Nursing Homes deaths. Miami v.. New York

One day I have to sit down and write about the need that the intelligentsia and the Media have to make Miami and South Florida the Poconos of the South.  They secretly wish we would be more like New York than have our own identity, warts and all.

With that pro NYC bent, it is stands clearly the enormous bias against anything the Republicans do down here and specially Governor Ron DeSantis. If you were only fed what the Miami Herald and the Sun Sentinel were  saying about how the State Executive has dealt with the Wuhan Virus, you would be imagining we had bodies of the affected washing ashore Miami Beach like bales of cocaine dropped from fast boats, or piling up on the streets  in downtown .

If something both papers have been beating on was Wuhan deaths in Nursing homes. The State (stupidly IMHO) kept the numbers away from the media and they obviously jumped at the conspiracy theory to make a case about how shitty DeSantis was dealing with the Pandemic. Of course, they do not mention what kind of job Andrew Gillum would have done, but he as been memory holed at least for the foreseeable future.

The data was finally released. We have now a list of all facilities with cases detected and the list of deaths, also by facility.  As of May 3,  there were 423 deaths in Nursing homes in the state representing 32% of the deaths by the virus in the state since the whole thing started.

ZOMG! DeSantis hates abuelitos and wants them dead!

That was pretty much the reaction if you did not check the lists with care and notice all the nursing homes that had cases but not deaths and the huge list of homes without cases or deaths. Yes, it is in the links above, always check the source material. DeSantis is hated so even one death will be at least an attributable manslaughter to him.

So, I decided to ignore the local rags because for all the Pulitzers they get, they are not interested in the Truth but doing business and Propaganda for the Democrats. That was till J.Kb. last night sent me this:

Coronavirus News: More than 1,700 previously undisclosed deaths at NY nursing homes

What do you mean “previously undisclosed”? And what do you mean by 1,700 deaths? For the love of God, the whole state of Florida right now only has 1,539 deaths! How many people have died in NY nursing homes?

At least 4,813 people have died from COVID-19 in the state’s nursing homes since March 1, according to a tally released by Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration late Monday that, for the first time, includes people believed to have been killed by the coronavirus before their diagnoses could be confirmed by a lab test.

That is more than three times the number of overall deaths for Florida. , Again three times more people have died in nursing homes in NYC than the whole state of Florida.

Exactly how many nursing home residents have died remains uncertain despite the state’s latest disclosure, as the list doesn’t nursing home residents who were transferred to hospitals before dying.

That may explain how come Cuomo was trying to push infected patients in other locations, sort of a three card monte with living patients and suddenly he ran out of space.

The revised list shows that 22 nursing homes, largely in New York City and Long Island, have reported at least 40 deaths.
Parker Jewish Institute in Queens and Isabella Geriatric Center – one of New York City’s largest nursing homes with 705 beds – have reported the highest number of deaths: 71 and 64, respectively.

And how about the Sunshine State? There were only four institutions with deaths in the double digits and the high number was 14 (Yes, fourteen).  After that is single digits and I reckon 70% of the remaining facilities with 2 or less deaths.  And that is not all the nursing homes in Florida, just the ones with one or more death reported. The second link has the list of all homes and do check the amount of those with zero deaths, it is simply inspiring. The top two nursing homes in NY had the equivalent deaths of the top 14 in the State of Florida. That is right down scary.

To this day, I have yet to see any if our local rags say an unkind word against Governor Cuomo or Mayor de Blasio. There may have been some, but they are probably drowned in the tsunami of fake news and hit pieces against our Governor. I guess they want us to be so much like New York City, they would not mind having more old people die as long as they can get regular Broadway-like shows and Fine Art Museums with intelligent conversation.

And to this day, I have yet to see all these “I Heart NY” “journalists” cover the nursing homes up in their Gotham Mecca or any other pandemic blunder for that matter.

I have to paraphrase an old sticker I saw when I moved here: You don’t like Miami? Take I-95 North and GTFO.

We like to keep our elderly alive.

“You can’t beat the Military.”

We all have heard that threat/advice coming from the mouth of the Antis and we smile knowingly how much different things are in real life.

This I just found on a totally unrelated thread in Facebook and decided it is a good example of what kind of trouble a government would be facing if they decide to go stupid.

Whenever I get cocky I go watch one of our local long range precision guys zeroing in for a match. And then I’m not cocky any more.

Yesterday saw one, COVID-bored shitless. He put two 1″ stickers on his target about 3″ apart and ran it out to 100 yards, and put three rounds through each sticker in about fifteen seconds total. Rear bag, front rest. The hole on the left sticker you could barely tell was more than one round. The hole on the right sticker looked like a single shot.

Let me translate that for the uninitiated: A civilian rifleman at a football field’s distance shot two targets, not at the equivalent distance between the eyes of a person three times each, but at the equivalent distance between pupils of the person three times each in 15 seconds.

Yes, he is one of the great shooters and one of the very few. But a reminder that there are at least every years some 14 million long gun shooters that go hunting and can put a round within a 2 inch circle at 100 yards on a bad day.

What military in the world have 14 million snipers?

Another Progressive for mass murder

Remember the Jew-hating, Arminian Genocide-denying, bestiality-enthusiast, pile of human garbage that ran for Congress, Cenk Uygur?

He spoke his mind on Twitter.

He really is the archetypical Progressive.

