I would not be surprised.
Illustrative of this is one incident when I was a student going through Electronic Warfare school and we were in the phase of ID’ing signals via their characteristics and sound. Our instructor was an RC-135 ELINT EWO with probably 2,000 hours of experience. We were screwing up IDs and he said in an exasperated manner:
“I’ve seen these thousands of times and get them immediately — why can’t any of you?”
No $hit, Capt. Wilhelm, that’s exactly why you can and we can’t.
