DeSantis Derangement Syndrome: Nikki Fried swears the new GOP is fascist

It seems the hasthag #DeathSantis never got a whole lot of traction. According to the CDC, Florida is right in the middle of the pack in deaths per 100K even though all the medical experts predicted we were going to be burning funeral pyres 24/7 because we have a huge elderly population and because we “ain’t smarts like them folks up north.”

So when one narrative fails, they have to try another load of slime and see if it sticks this time, hence the video above.

The Florida Democrats are pissed off: The State went full Red with Trump, the lost state legislators in the last election, they lost the governorship and ended up coming out that the Democratic candidate had a predilection for meth and male prostitutes.  The Legislature passed bills reinforcing the safety of voting making it harder to cheat and  another bill to make you pay if you went full rioting.. ahem… almost peaceful demonstrating. So the only thing they can come up with is to label everybody who is not them a fascist.

I know the strategy has worked up in the Northwes and selected purple areas, but it is a hard sell if you consider that a lot of peple in South Florida have come from countries with dictatorships or are descendants from survivors of the same. The simpl fact that Pothead Fried is freely accusing anybody she does not like as fascist and is still alive and free, proves her so wrong that only morons suffering from intellectual and political paralysis would buy it as article of faith. In true fascist countries, she’d be arrested and thrown in some dark hole somewhere or her body found in some culvert somewhere with two gaping oozing holes in the back of her head. But she is in Florida, USA where she has a protected Constitutional right to say stupid shit like that trying to seek power.

Moving Woes: Book Donations.

Donation is supposed to be a magic word when you are moving as things disappear when you mutter it. Be advised it ain’t that magical because institutions that accept donations are (rightfully so) picky. I am amazed that most of them do not accept books and I guess they get a lot of crap any decent bibliophile would not touch and rather Fahrenheit 451 because of deteriorated conditions and even bugs.

The first thing I did when we pulled the move trigger was go through my book collection and figure what was coming with us and what was to be donated. To make it fast, I decided that if I had not read it in more than 5 years, it should be gone unless something else mattered. That has been my practice since I moved to the US hand having to leave about 2,000 volumes back in Venezuela, mostly things I read once and did not care to read ever again. Yes, I was a book hoarder but I am much better now and the Miami Dade Public Libraries have benefited.

Local Vet organization got almost 400 books, 95% of them in pristine condition which I hope it brings them a tidy sum. Average tax deduction is supposed to be $2.

And no, I did not count how many books end up going, but the pile was bigger the donations.

PS: If you are wondering if I will talk about moving guns and ammo, don’t . For obvious reasons, I ain’t sharing that till everything is fully secured at the destination.

Florida lifts mask requirement for those vaccinated.

Fully vaccinated Floridians no longer need to wear face masks in public or avoid most social gatherings, Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees said in a newly issued health advisory.

Until now, Rivkees had backed requiring face coverings in Florida wherever social distancing wasn’t possible, both indoors and outdoors.

His new public health advisory, which rescinds those requirements, comes just days after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offered more guidance on mask-wearing outdoors. Rivkees goes further than the CDC — giving the OK for vaccinated Floridians to go without their masks indoors too.

Vaccinated? No need to wear your mask indoors or outdoors, Florida Surgeon General says

Add to that the Governor’s executive order prohibiting Covid Passports and the Legislature approving a bill saying the same, we are pretty much done with the things. About time too.

And it will probably encourage those still being lazy about getting the shots.  Smart move not to impose but suggest and leave it up to the citizen rather than force it and get a push back.

Police Officer mocks LeBron and gets suspended by weak ass Department.

I don’t know if you have seen this, but it is right on the money and funny.

But in the Era of Cancel Culture and sheer terror to be branded racist and lose funding, his department suspended him.

An Idaho cop who mocked LeBron James in a viral Tik Tok video has been suspended without pay and is now under investigation, with many expecting him to lose his job.
The controversy started when Nate Silvester responded to the basketball star’s infamous deleted tweet where he wrote, “You’re next. #Accountability,” alongside a photo of Nicholas Reardon, the officer who shot Ma’Khia Bryant.

Silvester’s own police department also wasted no time in throwing him under the bus.
“The Bellevue Marshal’s Office is aware of the extreme controversy regarding Deputy Marshal Silvester’s viral TikTok,” said a statement. “The statements made do NOT represent the Bellevue Marshal’s Office. The Bellevue Marshal’s Office always demands that our Deputies engage with our citizens in a friendly and professional manner. This is NOT how we expect our Deputies to act on duty or use city time. This is a personnel issue that is being dealt with internally.”

Cop Suspended Without Pay For Mocking LeBron James

But the Bellevue Marshal’s Office is getting burned in Social Media by tens of thousands calling them weak ass pussies in various levels of politeness.

Bellevue Marshal’s Office is in Idaho, not necessarily a Mecca of Wokenism. If Sheriff is an elected position, I believe a dead cat will beat the actual idiot when it comes election time.

Where We Say Goodbye To Florida.

Today is the last day of the Florida Legislative Session, bar something totally off the cuff. We have two Pro Gun laws waiting for the Governor’s signature and this is usually where I take blogging easy for a couple of weeks before getting back to complain abut everything.  This year is different.

About 5 or 6 weeks ago, we found out a big economic door was going to be slammed on us by the beginning of summer. The missus and I discussed it and we decided that our eventual plan to move in 5 years to be with the family was to be implemented now.

So we are leaving the Gunshine State and that means I will no longer be a Florida Blogger.

I have been living continuously longer in Florida than anywhere else, including Venezuela and I have been a Florida Gun Blogger for 13 years. I learned to shoot in Florida and became a Second Amendment supporter here. I have been through Tropical Storms and Hurricanes which is something I will not miss one bit and will have to leave behind some great people who will be truly missed.

The missus and I are both a bit apprehensive and elated at the same time. She missed her family and we both missed Tennessee.  I personally missed Fall in the Volunteer state and I am looking forward to see the colors again. And, of course, I shall be bitching as good Floridian about winter coming so soon with temperatures dropping in the 60s by September, but think of it as material for future posts.

And I have to re-learn a new set of gun laws, and specially that GFZ signs do carry the weight of law in the Volunteer State. I think I will start with Andrew Branca’s Tennessee Self Defense Laws seminar for starters, but if somebody knows of the equivalent of Jon Gutmacker’s book for Tennessee, please let me know.

Our tentative date of departure is sometime mid July provided the house is sold fast which apparently will happen from what I have seen.  And by the prices in the market, we will surely leave without any debts.

So, to all my Florida friends and readers: Thank you!  It has been a helluva ride and enjoyed it a lot.
