t forget that to a lesser level, you are also being adjudicated guilt in the mass killings. They will not bat an eye if they could send you to prison or have you taken to some backward alley and get shot in the back of the head.

If you haven’t bought your AR or similar semi rifle, it is time you seriously think about it. Not because legislation (I am sure the Dems are crafting one now) but because you may need it to save your life from the upcoming hate mobs.

Getting into Ham Radio

Got them in Amazon under recommendation of Greg Elifritz for $24.99 each. I am amazed at the stuff this things can do in such a little package. Back in the era of the transistor, you’d need 3 or for units to do what this thing does.

I guess I have to ge the license but even that is not hard as there are plenty resources on line to lean and they even give you practice exams. And there is no Morse Code requirement for any of the licenses.  I did serious CB (not a joke) back in 1979 to 1981. I started with th cheap 23 channel, transformer and car antenna sticking out my bedroom window and ended up with a base radio, big ass antenna and helping others doing installations. I mention this because between that and the basic electronics I took in college for Audio engineering, I have been scoring decently in the practice tests. Where I get nailed is frequencies, radiation and FCC regulations which I know nothing about.

I decided to hit the meager savings on buying the radios and the books (more expensive than the figging radios) for the licenses after watching Cajun Navy and realizing we had nothing communications wise that did not depend of a  company and a system that will go down in a hurricane. IIRC, these babies should push up to 7 miles in perfect conditions of weather and terrain (flat). I am guessing that better antennas and higher locations will improve coverage. I am not gonna start fudging stuff around till I get the license and I know what the heck am I doing.

And for Mr Greg, I need to bill him for planting evil stuff in my head which costs me money that could have gone to a new gun or ammo.

UPDATE: Following friends’ advice, I got myself a P.O. Box to use as address for the license since the FCC publishes it and knowing I may have a hater or two out there, I figured I should be paranoid.

Picking a post office 2 zip codes away paranoid enough?

Man is hacked to death with a samurai sword ‘by his Syrian migrant ex-flatmate’ in a Stuttgart street as hysterical witnesses scream in vain at the attacker to stop

A Kazakh man has been hacked to death in broad daylight in the middle of a German street with a ‘samurai sword’, police said.

The dead man’s Syrian roommate was arrested after the 36-year-old victim was repeatedly stabbed in Stuttgart yesterday in front of horrified onlookers.

Authorities confirmed a man was killed in the road in the German city Fasanenhof district with a ‘sword-like object’ that looked like a samurai weapon.

Screaming witnesses tried in vain to save the man as he was hacked at by his attacker, but he died at the scene.

This is some medieval stuff going on in 21st Century Europe.  When your populace can only scream to see if they can convince an attacker to stop his evil deed, you have failed as a country.

And that is the model they want us to accept. Hell, no.
