Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

That was a new approach to show stupid.

Yesterday I was having lunch at the local park when I heard an amplified voice. It was a police officer using his vehicle’s P.A. system telling a gentleman that his dog (beautiful German shepherd) had to be on the leash. The guy gave a sideway glance, ignored him with a smirk on his face and kept walking toward his vehicle. The cop repeated the warning, and the now official Asshole repeated his initial reaction. It felt like “So what are you gonna do?” and he was about to find out.

The cop turned his vehicle around and parked in front of me. He got out of his car and confronted Mr. Asshole, very politely about the dog not being on a leash. Mr. “A” began to complain and even used the “I see people with unleashed dogs all the time” doubling down on the stupid attitude. The officer then asked for ID and Mr. “A” initially said he did not have ID and then thoughtfully confessed he had it in his van. After retrieving it and passing it to the cop, he kept going back and forth about other people and their dogs and assorted BS while the officer checked him out on his computer.

“But I see people over there with unleashed dogs all the time!”

Since I had a better angle than Mr. Asshole, I could see the officer using his pen, figured somebody was about to get a ticket and this was about to get even funnier given the prissy attitude I have been seeing coming from the Idjit… and I was not disappointed.

Mr. Asshole was not happy about getting a ticket, and then he said something I was not expecting:

“It is because I am White and did not run, isn’t?”

Are my ear deceiving me? Is this guy actually using a Reverse Race Card like it was a game of Political Uno? Nope, he went on a tirade re-using the “other people are doing it so I should get a free pass” and the always favorite “You could have given me a warning instead” alongside with “I am going to court and fight this ticket!” and repeated the “It is because I am White and did not run” bit at least twice more and adding “If I ran away, you would have not bother chasing me and giving me a ticket” or words to that effect.

Oh yes, the officer was Black which made it even funnier and incredibly sadder for Mr. Asshole.

The cop remained at all times utterly professional in his dealings with Mr. Asshole. Bravo for him.

I believe that a simple attempt at de-escalation by Mr. Asshole, namely acknowledging the officer’s warning and making a half-hearted effort to restrain the dog would have saved him some money and aggravation. Instead, he will be at least $50 off and a lot of blood pressure up.

The accident in Francis Scott Key Bridge… I don’t know.

This is the speed up video of the event. It just gives me some weird itching in the suspicious bone.

If you know ships and care to explain that behavior, you have the comments section at your disposal.

Guns are durable goods.

Which is why Gun Control is a pipe dream at best.

An NYPD officer was fatally shot during a Monday car stop in Queens, Mayor Adams said, calling the incident “a senseless act of violence.”

“We lost one of our sons today, and it is extremely painful,” Adams said at a press conference. “It’s extremely painful.”

Uniformed Officer Jonathan Diller and his partner pulled Lindy Jones, 41, and Guy Rivera, 34, over near the corner of Mott Ave. and Smith Place in Far Rockaway just before 5:50 p.m., cops and sources said.

The men were in a gray Kia SUV and were illegally parked in a bus stop, according to police.

“[Rivera] was asked to leave the car,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said at the news conference. “He was given a lawful order numerous times to step out of the car, and he refused. Instead of stepping out of the car, he shot our officer.”

Diller, 31, was shot in the torso underneath his bullet-resistant vest, but “still stayed in the fight,” Kenny said.

The gun was recovered.

Bryco has been out of business for 20 years, but the guns are still out there. And those too young will not remember the outcry and teeth gnashing when the term Saturday Night Special was created and guns like Bryco, Jennings, and Raven were stamped with that title to make them “evil.”

They sued Bryco out of existence after typecasting it as evildoers and merchants of death, a strategy Gun Control swore would end “Gun Deaths” and violent crime in general.

It failed spectacularly and deadly.

Unholstered weapon strikes again.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Police said the mother of a teen daughter who was shot Saturday night reports the gun that killed her fired off accidentally.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said a 13-year-old girl was shot around 10 p.m. inside her home on Edgehill Avenue. The victim was taken to the hospital, where she died of a single gunshot wound.

Police said the teen’s mother told detectives her unholstered .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol was inside her purse and accidentally fired while she was attempting to grab her keys. Charges have not been placed.

Ladies, if you are going to carry in a purse, please get a purse designed for carrying a firearm or at a bare minimum, have a holster that securely covers the trigger and place it in a separate pocket with nothing else.

Saw this at the range.

While waiting for the shotgun class to begin, I saw this.

$109 on the left and $119 on the right.

I am guessing if you don’t feel like building your “Oh Sh*t!” kit or are in a hurry to have something available, you can go with one of these two options.

Notice it does not come with tourniquet, you must supply your own. the range had a crate full of them right under the kits.

Shotgun Class: When in doubt, go back to basics.

It had been way too many years since I took a shotgun class and I admit I don’t shoot it as often as I should, even for fun. So, when Outpost Armory offered a Shotgun Fundamentals class, I decided to follow the advice of Randy Cain and go back to basics and just knock some of the rust.

I believe that other than me and maybe one more, all of the students may have had a passing knowledge of shotgun or plain none at all. It was great to see people wanting to learn and do so in a platform that was supposed to be hard.

Instructor Tony Welch explaining types of shotgun.
We had a couple who did not even owned a shotgun yet but were smart enough to invest in a class. They used a range weapon for the shooting portion.

And, of course the obligatory arty-tacticool photo,

I know, I am not Oleg. Shut up. 😀

They have more classes in other guns coming up and I believe I will take an AR class followed by a Red Dot Handgun class.

I will keep you posted.
