So via The Silicon Graybeard I get to read in Ammoland the story of Peter Van Antwerpen, a resident of Weston who was SWATed after he posted a meme that apparently was insulting to Beth Jaffe, the wife of Weston city commissioner Bryon Jaffe.

Commenting about the Oh-so-rich city of Weston joining a lawsuit against the State of Florida’s preemption of gun laws, Mr. Van Antwerpen posted a meme of the famous Charles Heston “From my dead cold hands” and mentioned three people, one of them Beth’s husband.

According to the case file, the one who dropped an email to Broward Sheriffs’ Office was dear Beth who seems to be hardcore democrat and anti gun.

and to certify her Democrat creds, she was involved in a small and intimate soiree thrown for Mayor Andrew Gillum back in October 2018 while he was doing his run for the governorship of Florida.  And I am talking intimate with people with very deep pockets.

Some expensive chairs, no Ikea or Walmart.

If the amounts correspond to individual contributions, Gillum went home that night with close to a million bucks just on the people listed in the flyer.

And as much as I hate that they are doing Red Flags & SWATting for stupid stuff like this, the silver lining is this is evidence to take to the State Supreme Courts and SCOTUS itself if necessary.

I believe Mr. Van Antwerpen should seek some sort of legal respite against dear Beth and certainly humiliate the living daylights out of her and hubby for such a clear abuse of power.

It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of open carry (carrying an unconcealed handgun or long gun in public).  Except in a hunting context or in very rural areas where one is unlikely to encounter another human, I generally think it’s a poor decision to carry openly.  Too many bad things can happen.  I’ve explored some of those issues in my article The Perils of Open Carry.

My friend Spencer Keepers summed up the issue of open carry in the best way that I’ve heard: “I support the right, not the practice.”  I agree with him 100%.

Not everyone feels the same way I do.  Some continually tout open carry as a way to educate the populace and a way to provide a visible deterrent against crime.  In my experience, open carry does neither.

A Florida Senate special master has recommended the former sheriff who was suspended for his department’s bungled response to the Parkland high school massacre should be reinstated, according to a new report.

In a report released Wednesday, special master Dudley Goodlette determined that Gov. Ron DeSantis failed to prove the charges in his suspension order against former Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

It is not done yet by far. The Florida Senate will meet next moth to decide if they allow Israel to go back to wear the uniform and make a bigger mess. You can count with the Broward Democrat Machine to throw support behind Israel, but I do not know if the rest Democrats in the State will be so confident to do so. Governor DeSantis has good ratings among Floridians and the crap that BSO pulled with the school Board has not been forgotten yet.

I am sure the hearings will be live streamed and should be fun to watch.

Because of what she said and did, if the House doesn’t go all the way, it will be a political disaster. Either failing to take a vote on articles of impeachment, or failing to get enough votes among her majority to pass any articles, would be seen as a political exoneration for Trump, likely leading to his re-election.

If all that weren’t risky enough, consider another scenario. If House Dems do impeach Trump on grounds that much of the public sees as flimsy and concocted, they could win the battle and lose the war. Indeed, no matter what the House does, there is a next-to-zero chance the GOP controlled Senate would convict the president absent clear and convincing “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

I believe that the Old School Democrats believe that the New Screeching generation are actually the majority vote for the next elections. Also, they believe they will make gains if they take this dog & Pony show live in CNN.

The American People simply will not tolerate the unseating of a president because the main accusation is the political equivalent of “he gave me the cooties.” The Trump base is more energized than ever and even Republican voters not in the Trump field will rather vote for him than facing a government by Democrats who are just upending all what the USA stands for.

Be ready for a avalanche of false witnesses and “evidence” at the hearings. They will sink that low. It is gonna be nasty and even nastier after the re-election.

If I were President facing this, I’d start declassifying a lot of crap from the previous administration, starting with Fast and Furious. You wanna play dirty? I will play dirtirer: I would use the Truth.

This is a story I knew nothing about until it turned ugly.

A guy by the name of Carson King held up a sign at an Iowa football game for donations online for a case of Busch Light beer.  It was sort of tongue-in-cheek and funny.

The internet responded by sending him over $1 million dollars.

What King did next was pretty epic.  He bought a case of Busch Light and donated the rest of the money to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Anheuser-Busch was so impressed, they were going to match King’s donation.

Hooray, right?

Not for today’s media.

Some slimy shit-weasel with the Des Moines Register had to look up King on Twitter.

Anheuser-Busch to have ‘no further association’ with Carson King over social media posts

Anheuser-Busch announced Tuesday that it will cut ties with Carson King, the Iowa State fan who has raised over $1 million for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, over multiple offensive social media posts he made.

King held a press conference Tuesday to discuss a controversial post. He said a reporter with the Des Moines Register called attention to an offensive social media post he made when he was 16 years old.

That’s right.  A couple of bad joke tweets from when King was 16 back in 2012 are ending this good deed for a children’s hospital.

In a statement to KCCI, Anheuser-Busch said, “Carson King had multiple social media posts that do not align with our values as a brand or as a company and we will have no further association with him. We are honoring our commitment by donating more than $350,000 to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.”

No more fundraising for a children’s hospital because of some jokes told by a high school sophomore seven years ago.

This is absolutely fucking despicable.  Not a 16-year old telling racist jokes, that’s normal teenage shenanigans.  Destroying a good thing because a grown man today was discovered to have been a normal 16-year old boy seven years ago.

And people wonder why I have no Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.  I have either never signed up for, or nuked every social media account I have.

This kind of shit will be the death of decent society.  Teenagers do dumb stuff.  As long as no one gets hurt and permanent damage is not done, let it slide.  Not in today’s cancel culture.

What I can promise you is that this will not end well.

More than 140 children were ritually killed in a single event in Peru more than 500 years ago. What could possibly have been the reason?

More than 140 children and 200 young llamas appear to have been ritually sacrificed in an event that took place some 550 years ago on a wind-swept bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, in the shadow of what was then the sprawling capital of the Chimú Empire.

While incidents of human sacrifice among the Aztec, Maya, and Inca have been recorded in colonial-era Spanish chronicles and documented in modern scientific excavations, the discovery of a large-scale child sacrifice event in the little-known pre-Columbian Chimú civilization is unprecedented in the Americas—if not in the entire world.

Many of the children had their faces smeared with a red cinnabar-based pigment during the ceremony before their chests were cut open, most likely to remove their hearts. The sacrificial llamas appear to have met the same fate.

Elevated sea temperatures characteristic of El Niño would have disrupted marine fisheries in the area, while coastal flooding could have overwhelmed the Chimú’s extensive infrastructure of agricultural canals.

The Chimú succumbed to the Inca only decades after the sacrifices at Las Llamas.

Haagen Klaus, a professor of anthropology at George Mason University, has excavated some of the earliest evidence for child sacrifice in the region, at the 10th- to 12th-century site of Cerro Cerillos in the Lambayeque Valley, north of Huanchaco. The bioarchaeologist, who is not a member of the Las Llamas project, suggests that societies along the northern Peruvian coast may have turned to the sacrifice of children when the sacrifice of adults wasn’t enough to fend off the repeated disruptions wrought by El Niño.

I’m not suggesting that Greta, AOC, or any of the environmental-socialists on the Left are going to cut the beating hearts out of children to prevent climate change.

The Left prefers to shoot people, and when they cut up children it’s generally in the womb.

But if the precedence of the Ukraine and China under socialism holds true, they will starve millions of children to death to try and achieve their impossible utopia.
