I purchased one of these in 12 inches, the ASP Protector concealable baton.

It is about the same size as a tactical flashlight the uses two CR123 batteries (Surefire 6P, Streamlight ProTac, etc), just under one inch in diameter and five inches long.

Clipping it into a pocket you’d think it was just a tactical flashlight.

In these uncertain times, it is a tool to fit between nothing and a gun.

You need to check your state laws to see if it legal in your area.  Alabama doesn’t care.  It is legal in Florida with a CWP (in Florida it is a Concealed Weapons Permit, so it’s good for more than just guns).

If it is legal in your state, I think it is a tool worth the $45 I found it for online.

Stay safe out there.

  1. I use to have a knock off version that had a neat feature, the end cap could be taken off and replaced with an LED flashlight. It ran on two of the quarter size batteries. It was bright enough that it worked as a reasonable flash light.

I’ve had police officers see me turn it on and off and let me put it back in my pocket in a “no weapons” zone. I know somebody that has done the light demonstration in MA and gotten away with it.

Regardless, the ASP and its equivalents are cool extras for the kit.

(As an aside, I made a aluminum dildo about 6 inches long and an inch in diameter for a girl that was moving to NYC. She wasn’t allowed to carry any weapons in NYC, but nobody said a thing about the pink dildo on her key ring. She had the training to use it in devastating ways.)

    1. I like the idea of the flashlight cap … both for the cover, and, well, it’s an extra flashlight!

  2. Tennessee is a little weird. We have a specific baton class you have to take in addition to getting your enhanced carry permit.

  3. I took a baton class years ago and keep an ASP in the car.
Carry a sap and also took a class in those. But where did you find an Agent for $45? Best price I saw was about $130.
PS Levenger sells a book weight. Check it out.
