Miguel, there is a Florida species (or subspecies) of trapdoor spider. I have seen one. It was about the length of my thumb, thick-legged and heavy-bodied, black, and fuzzy. like a baby tarantula. The thought of them sitting in their burrows waiting for the next roach to come by doesn’t bother me. In those burrows is a good place for them to be.
If you excuse me, I am gonna DDT and Paraquat the shit out of my backyard.
Then I’ll pour concrete.
I remember a similar scene in Red Dawn.
