  1. Does it apply to bloggers, too?

    From yesterday….

Judge finds probable cause in protest shooting case

“Following a two-day hearing, state District Judge Cristina Jaramillo rejected one of the more serious charges, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, a third-degree felony, connected to a woman who was violently thrown to the ground by Baca.

Jaramillo lowered that charge to misdemeanor aggravated battery, saying she took issue with the “great bodily harm” element as the woman reported bruising, but didn’t seek medical attention and, instead, even went to the Frontier to eat afterward.

But Jaramillo found probable cause to charge Baca with the other felony charge of aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and misdemeanor counts of battery and unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon in the shooting of Scott Williams and assault of two women during a protest outside the Albuquerque Museum on June 15.”

        1. Nope. Didn’t work. And the criticism that you didn’t follow up is crap because you shouldn’t be expected to pay for every podunk little rag’s follow up reporting…

  2. If you are willing to contribute 7 high figures so I can have a dedicated news feed service and make a living so the only thing I do by my lonesome is to make sure I follow almost all shooting cases, you can go ahead an try to tag me like that.

PS: Don’t forget that Zimmerman also had a bulletproof case against him…or so the prosecutors said.

  3. Young Dwight appears to have missed the (many) occasions when Our Bloghost, and His Partner In Commentary, have called out bogus shooting by whomever.

But, I suppose, if y’all miss *one* bogus shooting, upon which to comment, y’all are irreparably besmirched.

  4. So Miguel knows full well that he dedicated a post to this incident in June and there was an extended discussion in the comments about whether Baca was going to be charged and critical elements of the shooting itself. There may have even been two posts. So the whole “jeez, I can’t follow every shooting out there,” while a valid point, doesn’t really apply here because this blog covered it very well when it happened and people were flipping coins as to Baca’s future. (Full disclosure: everyone here told me I was FOS when it was my opinion that Baca should worry.)

The case can still go any which way but even if it doesn’t go away like Miguel believed it might, it’s still a great case to follow and learn from. We all know that carrying is a huge responsibility and, personally, I would rather learn from someone else’s mistakes than make my own.

Because none of us knows everything, even though we might author a blog and think we do.

    1. Dwight, once again, we will take your generous donation of high five figures so mistakes like this will never happen again.
To your right, you can see the Paypal link where i says DONATIONS.
I mean, you are truly interested in the quality of this blog, right? You are not just a troll and quite inefficient at that.

  5. Virtually all of the political garbage that is covered here is of no interest to me. I enjoy reading about gun issues and was originally attracted to the blog because of its title. But the more I stick around the more I see that it’s not so much guns but the politics of guns…and just plain politics…that you all are into here. If the issue doesn’t fit into your politics or once it falls out of your narrative, you don’t like to spend time on it. Which, of course, was my point with my initial comment that pointed out Miguel’s stunning lack of self awareness.

Your implication that if you can drum up more money from your readers, you’ll be able to do more google searches is as transparently insincere as it is ridiculous.

I’m not a troll. I’m genuinely interested in discussing guns and gun issues. Excuse me for point out the obvious that the Baca shooting is a damn good case study in the use of deadly force for those who are interested in such things rather than what Alyssa Milano or antifa is up to today. Which, strangely, you and your co-writer apparently have all the time in the world to write about.
