Although it seems it was more a question of assembly that catastrophic failure. Nobody got hurt and according to the source, the gun was re-assembled and it is operational.

Where a Hispanic Catholic, and a Computer Geek write about Gun Rights, Self Defense and whatever else we can think about.

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

Looks like the ‘wedge’ wasn’t put back, only way this could have happened…..
OK, I’ll show my ignorance, what’s a wedge in this reference?
You can see the square ended slot in the cylinder axis pin, just ahead of the cylinder. There is (supposed to be) a wedge that goes through that slot to pin the front frame and barrel to the rear frame.
I don’t see any pieces of a broken wedge in the photo, so I’m also thinking that that’s what happened.
Yep, think Cemetery is correct. I’ve seen that once before and the wedge had been left out.
I hate it when that happens.
