It’s not clear whether a national reciprocity law would completely gut local gun restrictions. While the legislation would allow out-of-state visitors to flout local firearm laws, advocates for gun control remain hopeful that state governments would retain the power to enforce more stringent regulations on their own residents.

I posted last week and many times before: The Intelligentsia, Gun Control groups and assorted acolytes fear National Reciprocity because they may not be able to keep their subjects citizens in check and may even kick them out of political positions once they taste a sampling of Freedom. But it is nice to see it fully in print for once as it also serves as admission that they do not hold a high concept of those they keep electing them which might be right.

Now, if New York and New Jersey and assorted “intelligent” states are really afraid, I suggest a solution they could easily implement: Banning any kind of carry permit unless they are properly credited and active Law Enforcement. No permits for the selected buddies or legislators or members of the judiciary or trying to carry by <wink wink> Auxiliary LEO or Private Detectives or other protection services or any other runaround bull crap.

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. Where can folks “with violent criminal convictions” carry? Oh, yeah, that’s right — nowhere. If it’s a felony (even non-violent), Federal law itself means those folks won’t be carrying legally, never mind what a state license/permit requires.

    1. “carrying legally” – that is the heart of the matter. Criminals simply don’t care what prohibitions are in place, they WILL carry anywhere and everywhere they darned well want to. Meanwhile, law abiding Citizens are proscribed from carrying in a multitude of locations within their own states of residence. much less by crossing state lines into gun restricted states.

  2. NFO Is right. George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, even Donald Trump, and the like will always have their private “security.” No way will they go without, and costs be damned. Bill “Werner Wilhelm” DeBlasio and anyone in our government or the UN will have their government provided armed security. They will refuse to lose their status symbol security.

The good news is the after Heller and MacDonald, we should gain the same rights. It will just take years and dollars. Many years. And many dollars.
