Before you come after me as some sort of traitor to the cause, you should know me well enough by now that I shouldn’t have to list my pro-gun bona fides.

The fact is, I am the kind of person who will give credit where credit is due.

I was blindsided by this commercial.  The YouTube algorithm got me again, and I didn’t know what I was watching until the end.

Here it is:

The only real problem I have with this commercial is that those Sentry Safe XO-55 digital lockboxes are cheap pieces of shit.

I prefer the Liberty Handgun Vault line.  I have two myself.  I increased the security by anchoring them to studs with 3.5 inch lag bolts.  I trust Liberty because they make good full-size gun safes and their handgun vaults are USA made.

I know GunVault has a good reputation, and the internet shows how tough they are.  Hornady is new to the gun lockbox market, but their quality seems to be very good too.

(Once again, as an aside, fuck the Lock Picking Lawyer, my kid and the meth head ransacking my place for shit to trade for drugs isn’t running around with specialty lock picking tools.)

But I digress…

I have no argument with the substance of this ad.

Clearly the position of the lockbox by the bed indicates that the dad has a loaded handgun for home protection.  Brady isn’t attacking that.  They are just saying, keep it locked away from the kids who can find it.

There are plenty of fast access lockboxes that only take a few seconds to open.

If you have a gun, lock it up.  Especially if you have kids or kids come over to your place.

The $100 – $200 that a good handgun box costs is worth the cost of not having to burry your child.

I will say it again.  As a father, I cannot imagine the pain that Fred Guttenberg must feel from his daughter being murdered at the Parkland shooting.

That said, he’s become a real partisan piece of shit.  Attacking law-abiding gun owners who did nothing while letting the Broward school board that made that disaster possible off the hook.

If he turned the same anger that he has for the NRA towards the Broward Democrat Machine, he might actually accomplish something that would punish the guilty and prevent future tragedies.

Here I am being cynical, that wouldn’t garner him the fame and fortune, media appearances, and being director of a foundation that does comedy nights.

His activism led him to be one of Nancy Pelosi’s guests to the SOTU.

While there, he really covered himself in glory.  Only Nancy’s speech shredding antics managed to outshine his.

He was ejected from the gallery for shouting at the President.

He was forced to apologize, with the sort of non-apology that is common on the Left.

“Tonight was a rough night. I disrupted the State Of The Union and was detained because I let my emotions get the best of me. I simply want to be able to deal with the reality of gun violence and not have to listen to the lies about the 2A [second amendment] as happened tonight.

That said, I should not have yelled out.  I am thankful for the overwhelming support that I am receiving. However, I do owe my family and friends an apology. I have tried to conduct myself with dignity throughout this process and I will do better as I pursue gun safety.”

The moment Guttenberg started to yell you could see Nancy look toward her side and put up her hand to shut up her guest.

I really should feel sorry for him because of the loss of his daughter, but he’s just such a hateful asshole I can’t bring myself to do it.

Most Americans should just detest themselves because of the actions of ancestors they never met, centuries ago, who did things that were the norm for their era.

I, from the bottom of my heart, am sorry that my ancestors in the 1880’s chose to move to New York City, which was stolen from the Wecquaesgeeks in 1624, instead of being murdered in a pogrom under the Kaiser.  What should I do about it?

I know, tell Hogg to go fuck himself because this is stupid.

One would hope that at some point Harvard might tell him to shut the fuck up, because he’s embarrassing the school.  I doubt it, but I can still hope.

Remember after 9/11, and the Fort Hood shooting, the airplane shoe bombing, and airplane underwear bombing, and the Madrid bombings, and the 7/7 London bombings, and the Little Rock and Chattanooga recruiting office shootings, and Boston Marathon bombing, and Nice truck attack, and San Bernardino shooting, and the Pulse Night Club shooting, and both London Bridge mass stabbings, the media wrung its hands and warned all of us about the impending backlash against Muslims in America.  That angry, racists Americans were going to start programs in Muslim communities and demand American Muslims be rounded up and interred like the Japanese during WWII*.

*While the media does acknowledge the horrors of Japanese internment, they never quite get around to making it stick that it was a Democrat president and his supreme court justices that did it and justified it.

None of these violent, anti-Muslim actions never seemed to materialize.  And the few reported incidents turned out to be hoaxes.

Well, the media needs a new potential source for racist attacks.  And covering Jews being beaten up in New York just inst the kind of racist attacks they can sell papers to Progressives with.

Apparently the Washington Post doesn’t realize it’s 2020 and not 1889.

The big concern seems to be that the Chinese government, which is notoriously non-transparent and untrustworthy, as all Communist dictatorships are, is not doing enough to help the rest of the world contain the virus.

The Washington Post wants to believe that means white Americans are going to start marching with signs about the “yellow peril” like they are coming here to build a railroad.

There seems to have been one racist incident relating to the virus, but it happened in New York City and not the Deep South, and the perpetrator belongs to the same demographic that has been attacking New York’s Jews.  So don’t expect to hear about it on the major news networks.

While the rest of the world worries about a potentially deadly pandemic that makes the Spanish Flu look like a runny nose, the media is looking for a way to make concerns over an outbreak into a way of making white people look racist.

Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib walked out of the SOTU early.

They decided to Tweet this upon their exit:

I know, I know, you are tired of me talking about it. But last night during the State Of The Union,  we had excellent examples of the use of optics. Trump had people like a rehabilitated convict to a 100 year old Tuskegee Airman to drive home the idea that he is doing more for minorities than anybody before.  Praised ICE and his agents with the presence of a Hispanic officer which kinda kills the ICE = KKK narrative. And there were more moments like this through the speech including the recognition to Rush Limbaugh that was Trump’s way to piss on the Democrat’s eye.

But even though people were talking about those moments, the top optic moment of the night did not come from Trump but from bonehead Nancy Pelosi:

She was pissed, no doubt. She spent the speech trying to control her reactions to the President and failing only to have her guest start screaming at the President during the speech like it was some county fair and she finishes by tearing he copy of the State of The Union in front of God and Country demonstrating an amazing level of pettiness.

Wether it was a pre-staged move or not, people immediately classified her actions as bitchy and disrespectful. The Narrative was set in Social media before she was able to get out of chambers and it will never be seen in any other way.

And that my friends, is bad optics, the kind that will destroy anything you’ll do in the future. She gave ammunition to her enemies and made the President’s voter base even more aroused in his defense.

She archived the opposite she was looking for.
