Readers of this blog know that secure gun storage is a big deal for me.

Secure gun storage is three part system:

One: The strength of the storage container itself.

Two: How well the storage container is secured to the premises.

Three: How secure is the premises and the location within the premises where the storage container is placed.

There are a lot of garbage gun storage boxes put there made of flimsy material that can be opened in seconds with a claw hammer.  Those may provide some resistance to a child who comes across your gun box, but isn’t a deterrent to theft.

At a minimum, if you buy a gun safe, it should be tested to the standards of a UL RSC (residential security container).  I have recommended other containers, such as a Job Box, for gun storage.  I know what the UL RSC standard is, and a quality job site box will meet that standard.  It’s far better than the garbage import safe from Harbor Freight.

If you buy a good storage container but don’t secure it, that’s also not a deterrent to theft.  I recently wrote about anchoring a Cannon safe i purchased to an OSB floor.  I moved the safe myself with a dolly I bought at Costco.  So if it was not anchored down, a thief could carry the safe away with him using a similar dolly and open the safe at their leisure off site.

Lastly is the rest of the house.  No safe is impenetrable.  It’s a function of how much time and effort a thief wants to put into breaking into your safe.  If the thief has time on their side, they might do it.

I’ve heard horror stories of thieves spending days cutting into good safes in garages while the homeowner is away on vacation.

Put your safe in a part of the house where your security system covers it.

If a garage is all you have, get a wireless motion detection security system and put it in the garage and aim it at your safe.

Create layers of security to protect your guns.

Now, let’s turn to anti-gun Congresswoman Karen Bass and see what she did wrong.

Two firearms were stolen during a burglary at the home of Rep. Karen Bass on Friday evening, the Los Angeles mayoral candidate said in a statement released Saturday.

Bass said she came home Friday to find signs of a break-in and called police. The thief stole firearms that had been “safely and securely stored” but left behind cash, electronics and other valuables, she said.

Bass communications director Sarah Leonard Sheahan confirmed to The Times that the guns belonged to the congresswoman and said they were secured in a Brinks lock box.

There we have it.

A Brinks lock box is not a gun safe.  It’s a thin metal box designed to keep employees from surreptitiously stealing cash from the boss’s office.  It can be pried open with a screw driver.

It also can’t be secured to the premises like a cable lock gun box.

That wasn’t secured in any reasonable way, that was nicely packaged for a thief.

I’m also tempted to call bullshit on the whole story since the thief took only the guns cash and jewelry.

I think the thief knew about the guns and this wasn’t some random break-in.

But whatever the case, my point remains unchanged.

When anti-gun people talk about secure storage, they have no idea what they are talking about.

Gallows humor is part of what allows men to function in horrific situations. These are jokes that are absolutely politically incorrect and many times would get people in trouble if people outside of the cadre were to overhear.

A surgeon told me this joke:

No doctor is going to look at a patent with diabetes and tell them flat out that they expect to amputate one or more legs in the future. It just isn’t done. At the same time it allows the doctor to provide a little bit of distance between the horror of having to cut a person’s leg off because there is no other option.

Every profession has it’s gallows humor. Even us computer nerds. Recently we were at the 30 hour mark of a business down event. I’m on chat with the client. The owner has chewed his fingers to the elbows while his tech and I work the problem. I say to the tech “I’m going to wait just a few more minutes, we are just about there and then say “Uh… Opps” in the group chat. We can watch Boss have a heart attack.

Tech and I laughed but we didn’t do it. At our AAR I told boss dude about the joke and he said “Tech saved my life.”

It is humor, just dark.

And I believe the number might be short. But anyway, fighting for those truly oppressed people does not make for good PR in the US Media, so “celebrities” do not do shit about it.

And with that with that amount of excess fat, she will join the pantheon of early deceased performers which will prove how oppressed she really was to the evil White Supremacist Health Care system and Toxic Cisgender Fast Food Industry.

This kid has already been to juvie. So he’s gonna go in and out of jail and prison until he kills someone and goes away for life or gets killed while doing something stupid by a cop, CCW, or another thug.

Why let him hurt people in the meantime?

Honestly, I’m of the opinion that we cut to the end and toss him in the ground now.

Compassion is good, but being stupid is not.

There is no amount of spanking that will reform him.

We have a very good idea of what his future holds.  Why not act on it accordingly and spare innocent people suffering.

The missus and I sat down to watch this miniseries without any prior knowledge of the theme. It is basically a Big Oil scientist is urgently called by the company because there are reports of internal combustion engines all over failing because of the fuel. Olanes are falling off the skies, ships are drifting in the oceans, cars are catching on fire, and nobody knows why.

OK, let me summarize: Big Oil Scientist was once a young idealistic EcoFreak who designed as a college student a bacteria* to eat away oil spills in the ocean and his partner weaponized the bacteria and introduced it in the oil supplies via his own eco terrorist group financed by his trust fund monies. The world’s oil is being destroyed fast and there is a race to stop it…but it eventually fails after the series spending time concentrated in shit that makes no sense and huge plot holes you could sail a modern cruise ship through and sideways.

But fear not because the ending is bright. After about 6 months or so according to the way the series ends, people got together in the World, eschewed governments and suddenly there was world peace and free energy from…. no fucking idea, they cannot even explain how. How people got together worldwide when there is no power to even recharge their cellphones is one of those mysteries they avoid explaining. Apparently, they hint that everybody is now not only Vegan but grow stuff in the balconies of the buildings…. fuck it, I cannot keep cataloguing the many masturbatory dreams they tried to portray and how they do not care how many people they kill or will be killed.

This is a movie by Enviromentals who the only green thing they have ever grown was the mold in the caulk of their bathrooms.

* For some reason, my brain seems to remember a similar plot from a book or movies from the 70s. If there is such thing, these idiots are not even original, but at least they recycled something.

I believe the bully predator is possibly beyond help. But if one on my kids would stand there with a camera doing nothing but record the abuse, he would need ass reconstructive ass surgery and then would have to get a fucking cardboard box to live under a bridge somewhere.

Sunday was the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Social media broke down into two camps.

Camp 1: Predominantly the Right, along with some moderates and independents.  Posted remembrances of the victims of the attack and tributes to the first responders.

Camp 2: Wokies, Leftists, Biden voters, people with Pride flags and pronouns in their bios.  Posted equivalence between 9/11 and the 1/6 protest and used 9/11 to attack Trump supporters and Republicans (most of Camp 1) as terrorists.  Some even went as far as to say 1/6 was worse because the protesters were Americans.

Yesterday proved that we are headed down the path of Balkanization.

That some people can look at the 9/11 attacks, where 2,996 Americans died, see pictures of the Twin Towers burning, the picture of the falling man, the months of rescue and recovery operations, and then look at video from a few hours one afternoon in January, where the only casualty was a protester, and say “the were the same and ackchyually the second one was worse;” I just cannot share a nation with those people.  Camp 1 and Camp 2 cannot coexist peacefully sustainably.
