Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

My idea about Citigroup.

Instead of boycott, why don’t several million gun owners decided to buy one or two shares a piece and then we have one representative go have a nice little chat with them about this dumb policy?

You reckon they would pay attention to somebody that represents 10 million shares?

Just a thought.

YouTube Bans Firearms Videos.

YouTube, a popular media site for firearms enthusiasts, this week quietly introduced tighter restrictions on videos involving weapons, becoming the latest battleground in the U.S. gun-control debate.
YouTube will ban videos that promote or link to websites selling firearms and accessories, including bump stocks, which allow a semi-automatic rifle to fire faster. Additionally, YouTube said it will prohibit videos with instructions on how to assemble firearms. The video site, owned by Alphabet Inc.’s Google, has faced intense criticism for hosting videos about guns, bombs and other deadly weapons.

YouTube Bans Firearms Demo Videos, Entering the Gun Control Debate

And they can afford it since they are global. Pissing off measly 80 million gun owners is not going to do anything but create malcontents that will backfire in the future if they are ever run foul of .Gov and need support here in the US.

But here is the kicker: They are too big. I don’t care how many and how complicated the alogarithm they design, it simply can’t watch, hear or analyze  the video proper, just the keywords and titles.

Ebay stopped selling Magazines of Unusual Size and other accessories. In fact, if your auction mentions AR 15, you can eventually kiss it goodbye. Do you know how much shit is being sold for AR 15 in Ebay? Let’s say I spent a coupe of nights way too long once I figured out the search string.

Another company with a long-time tradition is Paypal:

We don’t allow PayPal members to buy or sell any kind of firearm, whether it’s in working order or not. The same goes for certain firearm parts and ammunition.

For example, using PayPal, you can’t buy or sell:
Any firearm, including rifles, shotguns, and handguns, whether they’re for sport and recreation, collectibles, or curio or relic firearms.
Firearm parts, including but not limited to receivers and frames, silencers, and kits designed to modify guns so that they fire automatically. High capacity magazines, multi-burst trigger activators, and camouflaging firearm containers are other items in this category.
Ammunition, including propellants like gunpowder or blank ammunition; ammunition or cartridge cases; and primers, bullets, or propellant powder designed for any firearm.

What is PayPal’s policy on transactions that involve firearms?

Stop laughing. I can hear you all the way here. You guys have no shame.

It is simple: 80 million Gun Owners are not going to be shamed into hiding. Those 80 million who are being dumped, are suddenly music to the ears of some other company that wants viewership.

Sorry, we are not going anywhere. We are like the old Gay Pride movement but with less fashion taste and many more guns than the government by a factor of hundreds.

Biasing Towards The Normal. – Misfires And Light Strikes

What will change America’s attitude on guns: Open carry marches and rants about “Freedom’s clenched fist,” or taking your friends, family and co-workers out to a shooting range?
Some people are activists to make themselves feel good. Some do it to change the world.
Take someone shooting. The world you change may be your own.

Biasing Towards The Normal.

Yes, yes and 100 times yes.

Dick’s Sporting goods getting reamed “Deeper than Expected.”

Just weeks after halting sales of all firearms to customers under the age of 21 and banning AR-type rifles in its Field and Stream stores, retail giant Dick’s Sporting Goods announced a “deeper-than-expected” sales drop as their stock sank the most in four months, according to Fortune.

“There’s going to be some pushback and we expected that,” said CEO Edward Stack, in an earnings call with Wall Street analysts, CNN reports. “There are going to be the people who don’t shop us anymore for anything.”

Dick’s Posts ‘Deeper than Expected’ Losses Weeks After Taking Anti-Gun Stance

One of the great things of staying out of politics altogether is that you do not piss off any significant amount of customers. It intrigues me that any company would follow that advice or cave to boycott threats of Left Wing people and politicians who happen to hate Capitalism and therefore the making of a profit.

Fortune is careful to tell its readers not to blame the company’s struggles on its anti-gun stance. Dick’s has struggled with “excessive inventory and deep discounting,” and it’s been unable to compete with Amazon and Nike, who have both been pushing customers to make online purchases.

