Month: September 2021

My friend Carl Weeks has passed away.

He is the one that I bought my first gun from back in 1983. We struck a friendship since then and after moving to Tennessee, I was thrilled to see him every week,  have coffee, talk crap about the government and send lead downrange.

He left us way too soon.
I am going to miss him.

Bracing to be culturally enriched

From Austria:

Rape, killing of 13-year-old shocks Austria, 3 Afghans held

From Germany:

Afghan man, 29, repeatedly stabs female gardener in the neck in park ‘because he didn’t like the fact she was a working woman’

From 2017:

I’ve Worked with Refugees for Decades. Europe’s Afghan Crime Wave Is Mind-Boggling.

But there was one development that had not been expected, and was not tolerable: the large and growing incidence of sexual assaults committed by refugees against local women. These were not of the cultural-misunderstanding-date-rape sort, but were vicious, no-preamble attacks on random girls and women, often committed by gangs or packs of young men. At first, the incidents were downplayed or hushed up—no one wanted to provide the right wing with fodder for nationalist agitation, and the hope was that these were isolated instances caused by a small problem group of outliers. As the incidents increased, and because many of them took place in public or because the public became involved either in stopping the attack or in aiding the victim afterwards, and because the courts began issuing sentences as the cases came to trial, the matter could no longer be swept under the carpet of political correctness. And with the official acknowledgment and public reporting, a weird and puzzling footnote emerged. Most of the assaults were being committed by refugees of one particular nationality: by Afghans.

According to Austrian police statistics, Syrian refugees cause fewer than 10 percent of sexual assault cases. Afghans, whose numbers are comparable, are responsible for a stunning half of all cases.

Public swimming pools are confronted with epidemics of young Afghan men who think it a good idea to expose themselves, whipping off their pants and standing there until tackled by the lifeguards and removed from the premises with orders to never return.

So imagine my feelings when I read this:

North Carolina Prepares For Afghan Refugees

Today, there’s a good chance some of the new Afghan refugees will end up right here, calling North Carolina home. Cities like Durham are ready and willing.

“Let me be clear. In Durham, we will take them in. We will resettle them here. We will support them in every way we can. We will embrace them and we will love them,” Durham Mayor Steve Schewel said at a recent press conference outside City Hall.

Oh golly gee, North Carolina is gonna get culturally enriched so hard because the Woke mayor of the Wokest city in the Wokest county in the state wants to virtue signal.

This is the General who will be held accountable for Afghanistan

Biden Was Warned By General In Charge Of U.S. Forces In Afghanistan That Intel Was Bad, Report Says

Gen. Austin Miller, the Commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan from 2018 through July of this year, reportedly warned Democrat President Joe Biden against withdrawing all forces from Afghanistan, and he strongly pushed back against intelligence reports that said the Afghan military could hold off the Taliban for 1-3 years, indicating that they would collapse significantly faster.

Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich said that Miller made the remarks during a classified Senate Armed Services Committee hearing yesterday, according to multiple sources who were present in the hearing.

“According to two members present for the hearing, Gen Miller passed his recommendations through the chain of command — that the US should keep a level of troops on the ground (2500 was the number at the time) in order to maintain stability given the Taliban threat assessment,” Heinrich wrote. “Miller’s view was troops should maintain holding pattern – potentially supplemented by add’l forces from allied nations – given the threat. Miller shared no recommendation on how long forces should have stayed, making clear he didn’t know what the end timeline would be.”

“Miller also said that he strongly dissented with the intel assessment that Afghanistan would fall to the Taliban between 1-3 years, saying he thought it would go much, much faster,” Heinrich continued. “Miller also said once his recommendation was turned down, it became his job to execute on the withdrawal order – and eventually, decisions like abandoning Bagram were made because of constraints and troop caps imposed by the President’s orders.”

So the General on the ground disagrees with the intelligence community, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, President Biden, and said so to the chain of command.

He was overruled and obeyed orders.

Then he told the Senate what happened.

The are 231 Generals in the US Army and only one didn’t engage in bureaucratic group think and predicted the pullout of Afghanistan correctly.

Yeah, the Administration is going to burn him.

To make matters worse, he’s the sort of general troops love and would follow into hell.  He was a Special Forces officer and was a captain in Mogadishu during Operation Gothic Serpent.

Is exactly the opposite of the politician ass-kissing, bureaucratic, looking for a cushy MIC job after retirement, general that the rest of our flag officers seem to be.

Which is why he recognized the truth about Afghanistan and was willing to say something about it.

That makes General Miller a threat to the bureaucrat military and this administration.

They are going to burn Miller.

Just you watch.

They are going to ruin him so that he can’t do anything after retirement.  They will ruin his reputation.  I suspect they might even try criminal charges to take his pension.

So when the news that General Miller is being investigated for something comes out, know that he is being burned by the Administration for speaking out against the group think.

Who did not see this coming?

When you trust scorpions, you get stung. And that goes quadruple when they figure you are an empty suit occasionally filled with enough bullshit to choke a manure truck.

In the meantime, besides the tepid social media posting, Women’s Rights organizations worldwide are pretty much mum about the rapid regression of quality of life for females in Afghanistan. And sure as hell we won’t see any of them “activists” jump in a plane and go stand next to her fellow females and demand they be respected.

Then again activism is hard when the “nice” consequence is being flogged in the local public square and the “not so nice” is being used as rock stopper for a stoning party.
