The Wall Street Journal reports that the rifle was wildly popular during the Obama years because of its simplicity of use, the wide variety of accessories available for it, and the Democrats’ constant push to ban it from civilian ownership.
In total, “companies made 9.3 million AR-style and similar rifles in the U.S. for domestic sales from 2009 through 2016.” Only 2.1 million ARs were made for domestic sales during the 19 years leading up to Obama’s presidency.

And we have no idea how many AKs, SKS, FALs, built-from-kits and 80% receivers are out there. I forget where I have heard the number 14 million total “full semi automatic assault rifle clips”, but I guess it fits in a very conservative estimate.
Now let’s take it to numbers that we can enjoy: 9.3 million AR 15s for the eight years of the Obama administration come to 3,185 a day or 132.7 per hour or 2.2 rifles a minute or one rifle every 30 seconds.
You are now free to laugh out loud.
You could up the ante by one “IF” I bought one…. But I didn’t!! I bought a lot of other weapons and a “LOT” of AMMO!! But No AR or AK’s…. When It comes to rifle’s of that genre… funny how that goes but I like my “MOSIN!!’ You see, with a AK you can hit the side of the barn from inside it… with the AR you can hit it at 60 yards… with the MOSIN, you can hit it from 3 Parish’es* over!!! Also, with an AR, you need a “Special cleaning kit with 3 different types of cleaning fluids… etc… with the AK well it doesn’t care and the last time the MOSIN was cleaned was when it was manufactured … probably a long time before 1945!! GO FIGURE!!
SO I still love the Stat’s and i’d love to know the stats on the number of MOSIN’s out there… In “OUR HANDS!!!” You see, “Close in fighting will be fine with the AR and the AK; BUT!!!,,, when you really have to be “AT&T” and “Reach Out There and TOUCH someone” …get a MOSIN!!!!!!

But remember, according to Diane Frankenstain very few of those 9 millon AR 15s are actually ever used. Right?
Does anybody really believe that there are only 15 million AR-15’s in circulation after seeing 9.3 million were sold during the Obama Presidency? I remember the buying frenzy after the AWB ended in 2004 and the explosion of small manufacturers that rose up and sustained the strong sales numbers leading up to the 2008 election.
Not to mention all the “pre-ban” and “post-ban” AR’s that were already in private ownership. Add all the other semi-auto “modern sporting rifles”, I would say the total number is pretty high. 50 million? Maybe more? AR15’s might be 2/3rds of that number?
Well, you re not taking in consideration all those who got lost in tragic boat accidents…
