Hilariously, Beto may have saved us from some serious fuckery from Trump today.
Trump was rumored to announce a ton of gun control measures today, even going so far as saying (paraphrasing) “I think we’ve found things that everyone can find acceptable.”
But after last night, Trump may correctly assume that the Democrats will take 100% credit for any movement in the gun-control direction, and that any movement in that direction will boost the eventual nominee.
So, hopefully Beto hit Trump in his ego and Trump response will be to torpedo the whole thing.
Hopefully.
It’s early in the day, though, so we’ll see.
It’s not just ARs and AKs, it’s M-1s, M-1 Carbines, M-14s, 03A3s, etc. because he SPECIFICALLY stated ANY guns based on guns developed for war. Technically that also includes Colt .45s, M-9s, etc…

There’s an awful lot of “if” there in his statement.
If he wins the Democratic nomination.
If he wins the vote in November.
If he survives until January to actually take office.
The first one ain’t happening, so the rest are moot.
