MSNBC apparently attempted to intimidate the Rittenhouse trial jury.

Rittenhouse judge bans MSNBC from courtroom after person accused of trailing jury bus

In a brief statement before the court Thursday, Judge Bruce Schroeder addressed an incident in which a person who identified himself as an employee for MSNBC allegedly followed a sealed bus with blocked out windows as it left the courthouse to transport jurors to an undisclosed location.

The man spotted following the bus identified himself as James J. Morrison – and he told investigators he was instructed to follow the vehicle, Schroeder added. The judge said Morrison claimed to be working under the supervision of an MSNBC producer based in New York.

He may have been trying to take pictures of the jurors or their license plates.

There there is simply the act of following the jury bus, which in and of itself can be disconcerting for the jurors.

This is a major news network engaging in behavior that is right on the line of jury intimidation.

And of course it was MSNBC.

This is the second time someone has been stopped from taking pictures of the jurors.

I really do hope that if this goes on any longer I hope the judge does dismiss with prejudice because I don’t see how the jury could ever be trusted not to be compromised.

Man dies after being hit in head with skateboard during fight in Santa Ana Starbucks

A man was killed after being hit in the head with a skateboard in an act of self-defense during a fight in a Santa Ana Starbucks.

Around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, a fight broke out between two men in the 3300 block of South Bristol Street. Authorities received calls regarding an assault with a deadly weapon inside the Starbucks.

After authorities arrived, a man in his 50s was transported to Orange County Global Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

The witness added that the man walked into the store, approached the younger man who was with his girlfriend seated at a table and began acting aggressively toward him, which may have led to the confrontation.

“Who started the fight, why it happened – those are all things that are going to have to come up, but we have to go through the process of interviewing all the witnesses,” SAPD Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.

Gomez said she tried to comfort the skateboarder after the victim was transported to the hospital. She said she assured the young man that he had done nothing wrong and that the victim seemed to be looking for a fight.

Two things:

First, this blog unequivocally supports the right to self defense.  If you are attacked, fight back with the force required to save yourself.  Fight with what you have.  We believe in gun rights, but California doesn’t.  In this case, what the defender had was a skateboard.

Second, this confirms what we have been saying, a skateboard is a deadly weapon when used that way.  It’s a very hard, very strong, heavy piece of plywood.  It can easily crack a skull and cause fatal brain damage, especially if swung like a sword for a side (edge) on strike.

Unlike other more common makeshift sporting good weapons (bats, clubs, etc), the skateboard seems to fly under the radar.

But do not underestimate the lethality of the skateboard.

Beware of those with skateboards and malicious intent.

I suspect that the Judge is waiting for the jury decision to come back and that if it’s something other than not guilty on all charges, the judge will dismiss with prejudice.

Here is another bit of fuckery the ADAs engaged in.

Rittenhouse has been charged with First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety of the man known in trial only as ‘jump-kick man,’ for the flying kick he took at the teenager’s head as Rittenhouse was attacked minutes after he shot Joseph Rosenbaum dead.

Now Maurice Freeland, 39, has admitted that he was the one who kicked Rittenhouse in the head and narrowly avoided being shot as a result, after the then 17-year-old stumbled to the ground as he attempted to flee.

He has confirmed his identity as jump-kick man but was not called to testify as he refused to do so unless Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger grant him immunity, which he declined to do.

Freeland was in Kenosha County Jail on multiple charges as recently as October when he was bailed out on a bond of $1500.

The defense did not know who “drop kick man” was to question him but the ADA knew and knew he was in custody, but did not provide that information to the defense.

Moreover, they didn’t name Freeland in the charges against Rittenhouse even though they knew his identity.

It’s obvious they did this to deny Rittenhouse’s defense the ability to take Freeland’s testimony which would have been exculpatory to Rittenhouse.

That is a Constitutional violation.

This is Constitutional violation number three by my count: questioning Rittenhouse’s silence, not providing the HD drone footage to the defense, and denying Rittenhouse’s right to face his accuser.

I suspect that the judge wants to give the jury the ability to clear Kyle of all charges.  If they don’t, I believe the judge will vacate the decision with a mistrial.  Three Constitutional violations by the prosecutors is more than enough for an appeal, I can’t see the judge just letting that slide.
