Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

Enemies: Foreign and Domestic. (We can read through your B.S.)

But since everything will be owned by the Government, whatever they issue to the ruling class will be government-issued and believe me, they wont be wearing cheap mass produced crap or live in Section 8 Housing.

And I can almost see Ladd beating the monkey hard at the prospect of having his wish come true. Then again he can always go the way of Ceausescu and I cannot think of anybody more deserving of it.

This is a very good question.

Stole the whole thing from Aesop:

Don’t post the details. Don’t even answer “yes” or “no” in comments. It will never see the light of day here. I don’t want to know, and Big Brother doesn’t need the intel. Capice?
Weapon? Basic load? Body armor (for any value between T-shirt and Level IV hardplates, with helmet. And gas mask.)? Sustainment supplies? For up to 72 hours? Eye and ear pro? At any point beyond “P” in your comms PACE plans? Boots (broken in!)? Clothes appropriate for the weather, including the next few days? Car Keys (with a full tank, and ready to rock!)? Go-To-War Jump Bag?

What if your neighbor called you?

A relative?

A relative some distance away?

Spouse or kids, not at the homestead?

What about with one minute’s notice?

Don’t lie to me, and don’t even try to b.s. yourself. How would you fare, with yourself as the grader for this exercise, supervised by the sweep second hand of your watch?

Could you, really and truly, hit the Batpole, and come out at the bottom ready to face the forces of evil?

Ponder the above. Hard.

The pre-Revolutionary militia standard was ready to mount or march, 60 seconds, with musket, powder and shot, water, one day’s ration, bayonet, and hatchet. In 60 seconds, at your front door, or beside your saddle mount.

It’s still a damned good standard.

And BTW, while you’re thinking: Just exactly how long do you think you have to get this together, without looking like a soup sandwich, before this isn’t a thought exercise, or just a drill?

As a rule, when TSHTF, it doesn’t make a reservation.

And since I agree with the initial sentiment, comments are disable for this post.

SCHOOL shooting suspect Tim Simpkins celebrated after being freed from Tarrant County Jail on a $75,000 bond while some of his alleged victims remained hospitalized.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a welcome home party with relatives one day after allegedly shooting a 15-year-old boy “seven or eight times”, a teacher Calvin Pettitt in the back and grazing a teenage girl at Timberview High School.

Videos of Simpkins appeared on social media showing him enjoying a gathering in his family’s kitchen, clutching a baby and embracing others.

And that is all I am going to say.

What the hell is going on with .30-30 Win ammo?

Mi Brother in Law has asked me to look for 30-30 since it is one of his go-to calibers for hunting.  I have pretty much determined that there is not a round for sale in Rutherford county after visiting anything that may be related to guns. The people working in the establishments have told me they have not received 30-30 in a very long time nor tell you if they will ever get another box.

Prior to the Clinton administration and their AWB, 30-30 was the most popular long gun in the country and therefore an ample supply of the cartridge should be available. I’d say it is now the second most popular long gun or if you push it, maybe the third if you include rimfire in the list

I can find 5.56 and I can lay my hands on bricks of .22LR, but 30-30? Zilch.

I went to check on ammoseek.com and Dear God and small puppies! WTF? Starting prices are $2.50 per round? That is insane.  Does anybody have an explanation for this?

I did a quick calculation: Buying the dies, bullets, brass, one pound of powder and 1000 primers (minimum I saw online)  to load 100 rounds would come to $2.40 per round and I would still be left with with 900 primers and over half a pound of propellant. If I up the number to 200 rounds, the price drops to $1.50 per round.

I am going to have to get my B-i-L to start reloading his ammo. Plus he need a relaxing hobby, Lord knows he works too hard.

Kenosha Police Officer who paralyzed Jacob Blake is cleared by the Feds.

Civil rights charges will not be pursued against the Wisconsin police officer who shot Jacob Blake last year, partially paralyzing him, the Department of Justice announced Friday.

Kenosha Police Officer Rusten Sheskey, who is white, fired seven times at Blake, who is Black, on Aug. 23, 2020, after responding to a report of a domestic dispute, authorities said.

Following an investigation, federal prosecutors said the evidence obtained was insufficient to prove Sheskey “willfully used excessive force,” the DOJ said in a statement.

Officer who shot Jacob Blake won’t face civil rights charges, DOJ says – ABC News (go.com)

The same Feds that are going after parents as terrorists for loudly voicing their opinions at PTA meetings and treating Americans as parishioners of war for trespassing in Congress on Jan 6 could not find enough evidence to indict Officer Sheskey who already had been cleared by the local Prosecutor and his own department.

The father of Jacob Blake had this to say:

I was expecting more from the administration than this. I was expecting much more than this,” he said. “I believe that we’re in a systematic racist system, and that this system was not set up for us. So I didn’t expect the system to work for us, because it never works for us. It wasn’t made for us.”
Blake’s father said he disagrees that Sheskey didn’t willfully use excessive force.
“Seven times in the back is excessive,” he said. “I don’t care if you’re a dog. Seven times in the back, that’s not excessive?”

Basically he was stating that the current federal officials, since thy openly curry the Black vote, should have gone and imprisoned the officer even though the evidence simply did not exist of his guilt. And then he blames racism and the usual platitudes. And no, seven shots in the back are not excessive force if that is what it took to stop Blake. The question is never the number of shots but if they were shot during or after the the attack. You can shoot one bad guy once in the front and ceases being a threat, shooting him again makes you now a criminal. That was only 2 shots, but the second one was excessive and so was your use of force.

So, what is going to happen in Kenosha? Is BLM going to go out and “almost peacefully” protest or their expiration date is past and are too busy buying multi million homes?

We will see.
