The more you know. The shooting of Jakob Blake.

We know the term furtive movement:

A furtive movement is a movement reasonably consistent with going for a weapon and not reasonably consistent with anything else.

And IMHO we have that by the ton in this case. Actually the officers show proper restrain and contrary to some of the narratives, they did just not shot a black man getting in his car.

Here is the video again:

And here is a frame by frame collage of what happened:

Sorry, but the movements do not coincide with those of a person trying to get get seated inside his vehicle to drive away, but somebody trying to reach for something, more than likely a gun.  And as Andrew Branca explains above, that a weapon was found or not, is irrelevant.

Jakob Blake made a decision that was deadly flawed. Whatever made him decide this was the proper way to go, made him end up in the hospital and the city of Kenosha be subject to riots, theft, vandalism and arson.

And just like George Floyd, we have another felon on his way to become a cause celebre victim by the Media and the politicians.

  1. Part of the problem here is the recently deceased aspiring rapper might just have been trying to do a street cred thing, reaching for a water balloon, or a can of silly string, or some other generally innocuous item. However, the actions taken are similar enough to someone seeking a weapon that it results in a shooting, arrest, or other less than desirable event.

The person waving around a bb gun knows it is a (relatively) harmless item, but the cop does not have that same knowledge.

I am not defending this jackass, but when the media finds out it was just an airsoft gun, a water pistol, or he was really reaching for his wallet, they are going to eviscerate the police for shooting an “unarmed” man. This is an unfortunate side effect of the media being 100% clueless about self defense laws. A person, armed only with their hands, can be in possession of a deadly weapon, if they are using their hands to smash someone’s head against a concrete sidewalk,

  2. As Massad Ayoob says (in many videos, but you can search YouTube for one called “Cute Lawyer Tricks” — good info), “If you wait to see the gun, you’re going to see what comes out of the gun.”

The guy in this video didn’t stop when ordered, didn’t talk to the cops, didn’t make any attempts to de-escalate, didn’t explain what he was reaching for, etc. A quick, “Alright, be cool. Let me get my wallet. It’s in the car next to the driver’s seat,” and then making slow and deliberate movements, would have done wonders.

But instead, he ignored the officers, fought against them, and reached for … something. All of his behaviors up to reaching for that “something” are consistent with someone mentally preparing to kill as soon as he acquires the means to issue lethal force. It’s therefore not unreasonable to conclude the “something” he’s reaching for is a weapon and respond accordingly.

But don’t expect the mob to grok the nuances. They’ll only hear “unarmed black man shot by police”, put 2+2 together, and get 5. Just like the race hucksters have conditioned them to do; the mob is not allowed to conclude anything else.

And as Orwell wrote in 1984, “Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two makes four. If that is granted, all else follows.”

We can hem and haw about freedoms being “granted” vs. “recognized”, but the gist is, the mob isn’t allowed to weigh actual facts. As a result, they conclude wrongly pretty much every time, and so the whole “movement” — with all its violence and destruction — is based on a lie.

When people ask who the most dangerous people are in America, most people will instinctively name a serial killer or terrorist, someone on the FBI’s “10 Most Wanted” list. Leftists will say Trump. BLM/Antifa will say cops (and Trump).

But if you ask me, it’s Al Sharpton, Ben Crump, and all the Congress-critters, mayors, DAs, and city council members who openly support BLM/Antifa. The amount of actual destruction and death (direct and indirect) they’ve caused through their endorsements puts all the others to shame.
