Honestly, I’m not a fan of docked ears on Dobermans. They look goofy. Now, some people may claim that the docked ears make them look more intimidating, but I would say those people are missing one critical detail.
DOBERMAN.
The dog isn’t intimidating because his ears have been trimmed to look like devil horns. The dog is intimidating because the dog is a DOBERMAN.
I had them both ways, but untrimmed ears need extra care. The possibility of ear infection grows plus long ears are very sensitive and a weak point, specially if you have more then one dog…or an asshole cat. For some reason, they figure the ears quickly.
