For the life of me, I can’t figure out why would anybody engage this woman. You are first in the right lane, turn and get out of the conflict.

And why would you go and do a stupid thing like opening the door?

Oy!

  1. Karen opened the door, not the driver.

That’s shootable here in TN, though the driver would have a real hard time trying to convince officers that the 5’4″ 130 lb lady with the fanny pack was the aggressor here without that video.

    1. You are right, but that means the dumb driver unlocked it. That being a recent model, I believe it comes with automatic door locking.

  2. Looks like there was a vehicle to the right at first, I think he was in the left-hand lane. And as for the auto locks, if they shifted it to park at the light, a lot lf newer model vehicles automatically unlock. And yes, shifting into park is stupid.

  3. Hm. Not so much a Karen, I’d say, as an older (certainly not grown up) version of Trigglypuff.

  4. Bitch like that tried that kind of “Karen” crap of me, she’d end up with at least 2 new bodily orifices.

  5. Her actions are wrong, but the driver isn’t 100% blameless either, as the vehicle is blocking the crosswalk and pedestrians will have to walk around the car, exposing them to greater risk of injury.

I think a simple reprimand to the driver would have been best, “Next time don’t block the crosswalk,” and then go on. Freaking out is not good for anyone.

    1. Oh, but I’m pretty sure it was good for her. Get that 2-minute hate on, feel good about feeling mad … she got a self-righteous high off that nice shot of lovely lovely endorphins!

And, yeah, the driver was in a bad spot. However, not having been there myself, and it not being on the video, I can’t say how the driver came to be in the crosswalk. Just stopped too far in? Saw the light changing, stopped fast and then didn’t have room to back up? Etc.

    2. Just as they teach you when you get a CWP- you are not a freelance police officer. Just because you see someone breaking the law is not a license for you to commit an assault or first degree burglary of an occupied conveyance.

Attempting to enter an occupied conveyance for the purpose of committing battery is a First Degree felony and falls squarely under the castle doctrine here in FL. The driver need not drive away, and need not lock his doors. We are not required to retreat before using force.

A snootfull of pepperspray would do wonders for her sunny disposition.
