Philando Castile Shooting: Dashcam Video
Via 90 Miles
I think I am gonna stand with what I said before: There were mistakes on both sides.
Where a Hispanic Catholic, and a Computer Geek write about Gun Rights, Self Defense and whatever else we can think about.
FISHERS, Ind. – Fishers police arrested a gas station clerk for intimidation after they say he held a shoplifting suspect at gunpoint. Police received a call about a theft at the BP gas station near the intersection of East 131st Street and SR 37 around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday. Police tell FOX59 that a man suspected of shoplifting walked out of the BP, and the clerk decided to follow him outside of the store. That’s when police say the clerk pulled a gun on the suspected shoplifter.Police arrested the shoplifting suspect for theft, and they also arrested the clerk for intimidation.
The title of the post is a bad parraphrase from Jim Cirillo’s quote
”You are not sworn to endanger your life to apprehend a dangerous criminal, nor you are paid to do it.”
And to get your gun out to rescue a Twinkie is just plain stupid and full of consequences you will be tasting soon enough.
Let’s say this was a violation of The Rules Of Stupid.
Hat Tip @outredneckthat
No, not The Onion:
The leadership of the Orlando LEO institutions are a joke. I understand that The House of The Mouse and related business are the ones paying the bills, but it seems that Chief LEOs and top Honchos are ignorant of weapons to the point of ridicule and it does not help that they actually do a Social Media release using Toddler Talk rather than addressing people in a professional manner. Of course, if they are not behaving like idiots, it means they think the regular citizens are idiots that need to be spoken to like they were 4 year olds.
The firearm in the picture (That they at least admit is not the gun recovered) is a Mossberg International 715P Pistol in .22LR, not a rifle . And you are in the Gunshine State, did you think you people in the State would not know the difference?
You can hear the sphincter tightening up.
But no matter how the point is phrased,
its unmistakable thrust is this: The Government has an
interest in preventing speech expressing ideas that offend.
And, as we have explained, that idea strikes at the heart
of the First Amendment. Speech that demeans on the
basis of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disability, or
any other similar ground is hateful; but the proudest boast
of our free speech jurisprudence is that we protect the
freedom to express “the thought that we hate.” United
States v. Schwimmer,”
Of course the Snowflakes and Lords of The Flies will continue their chant and do whatever they can to suppress Free Speech. Unfortunately they never had (and now even less) a legal floor to stand on.
Now, if we could only get the FBI to start getting on these assholes for violation of Civil rights instead of wasting time to see if some Russian spammer sent a trojan horse to some idjit in the Clinton campaign…
Discuss among yourselves.
In a discussion about the case of Philando Castile in Facebook, I happened to mention that in my opinion, both sides made mistakes that led to the death of Castile. It was on response to the bullshit that now is riding too many circles that Castile did nothing wrong other than being black with a gun who fell victim to the prejudice of a racist cop, that the cop is Hispanic somehow was failed to mention. Liberal guy ignores the assesment and pulls out a tired old “Get Out Of Responsibility” card.
This was my reply:
So, what you are saying is that once a tag of “victim’ has been attached to an individual, he or she ceases to have any responsibility for things he/she might have done in that case?
Victim Blaming is a pernicious concept. It is basically intellectual laziness and intellectual dishonesty waved as a badge of false honor. The refusal to acknowledge that certain behaviors could have been different or better decision making was wrong just because somehow it does not conform to chosen politics is asinine. With tragic events like the Castile killing, we should strive to figure out what was done by all parties and come up with way to fix them so we reduce the probability of deaths in the future.
Yell “FUCK DA POLICE!” and close your mind to fix things achieves nothing more than adding more corpses to the pile. Then again, there are some groups that love nothing more than corpses being piled up for both political and fundraising reasons.
And that is all I have to say about Victim Blaming.
PS: However, the best (or stupidest) post was done by a fellow Liberal of the Victim Blaming guy. Kinda tells you how much info he got on the Castile case, from what sources and how much her processed.
