Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. That tree will probably STAY dry because NO ONE in office has the fukkin balls to stand for America. How many of those 80million gun owners would take a stand for America???? We just lost a HUGE fight and congress will still get a paycheck. The best thing to do is ignore it all from here on. Just live life. Out here.

  2. Agree with Curby.

The question is: Will they let you live life? Will they leave those who “just want to be left alone” alone?

Recent events have pretty well demonstrated they will not. Recent statements from some elected officials that should know better indicate not.

If 2020 taught me one thing, it is that CS Lewis was right.
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

Leftists at all levels of government have imposed lockdowns, mask mandates, and other crushing restrictions under the belief they are doing it for your own good. After today’s events, they will likely require some kind of re-education for those that disagree with their progressive politics.

No, it is not likely that you will be able to just live life. Not if you are active in any endeavor the leftists do not like.

      1. Please, NO.
Even if you think you’re right on this one, starting an insurrection is a strategic mistake of the first order. Harry Turtledove understands this — read “How few remain”, the first of his “southern victory” novels. It makes a really big deal about the point that being the first to shoot puts you in a really bad PR position.
For one thing, the evidence isn’t properly laid out. It needs to be gathered slowly and carefully and convincingly. Demented rants by Sidney Powell are not the kind of argument that gets you anywhere.
Things can be repaired next time around.

        1. The first shot was fired back in June, 2020 and they’ve been fighting unopposed since then. When do we start fighting back? Ever? Will there ever be a point where you think it’s time to start fighting back?

If we don’t start soon, we won’t ever get a chance.

  3. Hence Captain Parker’s admonition: “Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.” In the event that the regulars fired first, the colonist would simply be responding to lethal force that was initiated by the regulars. In terms of Mao’s “swimming in the sea of the people”, that fact pattern would be a force multiplier, as the colonists would appear in a positive light.

Similarly, waiting for antifa to breach your locked door, and then providing the appropriate welcome likely will not help you with a Sorosprosecutor, but might help you in the Court of Public Opinion.

  4. The only GUN in the Capital was in the hands of the cop who shot the protester. So what or whose life was he in fear of?
Oh never mind. He is a cop and the laws that apply to the rest of us peasants doesn’t apply to them or anyone on the left.
