Texas, we have a problem: Biden administration ‘pleads with NASA to get their employees to volunteer’ at overcrowded border facilities

NASA has sent their employees an email asking if they would volunteer at Joe Biden’s overcrowded camps for migrants crossing the border.

In an email obtained by The Intercept’s Ken Klippenstein, the space agency said the Department of Health and Human Services was looking for people to put themselves for 120 days of work to help unaccompanied kids coming from Mexico.

Several other agencies are believed to have received similar requests. DailyMail.com has reached out to Health and Human Services for comment.

A few thoughts come to mind.

First, this really shows you the scale of how bad it’s gotten on the border, that the government has to ask employees from other agencies to be warm bodies to serve the surge.

Second, this really shows you the disrespect that Biden has for NASA.  NASA is overwhelmingly popular with the American people.  It, much like the military used to be, was seen as an apolitical force for good.  That NASA can’t be allowed to exist anymore, NASA must be forced to serve the party and the party needs warm bodies to serve the border surge, Q.E.D. NASA must serve the border surge.

Obama tried to turn NASA into the Climate Change and Make Muslims Feel Good About Their Contributions to Science A Thousand Years Ago Agency.  Trump, really did want to send us back to the Moon and then onto Mars.  Since everything Trump did has to be erased, having NASA hand out blankets at a migrant detention center just adds insult to injury to NASA.

I can’t wait until Biden decides to house illegals in the Smithsonian, because eventually every government employee and agency will be pressed into serving only the more political and high profile needs of the party.

Let me be clear:

Any government that is so small it cannot stop a bunch of radical ideologues from engaging in the Mengele-esque sexual mutilation of children because of their adherence to that radical ideology, that government is just too fucking small.

Prosecution visibly shaken after cross-examination of MPD force & medical experts

Today was a terrible, horrible no good, very bad day for the prosecution, to a degree that I haven’t seen since the trial of George Zimmerman.

If you have no more than an hour to watch the video of today’s proceedings, then I urge you to spend 44 minutes watching the cross-examination of state witness Johnny Mercil, the state’s use-of-force training expert, and 22 minutes watching the cross-examination of Nicole MacKenzie, the state’s medical care training expert. In both instances the result can only be called a train wreck of a disaster for the prosecution.

Indeed, after the judge dismissed Mercil from the witness stand, Prosecutor Schleiter appeared visibly shaken and angry—and he ought to have, given the mauling his case just received. At one point Mercil testified the he himself had personally kept a suspect physically restrained until EMS had arrived on scene, behavior which the state has been arguing for over a week was misconduct on the part of Chauvin.

Even worse, not only did the cross-examination of MacKenzie by the defense also go badly for the prosecution, it went so badly that Nelson informed the court that he intended to re-call MacKenzie as a defense witness when he presented his case in chief.

There were two other witnesses today, neither of which went particularly badly for the state, although in the case of one of them I expect it was only because the prosecution was saved by the bell when the court recessed early in the day—that doesn’t save the prosecution, that witness will be back tomorrow, and I anticipate that the defense is going to have a field day with him on cross-examination, as well.

In addition, Morries Hall, the passenger in the car with Floyd, does not want to testify and would plead the 5th.  The theory is that he doesn’t want to confess to selling Floyd a lethal dose of fentanyl and implicating himself in a crime.

Lots of reasonable doubt is being injected into this case.  Probably enough to get a not guilty verdict.

This summer is going to be rough.

I have seen the grumblings in Social Media about the alleged danger of the vaccine, and when the numbers come out, they usually reflect such a miniscule number you simply go ahead and dismiss the whole shebang. Some people, no matter what, will always will throw snake eyes when it comes to a medication or a vaccine.

So I was more than surprised when I see this out of the NY Post.

As many as 246 Michigan residents who were “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19 later tested positive for the deadly bug — including three who have died, according to a new report.

The group — whose cases were reported between Jan. 1 and March 31 — tested positive at least two weeks after receiving the last dose of the inoculation, a health official told the Detroit News.

I read the whole article and noticed something missing: The total number of Citizens of Michigan that had received both shots so I could make a determination of the gravity of the issue. And of course, I could not find it in the article, so I had to do a little bit of GoogleFu.

One Point Nine Five Million people in Michigan have had both shots. But we are subjected to the “horrifying news” that 246 recipients (0.0014%) still got infected and three of them (0.000015%) died. I believe the statistical term is called a “blip.”

Why this sudden need to portray danger coming out of the vaccine? Is it because people are starting to question the need to continue the Social Distancing and mask protocols? If we have been immunized, why are restaurants and bars not open? Why I can’t go to Disneyland?

A questioning populace always spells trouble for the Powers That Be.

Yes, it’s a click-bait headline, but I fell for it.

30% of American Gun Sales Were in This State

U.S. gun sales in March surged 25% to 4,691,738. This makes it among the largest single month since sales figures started to be recorded in 1998.

The increase is part of a trend. Gun sales in the United States rose 40% last year to 39,695,315. That represents the high water mark in annual gun sales since the current record-keeping system went into effect. Increases by state in March varied substantially, as has been the case for years.

According to Forbes: “Americans Are Spending Their Stimulus Checks On Guns.”  So, yeah, I totally believe those numbers.

This is where the click-bait article threw me, I never would have guessed what came next.

The state with the most sales in March was Illinois at an extraordinary 1,427,197. That is 30% of national sales for the month. However, the state has slightly less than 4% of the national population. The same pattern holds true for the state that had the second-highest gun sales figure last month. Kentucky’s figure hit 330,476, or 7% of the national total. Its population is only 1.3% of the U.S. number.

Illinois is breaking records.

Understand that to buy a gun in Illinois requires a state-issued FOID (Firearms Owner ID) and comes with a waiting period.  So if in Illinois, the trend of record high percentages of first-time gun owners holds true, I can’t imagine how swamped the Ilinois State Police are just processing FOID applications.

I have been trying to figure out what caused such a spike in Illinois.  It must be that the people of the state have been watching the local news and seeing just how much of a lawless, violent shithole parts of Chicago have become.

Good job people of Illinois, I am proud of you.

The rest of America, you need to catch up to Illinois numbers next month.

Update:

I had not considered that the ISP runs background checks as part of the FOID issuance.  I know they did, but I didn’t consider that these checks might be included in the background check count.  In that case, there is probably a lot of double counting, i.e., one check for the FOID and a second check at point of sale.  This number would also include background checks in FOID applications or renewals that don’t include a gun purchase.

Still, if you assume that every one of these is a double count, that’s still a lot of guns sold and a lot of new FOID applicants.  So good job people of Illinois.
