Bill 88 sponsored by Senator Danny Verdin (Republican idiot)

TO AMEND SECTION 56-3-1230 OF THE 1976 CODE, RELATING TO LICENSE PLATE SPECIFICATIONS, TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES TO ISSUE A STICKER TO EACH CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT HOLDER WHO IS A VEHICLE OWNER THAT MUST BE AFFIXED TO THE VEHICLE OWNER’S LICENSE PLATE TO INDICATE THE VEHICLE OWNER IS A CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT HOLDER.

What part of CONCEALED you don’t understand you dumb f**k? Is concealed carry some sort of “selektion” process and the masses must be advised about the unerwünscht (undesirables) ? And also the idea that advertising where a gun may be located and easy to steal might not be the most intelligent thing in the world?

Holy crap. How is this guy breathing on his own without a manual with lots of pictures?

  1. OK, let’s point a few things out.
    1. This guy is probably anti gun, which means that, in his opinion, gun owners do not have rights, nor do they deserve the same privacy protections other folks get.
    2. He probably sees gun ownership as a danger to the public at large, thereby requiring a warning sign, similar to those concerning hazardous materials
    3. His motivation is probably to “protect” police. And because the justification is noble, the law of unintended consequences could not possibly apply.

See, he’s not an idiot. You are just too blinded by your ammosexuality to see how wonderful this bill is. (And by that, I man this guy is as dumb as a box of rocks. ) I’m surprised this guy isn’t in California, this is their level of stupid.

  2. From the rest of his bill, I will grant him the action of stupid rather than evil. Lord, protect us for idiot lawmakers. Wrong, dangerous and stupid solving a problem that does not exist.

  3. The rest of the bill is actually pretty good. He just took a header on the one item. Amend it to remove that item and pass the bill.

    1. I agree. Just kill Section 5.
And the names and personal information of the CWP holders is confidential, only Law Enforcement has access to the data. Now he wants to tell the whole State and Country who carries concealed.

  4. So if you live in South Carolina and are reading this, here are the members of the Judiciary Committee.

Whoohooo! RINO Larry Martin not on it for the new Session. He was the Chairman before and always nixed Open Carry for us.
    SC Rinos on the Committee.
    Luke A. Rankin
Looks like that is it. But as Chairman, he can nuke any pro-gun bill.
Here’s the good news. Republicans outnumber the Democrats on the Committee.
    Republicans – 14
    Democrats – 9
So maybe we can get OC passed this time around, if someone will file a Bill to amend the carry law.

  5. Sounds like another really good argument in favor of permitless (Constitutional) carry to be pushed in SC.

    1. That, too. Although I would not object to a Texas style plan, Open Carry with a CWP. May keep the Liberals happy. Maybe even keep LE happy.

  6. SC has this process in the legislature of “pre-filing” bills and every year it generates all the male bovine excrement you would expect of such a measure. And, every election the newly gentrified perpetuate such farce (SC is #2 in destinations for those escaping the Bastions of Liberalism in the northeast, and those folks bring a lot more with them than just their furniture).

But….forgetting for the moment that whenever a LEO runs a car plate info about the registered owner comes back, including possession of a CWP, let’s consider:

CWP stickers. OK, if you’ll agree to “convicted felon” stickers, “members of the legislature” stickers (often the same category, but will still require one sticker for each), “government employee” stickers, “spouse of law enforcement employee” stickers, “convicted of sexual crimes” stickers, “convicted of DUI” stickers, “child support malingerer” stickers, “domestic violence injunction” stickers, and a few more I haven’t thought of yet. We can turn car license plates into state-mandated rainbows! (I’m not sure what to do when multiple categories of mandated stickers exceeds available space on a standard size car license plate, maybe require a second plate…).
