Are your guns insured?

Are you in good hands when it comes to your guns? Some insurance companies may want to drop you like a leper if you have guns after you bought your house or not cover you if you have them prior. Some will not mind as long as the amount can be covered by the amount in the basic homeowners insurance or may make you take a rider if you have a decent amount or valuable firearms.

If you are a member of the NRA, you already have coverage up to $2,500, but with the price of guns literally skyrocketing in the past few years, you may want to reconsider that replacement value for what you paid back then may not cover what you need to spend if you were to lose them. I was just checking one of my shotguns that I bought for $250 years ago and I was shocked to see that it now costs $340 and I have an extra barrel!

If your insurance company does not want to cover your guns or are asking way too much, you may want to check the NRA’s Endorsed Insurance Program that covers up to $1,000,000. I did a quick and dirty check for $10,000 worth of guns and came back with an annual fee of $125 which is about 10 boxes of 9mm Winchester White Box from WallyWorld. Not bad if you ask me.

UPDATE: Pull out your bills of sale and compare what you paid for your gun with actual prices. You are gonna find yourself quite surprised. All the guns in my measly collection have gone up in value, in some cases 30% or more.

The way we see things.

You are strolling in the woods when suddenly find his quaint scene.

Some will say “Awww! How pretty! Some cabin net to a beautiful river. Peace and serenity away from the nastiness of the worlds!” Some of us will wonder “Hmmm, first where is the frigging axe that’s supposed to be next to the stump. Where are the occupants? Why is the door open? Is that banjo music I hear? OK, I am giving this place a wide berth.”

The Some will say: “My heavens! That is a sad way to live your life. Constantly suspicious of anything around you. Paranoia is no good for you!” Well, first it ain’t paranoia just awareness that if even Bambi can put a world of hurt on you, anything may happen in the woods. Secondly, if somebody built a cabin way out there, he might be the kind that wants to be left alone, pretty much like myself and I am keen on respecting that. Plus I don’t know if the cabin is no longer inhabited by the original owners and some crazed dope grower are now the new lease holders and the owners are part of the forest subterranean ecosystem.

The principle to follow if bad things may happen anywhere so be ready. Ignoring this principle is not seeing life through pink colored glasses but walking around with horse blinders. Natural beauty does not go away just because you acknowledge the ugly out there. You just live longer and healthier to enjoy it.

What freedom looks like.

For us, reloading ammunition means the ability to have ammunition at any time, to customize it to your particular gin, needs or even time of the year. It is a hobby, fun thing to do and it even saves you some cash.  Hell, if you feel like it, you can cast your own bullets!
In Venezuela gets you tagged as terrorist and you get to spend from twelve to eighteen years in prison. Years will be added because the ammunition MUST be serialized to boot.

In the meantime, Venezuela has a Murder rate and Violent Crime rate about ten times of the US.

Gun Controls works but only controlling people, not violence.

Limbo Time! How low can you go?

The Obama event registry. You have to be frigging kidding me.I am sure brides everywhere will be happy to forego the china setting for buying golf balls so the Prez can have another round at the local club before the $35,000 per plate dinners.

What’s next? Going school yards and steal the lunch money from kids?
