The more the Democrats kept at this Soft Coup/Impeachment effort, the more it reminds me of what they did in Venezuela. Every day it passes, I see the increasing of a No-Way-But-Bullets exit of this problem. The Democrats will do their outmost not to allow the President to get to the November elections because I believe they know not only he will be reelected but by such a margin it will give him even a bigger Bully Pulpit with a huge side of Mandate. And who knows? Maybe the House reverses back to Republican.
And if that happens, History tells us the leaders of the failed take-over end up in prison or posing in front of a pockmarked wall for 5 minutes or so. Yeah, this is America, we don’t do that.
Yet.
I wish I shared your optimism. We’re already way past the point of no return. Best us true Americans can do now is hope for the best while preparing for the worst.
I hope there’s a peaceful way out. I wish for a peaceful way out. I pray for the Lord to point us towards a peaceful way out.
I see no signs of it.
I keep remembering one of the scariest things I have ever read [from an unknown on a gun blog). “I’m not going to try to fight a SWAT team. I’m going to welcome them in, cooperate with them, and give them whatever they ask for…
“…And after they leave, I’m going to go after the ones who sent the SWAT team after me…”
If that doesn’t scare you, you’re either on the right side (pun intended) or you’re believing your own BS (on the Left side), and you’re going to get a very nasty surprise….
I’d Truly like to NOT have to get to that…
There are those that believe a true marxist revolution in this country needs exactly that – a revolution, with all the blood, suffering, and death that entails. It is “necessary” to wipe the slate clean, reset the system, kill off both their political enemies and their more fractious allies, and reduce the American population to something “more manageable.” They don’t care who kicks it off, either; they only care that it kicks off soon, so they can still be around when the dust settles in order to take their rightful places as the new benevolent rulers of a communist American proletariat.
They truly do believe that they would survive any American Red October, and retain enough influence to take over. The fact that America has steadfastly refused to enter Civil War Two: Class Struggle Boogaloo, has driven them insane. Economic class warfare simply doesn’t work well in this country. Hence, “protected class” warfare, “privileged class” warfare, etc. Even turning America further and further against the bureaucratic class and ruling class. Sure, that will kill off a lot of True Believers, but at least the Important People will survive to take over and build utopia afterwards, right?
I would call it tinfoil-hat level paranoia, except for the fact that our previous President got his political career started in the living room of a terrorist that considered liquidating political opposition to be a just and righteous spoil of war.