The people he doesn’t like can all be starved and condemned misery, destitution, and death, just because he doesn’t like them.

This is why he named his show after the genocidal Turkish political party.

He loves what they did to the Armenians and what Stalin did to the Ukrainians.

There is nothing that gives him a hard-on more than the mass death of people who disagree with him politically, except for pleasuring farm animals.

Again, this is why I own guns.

This is why you don’t marry a Woke woman

Prince Harry sells rifles, quits hunting for Meghan Markle

Prince Harry has reportedly sold his prized handmade rifles worth more than $60,000 after he quit hunting out of respect for his actress wife Meghan Markle.

Harry, 35, has unloaded the two weapons — from a British gunmaker Purdey — by selling them to another hunter in a private deal, according to The Sun.

The former royal, who learned to hunt as a child, has not joined his colleagues at recent game shooting events and is believed to have quit hunting altogether due to Markle’s opposition to the practice.

This breaks my heart.

Oh, the things I would do to own a pair of Purdey rifles.

I’ve seen pictures of Meghan Markle.  There is no way she is good enough in the sack to make a man sell off his handmade side-by-sides.

Then there is this headline from a little while back.

Exclusive: Prince Harry misses the Army and tells friends his life has been turned upside down
After Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping down as senior royals, the Duke was forced to relinquish his military roles

The Duke of Sussex has told friends he “cannot believe” what has happened in recent months and that he misses the Army, The Telegraph has learned.

Prince Harry has confided in pals that he “misses the camaraderie” of life in the Armed Forces, where he was affectionately known as ‘Captain Wales’, having been stripped of his military appointments following the Sussexes’ split from the Royal Family on March 31.

After Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping down as senior royals in January, the Duke was forced to relinquish his roles as Captain General Royal Marines, Honorary Air Commandant, RAF Honington and Commodore-in-Chief, Small Ships and Diving, Royal Naval Command.

I had always liked Prince Harry.   He was the quieter brother and was a helicopter gunship pilot who flew combat missions in the Middle East.  He was rotated home when the news of this broke because the Crown feared he would become a target.  But by all reports, he preferred the life of a soldier to that of the Royal Court.

This is why you don’t marry a Woke woman.

Harry has given up his guns and his military career so that his wife could do voiceover work for Disney because she wasn’t allowed to be a Dutchess and a paid actress at the same time.

Honestly, at this point, if she ended up doing a John Denver or Kobe Bryant or JFK Jr, (it’s a long list) arranged by MI5, and Harry was allowed to return to the US with a quiet life as an instructor at Sandhurst, I think everyone would be better off.

NYPD PBA has some common sense

From the New York Post:

NYPD union wants cops out of ‘social distancing enforcement’

The city’s largest police union is demanding cops get “out of the social distancing enforcement business,” while slamming New York pols for “releasing criminals,” “discouraging proactive policing,” and leaving subways “in chaos.”

“This situation is untenable: the NYPD needs to get cops out of the social distancing enforcement business altogether,” a statement from Police Benevolent Association president Patrick Lynch said.

“The cowards who run this city have given us nothing but vague guidelines and mixed messages, leaving the cops on the street corners to fend for ourselves,” Lynch said. “Nobody has a right to interfere with a police action. But now that the inevitable backlash has arrived, they are once again throwing us under the bus.”

This is in reference to the story I brought to you on Monday, about the NYPD officer who punched a citizen while intervening on social distancing.  He was put on administrative duty bending review.   It should be noted that the officer in question has a history of excessive force and has been sued a number of times for it.

Lynch added that the politicians are “still watering down our laws, releasing real criminals and discouraging proactive enforcement of fare evasion and quality of life issues.”

“As a result, our subways are in chaos and we have hero nurses getting mugged on their way to our hospitals,” he said, referring to a nurse who had her phone torn out of her hand in Times Square on April 26. “As the weather heats up and the pandemic continues to unravel our social fabric, police officers should be allowed to focus on our core public safety mission. If we don’t, the city will fall apart before our eyes.”

There are only so many police to go around.  They can either break up groups of people talking outside or they can stop real crimes that do significant harm to society.  The Mayor’s office wants the former, not the latter.

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams also wants cops out of the social distancing business but for different reasons. He believes the process is racist.

“It has been two weeks since my office requested that the administration release demographic data on social distancing enforcement, and over a month since we cautioned against a response reliant on law enforcement rather than a more holistic community enforcement strategy,” he said. “Now, we see both why they have been resistant to our calls and why it is even more critical and urgent they address this selective enforcement against people and communities of more color.”

He said recent social distancing incidents — including a large Orthodox Jewish funeral service in Brooklyn — have made it clear that the same racial disparities that occurred in stop-and-frisk are happening with social distancing enforcement.

It’s good to see someone else, especially someone outside the Jewish community, call out the Mayor’s office for their selective enforcement of social distancing mandates on different communities.

This has been an utter disaster for the NYPD and city of New York.

Real, violent crimes are ignored by police, and property crime is through the roof.  The good people of New York are getting upset with the NYPD for their heavy-handed and officious enforcement of an executive order.

This is not making the city safer, it’s just making people feel like they live in a tyrannical dystopia.

It’s good to see the police union call out this terrible enforcement policy that undermines the social stability of the city.

Crosswalk Karen

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why would anybody engage this woman. You are first in the right lane, turn and get out of the conflict.

And why would you go and do a stupid thing like opening the door?

Oy!
