Gun Free Zone Fail: Venezuela. (Graphic Content)

So what is the result of a true Gun Free Zone country? What if legal access to firearms is so controlled by the government that it is almost impossible to buy even a single shot shotgun? What if there is no easy access to ammunition either and you were restricted to only 50 rounds a year (no hollow points or expansive ammo allowed? What if reloading your own ammunition is against the law?  According to Brady and Co. it would be paradise on Earth, Peace in Our Times, People on the streets holding hands and singing Kumbaya My Lord. No more homicides, armed robberies, no gunshot wounds, all peachy.

But reality rears its ugly face and shreds the myth of Gun Free peace and harmony.

The caption of the picture reads: The Dead without dignity. The Bello Monte morgue (in Caracas) has received 2,177 murder victim’s bodies during the first six months of this year which comes to 362 per month, 12 a day and 1 every 2 hours. The bodies pile up in total abandonment as this image from last December. During the weekends where violence increases, there is only one Medical Examiner on duty.

And this is just the capital city of Caracas. During 2009, there were 16,047 murders in the whole country of 27 million people, a monumental failure in terms of keeping the citizens safe and nobody is doing a damned thing. A Socialist Government that has failed to fulfill the promises to the people might not be interested in either fighting crime and much less give its subjects the power to defend themselves.

There is an unofficial state of emergency in the country where people are literally afraid to walk the streets.  About 95% of all homicides go unresolved since the police, stripped of its good officers and substituted by politically-reliable yes-men are overwhelmed and/or participating themselves in criminal activities. And we are talking about a police force that made New Orleans PD look like Scotland Yard and the Templar Nights wrapped in one.

The Socialist Government is not interested in attacking the crime issue, why should they? Officials have bodyguards and are driven in armored vehicles everywhere they go, their neighborhoods are heavily patrolled by security forces and if the common folk are scared shitless of dying in the street or their homes, they have no time to be “conspiring” against the Revolution. It is much cheaper than having to develop a homegrown KGB and keep tabs on everybody.

Gun Control is not about controlling guns but controlling people. Alive and Scared or just plain Dead but they get controlled.

PS: Charges were brought against the newspaper for publishing this picture. Government officials complain that they violate current laws protecting children against abuse. Remember, let’s do it for the Children!

Why I hate the NRA (Not really but let’s jump in the bandwagon for a spell)

Here we go again with the NRA bashing. Somebody said that somebody in Texas said that the NRA is going to back some representative that they don’t like or belongs to a party or another that does not like and the blogosphere once again is filled with NRA-Sucks posts even though the NRA has not issued yet a single report/support for anybody for the upcoming November elections. But let’s not get the facts get in the way of a well traveled post that can generate thousands of hits, shall we?

Since facts are out of the way, allow me to explain my reasons why I won’t support the NRA anymore:

  1. Somebody told me that the postman that delivers the mail to NRA HQ is a junkie for Ben & Jerry’s Ice cream, notorious anti gunners. How can the NRA allow somebody like that into their office space is unforgivable.
  2. My hairdresser posted in her Facebook Page that the NRA endorsed Che Guevara as Governor of Puerto Rico. Since my hairdresser is puerto rican, it must be true.
  3. The NRA failed to stop the appointment of the City of Davie’s new Dog Catcher. He’s been to know be anti gun and comment about the need for sensible gun control.
  4. The NRA also failed to stop the Obama Administration from passing the Health Care Reform, bailing out the Car Companies and stop Global Warming. You know the NRA is in cahoots with the White House!
  5. The NRA is doing a damn thing about lowering the price of ammunition. I am sure they are getting money on the side from the ammo manufacturers against us poor shooters.
  6. I emailed the NRA last month demanding they pass Open Carry in the State of Florida within 30 days. Not only they haven’t done it, but they haven’t even bothered to answer my email.
  7. The NRA should focus more on Second Amendment issues and less on hunting.
  8. The NRA should focus more on hunting and less on Second Amendment Issues.
  9. I feel that my $35 a year NRA membership should include free guns, free range time and a date with Angelina Jolie.  I think they are wasting my money.
  10. I won’t support the NRA because it is the latest meme/trend/ Net fashion thing to do. Common sense has nothing to do. The truth even less.

There… I can breathe now knowing that i have satisfied the thoughtless masses. I shall now return to the logical areas of my brain.

PS: If you think I wrote stuff over the top and hard to believe,I actually saw a demand on a private forum of somebody who this morning posted another bashing to the NRA and calling for an immediate boycott of Ruger Firearms because of long time deceased Bill Ruger ‘s letter supporting the Clinton AWB and High Capacity Magazine Ban.  Shit you not.  Reason had left the building.

Gallery of Scumbags: Harry Reed Race Baiting Hispanics.

“I don’t know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican, okay. Do I need to say more?”

Nope, it is pretty clear you the kind of low-life “patron”  (Do use the Spanish meaning for this word) type of politician you are.
This picture immediately reminded me of another “patron”… damn they look like brothers of something!

Francisco Franco Bahamonde, Dictator of Spain. Another charming SOB.

And that is why I, of Hispanic origin is a Republican.

Patron: A master in ancient times who freed his slaves but retained some rights over him/her. The word is still used  as an augmented version of boss.

Screw it. I am staying .357 Magnum.

Seriously, if you haven’t shot one, stay away, they are seductive as hell.  We are talking Angelina Jolie in bouncing off a chain link fence or Gwyneth Paltrow being “unmummified” kind of seductive.

In the era of Wonder Plastic Pistols, there is something to be said for this crafted chunk of steel. The feel in your hand is that you will demand respect and you will get it. It is Old School-Been There-Done That feel that you get once you shot a couple of hundred rounds. The old “Making Rounds Count” takes on a new and important meaning since you can’t spray and pray out of the situation. Only hits count goes from a cute saying to a way of life. Even the most ferocious .45 caliber aficionado, the usual critic of any caliber “that does not begin with a 4” will bow his head to a .357 Magnum. It is the spatha of the post-Industrial Age.

I finally shot an IDPA match last Saturday with my trusty S&W Mod 65-2 (4″bbl) with 357 Magnum reloads instead of the .38 specials and by all the gods of burning sulfur, I loved it. I know that it is not the recommended thing to shoot in competition because of the recoil, but I don’t really give a darn anymore. It is a joy to see the Safety Officers being caught unaware and jumping just a little at the boom-noise, to see the dirt geyser erupting out of the berm and see the darn steels being knocked down with authority, not as a suggestion.  And I am not even loading the darn cartridges to max specs but they do shake the props and release curses from the mouths of nearby shooters.

I am gonna be so much more hated at the club from now on. 🙂