If you are already hurting business-wise, who was the effing genius who convinced the rest of the board morons of losing more clients? Because it makes all the Harvard School of Business’ sense to dismiss the Gun Owner who will drop $1K buying guns, ammo and accessories in order to try to get the business of a Moms Demand follower who may spend only $70 on a sports bra and a pair of yoga pants.

The Florida Constitution Revision Commission stops Gun Control Amendments.

Via McThag:

The Constitution Revision Commission, a panel that meets every 20 years and can propose changes to the state constitution, rejected several proposed restrictions Wednesday.

A majority of the members voted that the measures were out of order and couldn’t be considered under the panel’s rules.

Two of the proposals that were rejected asked voters whether they would ban a type of semiautomatic rifle.

A former federal prosecutor wanted Florida voters a chance to decide to add the same restrictions passed recently by the Florida Legislature, including raising the minimum age to buy a gun to 21.

Push to let Florida voters decide gun restrictions fails.

I wonder how much crap they got to suddenly see religion. Do I go as far as assume the Florida GOP has realized the magnitude of the fuck up they committed with SB 7026 and how close they are to lose power that they want to make amends?

Nah…

“Traffic Ticket Gun Ban” Seriously, quit with this crap.

Yet somebody else has dropped in the comments to bitch about Fix NICS bills and how it really is Gun Control in disguise and the fucking traitors of the NRA and you if you support it and blah-blah.

As far as I have been able to track, the main pusher of this exotic collection of twisted thoughts was Gun Owners of America in press release back in December last year.

There is a reason for me marking the date. You will see this again later.

Let’s start with the basics. If you get a ticket for speeding or unsafe lane change or license plate light gone or whatever little indiscretion you may have committed, your guns will be safe and you can actually go buy some more, no problem.

Now, if you are the forgetful type or IDGAF type and forget of ignore pay the tickets and go to court, the judge will issue a warrant for your arrest. And that kiddies is what is called being “fugitive from justice.” Silly and stupid just because you were caught doing 40 mph in a 25 mph zone? Agree, but still is the law till you change it. Understand that the person who got the tickets and had to take care of them was you and you did not creating a turd sandwich which you are now forced to chew without ketchup.

Now, I refer to our old friend ATF form 4473 and the question:

The answer is a rotund yes. Correction, it was a yes till November of 2017.  In fact, on November 27 of 2017, the Washington Post publishes an article in which explaind that the DOJ has dumped a bunch of people from their computers because the definition of “fugitive from justice” had been changed.

Tens of thousands of people wanted by law enforcement officials have been removed this year from the FBI criminal background check database that prohibits fugitives from justice from buying guns.
The FBI purged the names from the database after the Justice Department changed its legal interpretation of “fugitive from justice” to say it pertains only to wanted people who have crossed state lines.

Tens of thousands with outstanding warrants purged from background check database for gun purchases

Did you compare the date of GOA’s press release with the date of the article?  GOA was factually wrong by the time of publishing. But I have seen no correction from them (I might be wrong) and people keep popping everywhere screaming about the frigging “Traffic Ticket Gun Ban.”

Oh wait, I almost forgot. If this thing was not stupid and convoluted enough, I give you the kicker from the same WaPo article:

For more than 15 years, the FBI and ATF disagreed about who exactly was a fugitive from justice.
The FBI, which runs the criminal background check database, had a broad definition and said that anyone with an outstanding arrest warrant was prohibited from buying a gun. But ATF argued that, under the law, a person is considered a fugitive from justice only if they have an outstanding warrant and have also traveled to another state.
In a 2016 report, Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz urged the Justice Department to address the disagreement “as soon as possible.” Late last year, before President Trump took office, the Justice Department Office of Legal Counsel sided with ATF and narrowed the definition of fugitives, according to law enforcement officials. The office said that gun purchases could be denied only to fugitives who cross state lines.

Probably is the first time since sometime before 1934 that the ATF did something that benefited gun owner, although probably by accident.

Now, can we please quit with the Traffic Ticket Gun Ban?
